This year's Bulldogs abysmal performance in the opener shows weakness. UGA will lose to Florida, South Carolina, and maybe Tennessee. Plus, the SEC West is particularly strong this year, likely UGA will lose 2 of their non-divisional games. Ending the season with 6+ losses, maybe missing a bowl game, loosing out on the recruiting battle to foes Florida, USC, Georgia Tech, all spells doom forhhis job.

"This year's Bulldogs abysmal performance in the opener shows weakness."
Abysmal? They lost to a better overall team. Boise has an excellent defense and a better balanced offense than the Bulldogs.
"UGA will lose to Florida, South Carolina, and maybe Tennessee."
That's 3 games, not 6, Sparky.
Did you see South Carolina's abysmal defensive performance against East Carolina? They allowed 37 points. Not to mention Stephen Garcia had just 110 yards passing (on 7 of 15 passing). Georgia is going to stack the box and force Garcia to beat them.

Georgia will not lose 6 games this season.
Florida? With Brantley as their QB? At home? I doubt that. Boise is way better than the Gators.
The Bulldogs are a lot better with Murray having a year of valuable experience.
I see the Bulldogs going 9-3.
More to come.

No question Boise is the better team. Still, UGA lost by 3 touchdowns. Perhaps you could commend them for the bravery of taking on a ranked foe in week one, but why? The last 5 seasons show how an SEC team competes for the National title: don't take on big OOC foes. Win the SEC, win the BCS bowl game.
I can't count? I said UGA will lose to UF, USC, and UT in the SECe, and 2 in the SEC West. That's five, plus the loss to Boise makes 6. You didn't read what I said, 'sparky.' Do you really think that wit Mississipi, Mississipi State, and AUBURN, two losses won't happen?
As for Brantly, I certainly have my doubts. He was a blue chip recruit with tons of potential, and as ajunior he should have shown us something spectaculur already. Still, new coaching in the Swamp means his potential might show this year. Two INTs against FAU worries me, though. Still, UGA wwill lose the game in JACKSONVILLE, FL, because of the ol' one-two punch of Demps and Rainey.
UGA vs USC? I'll put my money on Steve Spurrier regardless of a weak show on D agaist unranked East Carolina. Betting against Spurrier vs Georgia is like betting against Secretariat.

Um, Boise won, 35-21. That is 2 TD's, not 3.
"Do you really think that wit Mississipi, Mississipi State, and AUBURN, two losses won't happen?"
Ole Miss isn't that good this year. They had a 13-0 lead against BYU, but ended up choking and losing at home, 14-13. They play Georgia at home, but the Bulldogs are much better at QB.
Mississippi State is a sleeper team. However, they play at Georgia. And they are not in Boise's class.
Auburn? The team that barely beat Utah State? A team that was 4-8 last season? And this year is breaking in a freshman QB?
The Tigers are rebuilding after losing Cam Newton. Not to mention, other key players on last years team.
"As for Brantly, I certainly have my doubts."
You should, especially after his first game in the new offense against Florida Atlantic when he was 21 of 30 for 229 yards, 1 TD with 2 INT's.
They should just try and run the ball. Don't let him have to do too much. The Bulldogs beat the Gators.
The Georgia D will stack the box, forcing Brantley to make plays. And he cannot make the Georgia D pay, like Moore did.
The Gators were 5-3 last season at home, not exactly impossible to beat them there.

Boise's not in the same class as MSU? Damn right. Last year, MSU lost close to Auburn (Nat'l champs) and Arkansas (2OTs). Boise lost to Nevada, and beat VT by one score. MSU is a better team than Boise, they'll beat UGA.
Auburn did not play well against Utah St. But they showed, in the 4th, they've got talent. There's good coaching there too, so they'll develop into a solid team. Auburn will beat UGA.
UF's new coaching staff and scheme will bring out Brantley's potential (I hope), but the running game and the defense is more than a match for the Dawgs. If nothing else, I'll sacrifice a goat to Sobek.
Regardless, we're going to see Spurrier and a returning SECe Champs team take on UGA this Sat. They played a 3-4 cover 2 all night against the broncos. If Moore can take them apart, so can Garcia. His stats for last season against UGA:12 for 17 for 165 yards. Lattimore rushed for 103. Advantage: ****.
Let me educate you a little on SEC football: coaches either win or they get replaced. The last semi-successful season for Richt was 2007. Alumni want wins NOW, and they'll burn Richt's effigy if he loses Saturday. And he will. Richt is in his last season at UGA.
DJRoxalot said 09/07, 12:56 PM
Let me EDUCATE you on what he has done since he has been at Georgia.
Richt is 96-35 and 53-27 in the SEC.
He has finished the season ranked in the top ten of the final AP Poll five times (2002???2005,
He has won the SEC East 3 times as well.
Before he got there? The Bulldogs had not won an SEC title in 20 years. He did that while Dooley could not.
12 for 17 for 165 yards will not get it done Saturday.
And against EC? He was 7 of 15 for 110 yards with just 1 TD.
The Bulldogs shut down the Boise St running game, limiting them to 129 yards on 37 carries. Just 3.5ypc with a LONG run of just 17 yards.
They showed a lot of improvement on stopping the run on defense. Granted, Lattimore is better than Doug Martin, but Georgia will commit to stopping the running game. And Lattimore didn't do that great against EC's defense. 23 carries for 112 yards and an average 4.9ypc?
Georgia's defense will be ready.
Sophomore QB Aaron Murray found a new big play threat in TE Orson Charles who caught 6 passes for 109 yards (with a TD) against Boise.
The Bulldogs go 9-3 and a win a Bowl game to finish the season at 10-3.
He saves his job.
