Steelers have been hearing for two years now how they should have lost that Superbowl because of the refs blowing calls and Jeremey Stevens dropping balls. Steelers show Seattle Big Ben, Willie, and Hines will get it done this time too.

The Steelers are coming off a tough road loss to an inferior opponent and absolutely dont want to go into their bye week having lost back to back games. The Seahawks had a bye week last week versus the 49ers so they should come out a little rusty and Pitt will take advantage with an early lead and getting the crowd behind them. I say Pittsburgh by a touchdown.

In conclusion, the Steelers are a better football team than Seattle, especailly when Seattle isnt playing at home with the "loudest fans in the NFL" in their opponents ears.

The Seahawks have been waiting for this game for a long time. They (and us fans) had to deal with a bitter defeat when it was clear Seattle was the better team. I think this game means more to Seattle, and when things match up on paper this gives the 'Hawks a big edge.

Like their Superbowl year the Seahawks are flying below the radar. They aren't getting a lot of press but I think their team speed will confuse Pitt's offense and in the end will be a huge difference in the game.

Waiting for a game for a long time is not indicitive of anything more than potential hopes being crushed again(witness San Diego's loss AGAIN to Patriots earlier this year).
Steelers got the ESPY that year as best sports team, so clearly Seahawks were not.
This game did mean more to Hawks BEFORE Steelers lost last Sunday. Now they are motivated to protect homefield, quiet down those Hag fans who wont let XL go, and go into the bye week feeling good about their season and their division lead.
The Steelers know who the Seahawks are and will not let them off the hook, no matter how a Sea fan might like to believe they are "under the radar". They are not under Pittsburgh's radar for sure after having to hear for two years now the better team lost that Bowl.
Speedy as you may be, the Steel is tough on both lines and power cancels out speed. Hines will be back for this game and no way can you keep a Fast Willie Parker down two weeks in a row.

Your comparison with SD doesn't work. Seattle has much more leadership and mental toughness. You won an ESPY......congrats. So I guess you were the better team!!! The Seahawks aren't feeling good about their season, they have left a lot on the field and they know it. Holmgren will have Seattle prepared. The Smeelers will hang around until the 4th quarter then the 'Hawks will pull away.

These same tough leaders were present in that Superbowl but it wasnt enough to get you over the hump then, nor will it mean diddley now. If Hass is pressured, he isnt going to be accurate, and just like in the SB there will be no holes for Alexander to gallop through.
The only time you guys pull away in the 4th quarter is when you play the 2007 San Francisco 49ers. Unlike them Pitt runs, passes, and plays defense. Look for this game to be close at the half, but Willie wears your "speed" down starting with ANOTHER 3rd quarter blast off!!!!!!!!!

You are correct, when Hasslebeck is pressured he tends to force the ball; however the Steelers won't get close to him. There will be holes all over the place by the 3rd quarter in that so-called "steel" curtain. By the way itty-bitty ben doesn't like pressure either. If there is one thing the 'Hawks defense is good at, its pressuring the QB. Silly Willie might get some meaningless yards in the 4th quarter but that's it. It will be a good game, but not for Steeler fans. GO HAWKS!!

Portis is starting.

October 2, 2007  07:40 PM ET

I think McGahee would be a better choice against Frisco given McNairs groin, they are going to be pounding the ball.
