If Oregon plays in the BCS championship again this year it will be another dissapointment, they have no defense at all and proved last year they cant compete with the best of the best schools.

You can claim Stanford was one of the best but they had no defense either to counter Oregon.

If Oregon ends up in the BCS championship it will be a blowout and be no fun to watch.

How in the world did they prove that they can't compete with the "best of the best schools?"

They lost by a single field goal, give em a break.

And while Oregon's defense isn't as stout as that of Bama's or LSU's, its not as bad as you make it out to be. And its not like LSU or Bama has an elite offense either that Oregon absolutely can't keep up with either.

And you are 100% WRONG about Oregon being "no fun to watch"

Oregon is one of the most exciting and electrifying team to watch in the entirety of college football. LaMichael James puts up points left and right and Chip Kelly risks it all during big games!

Did you see Chip Kelly go for about 4, 4th down plays against Stanford? Heck, he went for the 2 point conversion on their first TD!

In no way is one of the most dynamic offenses in college football "no fun."

well this TD is dumb now because Oregon has 0 chance of reaching the BCS championship game unless alot of schools lose next week which is unlikely

The TD was never about whether Oregon would actually play in the BCS or not; you specifically said IF they were to play, the game would be "no fun."

So actually, this TD is still very viable.

And if you wouldn't like to see Oregon in the BCS game, care to give me some reasons why? I really have nothing else to refute or prove at this point...

The Oregon offense is very, very fun to watch and I personally love Chip Kelly's go for it all attitude.

I didnt realize a 22 to 19 win is a blowout.

November 19, 2011  02:22 AM ET

Gotta vote right. I believe left is lying and he'd secretly love to see Oregon in the Championship game.

Seriously man, how is someone supposed to argue what YOU would or wouldn't like to see?

November 19, 2011  02:39 AM ET

I hope its not a rematch, and Oklahoma somehow comes out of nowhere.

November 19, 2011  02:43 AM ET

Can't compete with the "best of the best schools?" MTC already cited lasts years BCS championship score- the Ducks lost by THREE!

At this point, if Oregon makes it back, a rematch from earlier this season with LSU would be most likely. While they ultimately lost by 13, they were competitive most of the game, twice leading in the first half, and ultmately being undone by losing the turnover battle 4-1. No excuses- LSU won the game, but the Ducks can certainly play with them. Guess I shouldn't have gotten so riled up when I noticed aeballa TD record of 0-5-2...

well maybe i should have named my TD and argued if Oregone makes it to the BCS game they will lose, cuz they wont win even if they make it, Id rather see Oklahoma play LSU then Oregon

What gets me about the BCS nonsense is that Oregon would even be considered for a rematch with LSU if 'bama goes undefeated the rest of the way.

Both teams lost to LSU but 'Bama was more competitive against them. 4 missed FG's in a 3 point OT loss indicates just how close that one was to going the other way. More importantly, the Tide have a MUCH more difficult schedule than the Ducks.

Personally, I don't see how it could even be in question that assuming LSU and Alabama both win out any other team would even enter the conversation of title game.

Then again, I'm not much of a College football fan. Far too many flaws for my taste.

The score was 33-13 early in the 4th QTR and 40-20 with 13 seconds left. Facing what is easily the best defense in the country.

That's an odd definition of "competitive".

Considering that LSU is about as inept offensively as any top team in recent memory, it's a pretty big leap to say Oregon was competitive in that game simply because they weren't blown out in the first half. Aside from a couple of garbage time TD's to make the final score respectable, they were blown out of the building on a neutral field.

Never fear, Oregon has almost no chance of jumping Alabama. Alabama better hope and pray that Oregon remains behind them, eliminating the "Jump Bama for a Non-Rematch" possibility.

He's talking about last years title game which was 22-19 and aeballa6 described as "proved last year they cant compete with the best of the best schools". Losing by a last minute FG is competing in just about every ones definition of the word

I'd much rather see Oregon than 2 SEC teams.

come back to us when you've watched a few games........Oklahoma, LSU , 'Bama and maybe even Georgia have more than enough speed on defense to go up against Oregon, they also have the depth to wear Oregon down by the end of the game. What did James (the Heisman candidate) have against LSU, 57 yards?? Hell, he got caught from behind by a defensive lineman! The scary part of Bama & LSU's defenses is that the lines are strong and fast, Ok State got exposed last night, Wheden can't do if he's being pressured, neither could Oregon

November 19, 2011  11:38 AM ET

Boise State really **** ed up big time this year. This was their chance...

True, but Oregon didn't have LaMichael James for much of the game, and if I recall correctly Cliff Harris and a couple other guys missed the game. I think Barner got hurt in this game, too.I realize LSU was also short a few players, but Oregon was missing their best skill players.

Very true. Oregon is not the same team that faced LSU earlier. On the other hand Alabama is the same team; all defense, mediocre offense. If Oklahoma wins out the Sooners deserve a shot in the title game. If not, then the darkhorse should be given it's chance; Houston.
