No arguing against each other in the first argument, please.
Packers vs. Bears
The longest NFL football rivalry, it is a classic showdown each year in the NFC North. It has gone on since 1922. 170 Total games, and this is a top rivalry. Here is another fun fact, in this rivalry, 48 Hall Of Famers played in these games and there have been 23 deciders overall from this rivalry alone to see who would take the NFC North Title.
Redskins vs. Cowboys
Cowboys and Indians, battle it out. Anyone looks forward to these games, especially around Thanksgiving, where they wear their throwback uniforms now a days. I will name some Hall Of Famers that have been playing in these games:
Troy Aikman
Michael Irvan
John Riggins
Art Monk (SHOULD BE!!!)
I would put this one close to the top as well.
Steelers vs. Ravens (And Or OLD BOWNS)
This was a toughie pick, but I like it since it dates back to when the Ravens were the Browns and when they swapped over to the Ravens. This rivalry has too gone for a long while and it is getting even bigger know since they are 2 true heavy weights in the NFL right now. I am going to put this one up there and see what happens.
You're up

Giants vs Eagles
First played in 1933. Very close to each other geographically just adds to the rivalry
Packers vs. Bears
For pretty much all of the reason you said.
Jets vs Patriots
The Jets lead the overall series between these 2 teams by one game. There has been so much controversy between these 2 teams. Plus everything with Eric Mangini and Bill Parcells just adds fuel

I think the Redskins and Cowboys overpower the Eagles and Giants by A LOT. The Redskins and Cowboys rivalry, go on very far and it is even carried over to Thanksgiving which is another plus. This is one of the oldest rivalries, and I think it is bigger than the Giants and Eagles.
We agree on the Pack and Da Bears.
How is the Jets and Patriots a BIG rivalry? The Jets are slumping and the Patriots nrmally beat them. I don't think that is a rivalry that is growing if the Jets are falling and the Patriots are killing.
I took the Steelers and Ravens because of this:
- They are both ELITE NFL Powers Now
- Biggest Heavyweights in division
- Have a few HOFer's themselves
- Have been playing against each other since the Ravens were the Browns, (LONG TIME AGO).
I think this is a small rivalry getting bigger, for the playoff races each year. This will and has been the game deciders of who would rule each division. None of these two teams kill one another every year. Normally it is split.
Thats all I got right now.

I think the Patriots and Jets is a big rivalry because there is just a certain a bitterness that is always exciting to watch among these two teams. A rivalry isn't a rivarly because of what is happening right now, a rivalry becomes a rivalry over time. While the Pats have had recent domination, the Jets nevertheless hold the overall series lead.
I'm willing to give Redskins and Cowboys

and as a steeler fan, i hate the current browns organization more than the ravens. they basically took over the history of the old team: same fans, same stadium, same feel of mediocrity.

Also, the Browns and Ravens are TWO COMPLETELY different teams. The Browns are the Browns and have the history of the Browns while the Ravens are MAKING their history.

I hate the Ravens organization with heat at a temperature the human race never thought possible...but they are very well-run, they draft brilliantly and are consistently a very tough team to beat.
Not sure what Brian Billick's problem is this year, but I've made the turn and realized that I hate the Bengals far more than I hate the Ravens, because the Bengals are so dysfunctional top-to-bottom, it sickens me that they dare say they have rivalries with the Ravens or the Steelers.
They are nowhere near either one of those franchise's level, and that has never been clearer than right now.

In my mind Jets-Patriots only became a rivalry when the two teams started trading off coaches. Remember Pete Carroll was the Jets coach went 6-10 in his only season got fired and then ended up coaching the Pats. I wouldn't call it much of a rivalry before then.
