If this fight were to happen in the near future, I would take Anderson Silva via submission.

Anderson Silva is the better striker. He's has some of the best Muay Thai in MMA, and his precision is amazing. Silva is also very elusive and hard to hit. Bones would have a lot of trouble landing strikes on Silva.

After Silva wins the standup exchanges, Jones would use his wrestling to take Silva to the mat. And don't kid yourself, if Sonnen can take Silva down, a much bigger Bones can do it as well. Bones is a great wrestler.

I think Bones can control a good portion of the fight on top of Silva, but let's not forget, Silva is a BJJ black belt, one of the best BJJ artists in MMA, and he is great off his back.

Bones is young, and he is a bit cocky.

When you have Anderson Silva on his back, all it takes is one mistake to make you tap.

I think Bones will eventually slip up, and leave one of his arms in a bad position, and Silva locks on an armbar, where Bones would have to tap.

In this fight, I think Bones' long arms would be his downfall.

I disagree, while Anderson Silva is a GREAT fighter, and I do pick him to win this one.

I think Anderson won't win on a submission tho. I think WHOEVER is going to stop Bones Jones, is going to knock him out. It's not a diss on Bones, I just think he's that good. Bones has very solid wrestling, lets not forget. I also think bones vs Anderson, even at the same weight, would EASILY be an advantage for Bones.(height, structure) I see Anderson doing something wild, to stop this beast of a kid. I say a kick to the head, or a flying knee, some wild punch? I think Anderson being the smart fighter he is, will win on speed.

I think Anderson won't be that good in the clinch, with Bones? Spider gets a KO, nah on the submission.

I don't think Anderson would KO Bones. While, Machida did expose some holes in Bones' standup, Bones never once got wobbly. Fact is, we don't know how good Bone's chin is, but from the few times he's been hit, I've never seen him rocked, so it would make sense to give his chin the benefit of the doubt.

You said it yourself, Bones is a great wrestler. That means when Anderson Silva is picking him apart standing up, Bones either has the option of taking a beating or taking the fight to the ground. Chances are, he takes the fight to the ground, where he will be in Anderson Silva's always dangerous guard.

Anderson Silva is a very patient fighter, a smart fighter, and obviously an experienced fighter.

If Bones slips up one in Anderson Silva's guard, Anderson Silva will lock on a submission, and an arm bar. Bones has freakishly long arms, which makes them a bit easier for Anderson to get ahold of.

Good luck Peach

[I]Bones never once got wobbly.[I]

not wobbly , but you shoud've seen Jon's eyes..

Machida brought it, but for o so long.

You don't think Anderson can ko Bones..??

reall?

you have to be kidding..

Anderson's made Forrest Griffin run for cover, and thte Sandman, he got got..lmao

Nah, that's not a good argument, I know. Bones is lethal, but Anderson would have to KO him, Anderson's crafty, but bones is def. stronger in the clinch.. which, isn't good. lmao

Anderson Silva can pull a rabbit out of a hat, at this point. Bones is pretty legit himself, but Anderson, you don't know what's coming, worse than Machida, and you're right, Machida found some holes.

Long Live Brazil, ole fashion triangle, or a punshing kick to the dome.

Machida brought it, and Machida, who is bigger and has better take down defense than Silva was taken down by Bones, the fight got back to standing, where Bones locked in the guillotine, but the elbow Bones landed on Machida while Machida was down was the beginning of the end.

Anderson will pick Bones apart standing, I have no doubts about that, if there is any fighter out there that can exploit Bones' holes in the standup for an extended period of time, it would be Anderson Silva.

But, you have to remember, Anderson's weakest part of his skill set is take down defense, and Bones is a great wrestler, and he's bigger than Anderson.

Bones could and would take the fight to the ground at will.

I don't think Anderson can KO Bones from the bottom.

Bones will be on top, he'll rough Silva up a bit from top position, but he will make a mistake in Silva's guard, and Silva being the great BJJ artist he is, Silva will submit him.

Anderson will pick Bones apart standing, I have no doubts about that,

I don't think Anderson can KO Bones from the bottom.

no, lmao. .. I doubt Frankie Edgar can beat Allistair Overeem..

Spider sent Forrest away, like Forrest just pis8ed his pants or something..

Silva, what he'd do to Belfort?

haha Kick to the dome..

wouldn't be surprised if Bones JOnes, even with his ackwardnes, gets ko'd in a flash, but none other than, the MJ of MMA

Anderson had to beat a striker quick, hence the word named, Brazil.

I'd take Andy via TKO. His striking is way too sharp for Jones.

This. I said the same to UH before.

Bones didn't react well to getting hit by Machida in the first round. I think Silva would pick him apart

But Dana pretty much shut down any chance at this fight in the 140 post fight presser.

If this stays up for a long while, I might pick it up and argue it

I agree. And Andy has lasers for strikes. I think he'd pick Jones **** apart.

I think he would if the fight stays standing, but I do think Bones could and would take the fight to the ground.

If it stays up for a while, feel free to argue Silva via TKO. But, give it until noon tomorrow please. Would prefer someone argue Bones would win.

Silva is a better fighter, but I think Jones would pull off the upset.

Are we missing that Jones is way bigger and way stronger? 20 pounds is a huge difference for fighters at this level. Not going to argue it, because there are too many people who don't understand this basic fact.

Jones reach is his bread and butter. He has no stand up game but can use his reach and wrestling to his advantage. Silva has the reach and is one or the best striker in MMA. I see Silva winning by Ko
