Staffords' got 29 td's, and 14int's this season, and the Lions, they're good.

I PICK ALEX SMITH.
THIS GUY IS FINALLY HAVING HIS BREAKOUT YEAR, SEVEN YEARS INTO HIS CAREER.
HE HAS PASSED FOR 2,390 YARDS AND 15 TOUCHDOWNS AND ONLY 5 INTERCEPTIONS. AND DONT FORGET THE 49ERS ARE 10-3 RIGHT NOW.

SMITH DID PLAY 11 GAMES LAST YEAR BUT HIS STATS THIS YEAR COMPARED TO LAST ARE WAY BETTER. THIS IS THE FIRST TIME IN HIS CAREER THAT HE HAS HAD A GB RATING OF OVER 90. HE HAS BEEN MORE IMPORANT TO SAN FRANCISCO CAUSE HE HAS PERSONALLY LED FOUR FOURTH QUARTER COMEBACKS THIS YEAR. HE IS ARGUEABLY HAVING A PRO BOWL CALIBER SEASON.

The low INT's is good but the wins are more to do with the rushing game and the San Fran defence. I dont think his passing numbers can be called 'breakout' either. I think he is doing a good job of managing the games but as a comeback player of the year, I think not.

I honestly don't know the answer, but can Alex Smith win comeback player of the year if he's just coming back from being a crappy QB for 6 seasons? I think these two teams are the biggest surprises (even though I predicted Detroit to make the playoffs before the season).
