If you've watched any of Gabbert's games, you'll know, he doesn't throw down the field a lot, and when being rushed, he just throws a curve ball to the dirt. lmao..
Tim Tebow might be getting a little too hyped up, but he's a winner regardless, don't care what anybody says. Tebow's from Jacksvonville Florida, Gainesville's, damn near an hour or so, away, and plenty die hard Tebow fans rest in Jacksonville, Florida. Jaguars' ticket sales are not through the roof or anything, and Wayne Weaver, the Jags owner, has sold some the team now, to an Illinois business man. Being 45 minutes away, I think the Jaguars are a couple years away from L.A., hopefully not, for the sake of my eyes resting upon some football action.
^ wow lol
Anywho, I"m not a totally big diss'er of Gabbert, I just don't think he can turn this team around. I think management feels like they shot themselves in the foot. Much props to the league's leading rusher, and that defense, on certain occasions. Other than that, the Jaguars are toast, and yeah, Tebow woulda been a high pick @ 10, for the draft, but you know, hindsight's 20/20

I'm not going to bash Tebow here. He's been winning and that's really all that matters. But you can't say that Tebow would win on any team he is on. There is no hindsight here.
DEFENSE
That's something that Denver has, that the Jags don't. It's also something that has allowed Denver to do so well.
Any1 who knows anything about football, knows how the Broncos are winning right now.
Play conservative for 3 quarters. No risky passes, no big plays. Let the defense keep you in it and then win in the 4th. That's how they've won almost all of their games with Tebow.
The Jags could not do what Denver has done. That means Tebow would not be winning any games there, at least no more than Gabbert.
U could not just put Tebow with the Jags and say they would be reversed in fortunes.
Tebow could probably do well on most teams with a strong defense. SF, BAL, PIT, etc...
But if you threw him on a terrible team or a team with no defense (the Pats), then Tebow wouldn't be able to do the same things

DEFENSE

Not the last game, for jacksonville, but their defense has put up some numbers this season.
J-ville
5th in the league, in total defense.
5th in the league, against the pass.
So, yeah, Denver has defense, but the Jags do too.. The Jags offense is like watching paint dry on the wall.
Tebow was there for the taking. Jacksonville was talking about him..
Tebow would have sold more seats, possibly saved a franchise.
Tebow's in Denver, Gabberts in J-Ville..
Who's better, right now?
OJ Simpson said 12/17, 01:14 PM
I have to admit, I doubted your stats about their defense, but u are right. On a cursory glance, that is.
The Jags are 5th in total yards given up and 5th against the pass. On the surface, it looks like they are playing good defense.
Both those places in the standings stats wise are actually better than Denver.
HOWEVER:
They are only 13th in points allowed. And they are very inconsistent. Some stinkers they've put up:
32 points by the Jets
30 by the Bengals
38 by the Chargers
41 by the Falcons
They are as likely to give up 30+ points as they are to keep you under 21. It's hard to pinpoint what is going on with these team.
Plus look at their offensive rankings:
Pts - 28th
Yards -32nd
Pass yards - 32nd
Even with Tebow, these numbers are going to be near the bottom of the league. Denver isn't an offensive juggernaut. The Jags wouldn't improve on these numbers.
Tebow being from Florida and going to a Florida team would have been a great PR move. It would definitely bring in more fans. Tebow-mania is a good revenue builder, but building a better team makes more revenue. Do u really think Tebow would have saved the Jags?

Jacksonville is probably the only team in the NFL desperate enough to regret not drafting Tebow.
But looking at the situation in Denver, I don't know why any front office would want him.

Gabbert is still WAY better than Tebow....the only way Tebow would have been successful in Jacksonville is if they also had one of the top D's....which they don't....

the only people that want tebow playing QB are the idiot fans that don't know any better than the TEAM'S record and attribute it ALL to tebow....fact is, he is the worst QB in the NFL by a significant margin even when you include back-ups....he is a Ryan Leaf that managed to find himself on a team that could make him look better than he is...he's a Dilfer, an Eli Manning, a Mark Sanchez....he is at the top of the list of bad QBs that are supported by teams that can overcome the QB's incompetence...thing is, Denver doesn't have the D that got rings for Dilfer with Bmore or Manning with NJ Gints...

I am sold on Tebow, don't get me wrong. However, Jacksonville does not provide enough weapons for a Tebow style offense. You have to give some credit to Denver's defense.

Some credit? How about most of the credit. Twice now he couldn't get his team to score for the first 3 1/2 quarters but was able to win the game because his defense kept them in position to win. Give credit for him making the drives but he needs to understand that there are more than the last 5 minutes of a game because once he plays a good team, it won't matter if he shows up in the last 5 minutes or not.
Just a thought, let's put Lebum James and Tebum together and we would have a complete player since Lebum only plays the first 3 quarters and Tebum plays only the last quarter.

theyre pissed because they drafted that stiff Gabbert in the first place. they should have got Dalton or Kirkpatrick, not that stiff gab.

Tebow would also get smashed with that jaguars offensive line.

You must be thinking of a different Gabbert.
