1. Brady
2. Manning
3. Carson Palmer
4. Brett Favre
5. Donovan Mcnab

If the topic of this TD was top 5 QBs in the NFL this season, I'd have to agree with Derek Anderson.

However, no GM, and I repeat NO GM would call Derek Anderson one of the top 5 QBs in the NFL. He's started just 5 NFL games, and in those 5 games has thrown 8 interceptions. Those are hardly the numbers of a great QB.

In addition, how can you leave Palmer off this list? Unlike Anderson, he has a long track record of success. Even while recovering from knee surgery, Palmer was in the top 7 or 8 in most NFL categories.

How Would you put palmer in front of farve
carson is 160 for 101 for 1171 and 10 tds
brett farve is 210 for141 for 1527 and 9 tds
he might not have as many tds but he has led the packers to a 4-1 start and palmer has led the bengals to a 1-3 start
Where is tony romo is 101 for 171 for 1500 yards and 13 tds
he is leading the cowboys to a 5-0 start and is the 3rd best QB in the NFL
Palmer does not deserve to be up there

C'mon, if you MEAN top 5 NFL QBs this year, then say that. Saying just top 5 NFL QBs implies that you're looking for the top 5 QBs currently in the NFL.

Palmer hasn't really led the Bengals to a 1-3 start.

Was it his fault the D gave up 51 points in a game where he had 6 TD passes?

Is it his fault that his kick returner fumbled the kickoff when they were down by 3 vs. Seattle in the final minute, and had a chance to drive down the field and score again?

Has anyone managed to get anything done vs. the Patriots this year?

No, no, and no. It's not Palmer's fault the team's done so poorly. They've had a tough schedule so far (3 out of their 4 games have been vs. winning teams).

You saw why Romo isn't a top 5 QB last night. When Buffalo blizted, he absolutely folded under pressure. Next week vs. New England, expect him look dazed and confused. He's just outside my top 5.

Yeah The browns (led by anderson) they manged 17 points on new england (they most anyone has scored this year..
Romo Has one of the best completion rateing in the NFL and has the 2nd most tds and yards behind tom brady.
When the bengals played the browns anderson had 5 tds
and 1 pick
palmer had 5 tds and 2 picks
he has 6 picks this year
when they r losing he falls under pressure and throws stupid picks

And the Bengals scored 13 points against New England as opposed to the whopping 17 the Browns score. HUGE difference.

Guess who has the 2nd most interceptions thrown in the league? Romo. Guess who's tied with him? Anderson.

The Bengals have gone up against some of the best defenses in the league too. Half of the Bengals' games have been against top 5 defenses, so while Palmer might not have stats as gaudy as some of the players you mentioned this year, he has been pretty good.

In addition, he's been one of the best QBs for the past 3 years, unlike Anderson who's had a couple good games, and Romo who's yet to play a full season.

Thanks.

Also, on Mcnabb, I realize he's doing bad this season, and he's somewhat injury prone, but I'd take him in a heartbeat over Anderson.

Derek Anderson Is a beast he is leading the AFC North and he is159 for 83 1251 yards and 11 touchdowns

October 9, 2007  07:22 PM ET

The topic isn't clear, is it this year or overall?

October 9, 2007  07:26 PM ET

Who voted for Zman besides himself? Maybe Derek Anderson and his mamma.

October 9, 2007  08:18 PM ET

i gotta go with jesus.... one becuz i would be going against religion and secondly becuz he is CLOSER to being right... the reason i pick him is ... z-man got 3 right ( the gimme picks brady manning and favre) and jesus got 4 with the addition of palmer.... derek anderson got all his hype from the bengals / browns game.... and i have to take tony romo off.... you might say u cant take him down becuz of one game...but the truth is, top 5 QB's dont have bad game (at least not 6 turnover games , 5 int and 1 fumble)

October 9, 2007  08:26 PM ET

my top 5 in order (not just this season):
1 Peyton Manning
2 Tom Brady
3 Big Ben ( hey he might not put up big stats but he wins game and Super Bowls with it)
4 Brett Favre ( he would be number one of course but recent years have brought him down)
5 Carson Palmer

my top 5 in order ( this season only):
1 Tom Brady
2 John Kitna ( how can you miss this guy, he is a monster this year)
3,4,& 5 Carson, Favre, Manning (all have done big but later in the season i will b able to spread them out)

October 9, 2007  08:43 PM ET

I think Palmer has more skill than Favre did. He came into the league late and probably is not going to play for near as long as Favre so he won't put up the numbers to compare to Favre.

October 9, 2007  09:04 PM ET

1 brady
2 manning
3 farve
4 big ben
5 romo

October 9, 2007  09:13 PM ET

1. MANNING then brady

October 10, 2007  03:23 AM ET

Card, Kitna has been sacked 24 times, tops in the league & tied for 5th in ints. can't be top 5...

October 10, 2007  08:44 AM ET

Both your #5s stink. Peyton Manning before Brady. Joey Harrington as #5(Just kidding)

October 10, 2007  09:20 AM ET

Would I rather have Carson Palmer or Derek Anderson leading my team?
Yeah, there's a tough one.

Point to the b-ball savior.
