These Questions were put forth in the CBS Sports magazine for each team: I will answer the Q yes or No.

Disagree? Throwdown!

Q: Do the Suns have enough to beat the Spurs?

Yes they almost did it last year- They did not do much to improve, but neither did the Spurs- The only change between the two is that Dallas is coming back angry and the Rockets and Hornets got much better- should cost them a few games- While on the Suns Side- The Clippers got MUCH worse- the Kings are not much better, and the Warriors lost Jason Richardson. This may give the Suns a 1 seed and Home cooking may pust them to the NBA title.

No they do not. They've been burned by the Spurs too many times now. The Spurs have their number and I think it's affected their psychi (is that spelled right?). Steve Nash is a great player, but he's not getting any younger. Duncan is older too, but he's still at the top of his game.

I think the "burn" from last year will give them a mission this year to show that it was the refs that stopped them last year- not the spurs- and the way that the Spurs won the title after beating them with ease will show the entire club that those rings should have been there.

Coaches will use any tools they have to motivate players

and that should give them about 100 games worth

But you made the Spurs argument in your opening. The Suns didn't do much to improve. Neither did the Spurs, but they're not the ones that need to. They resigned Bowen, Manu and Parker are more experienced, and Duncan is still the man. He's won 4 titles now with essentially 3 different teams. Suns didn't do enough to get them over the hump.

The Spurs arguement is the Question-

The Suns didn;t improve?

Name of Grant Hill ring any bells?
He had been hurt yes- but he played in 65 games last year and is supposed to be 100% again for this year. and he is a VAST improvement over James Jones' 6.4 ppg 2.3 rpg and 0.6 apg -- Hill's numbers? 14.4 ppg 3.6 rpg and 2.1 apg- and lets not forget that Hill has run up numerous triple doubles and is expected to play Point forward when Nash hits the bench

Still not enough to put up any great numbers when defended by Bowen. Stoudemire is a good player, but not nearly as good as Duncan, and tends to fade in the playoffs. Marion wants out and will likely be traded. Manu's improved, Parker's improved, and Horry is coming back. The Spurs defense is too good for the Suns to overtake them in the West. They haven't done it in recent history and are not about to do it now.

The Suns have enough and then some.

David, don't mean to skip out on you, but I gotta go. I'll submit my final argument tomorrow in the morning. Good TD.

Good TD Dave, it's good going up a HOFamer. BTW, I thought I had 3 votes a little bit ago?

Eff the Spurms.

Amare fades in the playoffs?

Reg season: 20.4 PPG & 9.6 RPG

VS. Lakers: 24.2 PPG & 13.6 RPG
VS. Spurs: 26.4 PPG & 10.6 RPG

At least do a little research before speaking out of ignorance.

You're right, he did play well in the last playoffs.

Hmm...this is tough. I like the Suns, but I'm just not sure. I'm not totally sold that Grant Hill was a great acquisition. But my vote goes to Carolina because I do think the Suns will be motivated enough to beat the Spurs finally

btw great throwdown to both of you
