1-Green Bay
The Packers defense is suspect, but their offense is great and they are clearly the favorites.
2-New Orleans
The best team to test the Packers and possibly represent the NFC.
3-New York
The 49ers are good, but they had an easy schedule and I think the Giants represent more of a challenge to the Big 2 than the 49ers do. I basically trust Eli more than Smith.
4-San Francisco
See above. The defense is good, but their pass defense isn't very good.
5-Detroit
The Lions have an explosive offense, but their defense is their downfall.
6-Atlanta
The Falcons are the worst of the 6 playoff teams.

I agree with most of your list..
but the GMEN at 3 is too high..
new york is incredibly schizo..
to have them over the 49ers is too much..
the 49ers had a great season, oh, and they beat the Gmen..
lets face it, if the Gmens division wasnt a complete joke, they would be sitting on the couch right now..
when Gmen are on, I rank them 4th..
when they are off, they cant even beat their own moms!
it would not surprise me if they lost meekly to the falcons..
but im a huge fan of victor cruz..
and if the saints can rack up points, yes the gmen should to..
but the fact that alot of people are contemplating a falcons win, (not me),
shows that the GMEN should not be ahead of the 49ers..
looks like GB, GOT a sweet draw to the NFC championship..
cause we have already seen the GMEN lose to the pack,
and falcons aint an elite team..
the 49ers will definitely be able to stop the run vs saints..
thats as mean of an offensive line, I have ever seen..
and if they can put pressure on brees, maybe they can cool him down abit..
Bottom line 49ers have a better chance of making NFC championship,
than the GMEN..

The Gmen are too high?
New York beat New England, 24-20, and they lost a close game (38-35) to Green Bay. The Giants are a very dangerous team right now. I know they are very inconsistent, but in a big game, they are capable of pulling off an upset.
"Bottom line 49ers have a better chance of making NFC championship,
than the GMEN.."
No way. I know the 49ers have an impressive scoring defense, but the Giants are capable of scoring with anybody. SF is not. You stop their running game and force Smith into obvious passing downs and he cannot win a game like Eli is capable of doing.
Eli threw for just under 5,000 yards (4,933 to be exact), he threw for 400 yards 3 times, and at least 300 yards 8 times.
Smith barely thre for 3,000 yards, he never threw for 300 yards, and threw for at least 200 yards just 7 times.
The Giants are a team that can hang with any team because of their potent offense.

Hey if you want to fall in love with a 9-7 team, you go right ahead..
I personally have more faith in the 49ers, who have a solid 13-3 record..
Lets look at all the impressive wins San Fran has got;
Seattle, TWICE, with Lynch, they were no slouches..
Bengals, a very consistent, all-rounded team..
philie, no one wanted to play them..
Lions..
YOUR GMEN!
Zona
Pitt, ok ok big ben was injured, but, still, a win is a win..
Thats 8 big wins.. The only noticeable loss was to the Ravens.. Zona came out of nowhere.. And dallas was an OT loss..
How many big wins did the GMEN have?
Philie, zona, PATS,
Cowboys twice and a sucky jets..
I will give you 5 big wins..
Not to mention that GMEN went 3-5 down the stretch..
This team has less sex appeal, than Lindsey Lohan after a night of being a crack who-re..
Lets not forget that the road to the SB for the severely inconsistent GMEN is on the road..
I just don't know what people see in the GMEN..
They are just too inconsistent.. And their defense is almost as bad as the Pats, (GMEN are 29th at stopping the pass)..
I know this was the year of offense..
But the most all rounded teams, are teams I fall in love with..
DJRoxalot said 01/04, 11:08 AM
Seattle? They were 7-9 and under .500.
The sucky Jets were better than the Seahawks.
Sure, the Giants lost to the 49ers. But, it was hardly a blowout. If they were to meet again, I have full confidence that NY would beat SF and gain a measure of revenge. I doubt the 49ers make it past the 2nd round so it's highly unlikely.
"Not to mention that GMEN went 3-5 down the stretch.."
The Giants are 9-7, sure. I can't argue that. But, they also had 10 games against teams .500 or better. They had an insanely difficult schedule, tied for 8th toughest in the League. And the last half of the season was beastly.
The 49ers faced the 2nd easiest schedule, against opponents with a combined winning record of 44.9%.
"Lets not forget that the road to the SB for the severely inconsistent GMEN is on the road.."
Same could be said of the year they won the SB vs the Pats. But, Eli is better now and has grown substantially as a QB.
You gotta find your own cake!!!

Look, lets be realistic.
GMEN have a 55% chance of beating atlanta.
Then new york has a at best 40% chance of beating GB.
Meanwhile 49ers have a 45% chance of beating Saints.
If you look at the numbers, 49ers clearly have a better chance of making the NFC Championship.
Why does GMEN ONLY have a 55% chance of beating the falcons?
Ryan improved dramatically this season.
He threw for 29TDs, (same as Eli's), AND 4177 yards, with a 92.2 passer rating, all career bests.
Yeah, he had a meek performance against GB last year.. But Im expecting bigger things from Ryan, this weekend.
Ryan also has 2 WR to throw to, with Roddy White and Julio Jones, combining for OVER 2000 yards between them!
Plus their RB is always consistent.
Since the GMen are 29th at stopping the pass.
Im expecting the falcons to get a feast of points.
While the GMEN are;
"road warriors"
They were kind of sucky at home this year, going 4-4.
With wins over wowy st louis, a suspect buffalo, a miami team that was winless AND finally a decent 8-8 cowboys team, being their lone big win.
While I do expect the GMEN to win vs falcons..
The upset would not surprise me.
49ers is a safer bet!

The Bears could have made it 3 teams from the same division if not for the 2 main injuries.

You say this while touting the 49ers?
NFCE had only the Redskins finish below .500
NFCW aside from San Fran finished with a record of 17-31
That said, the Giants and the Broncos are the only two playoff teams that actually allowed more points than they scored. I don't think either is going very far.

After the Packers and Saints it really doesn't matter what order you put the other 4...none of them are near the level of the first two.

The Giants have the best chance of stopping the Packers.
The Saints defense has been just as suspect as the Packers yet no one mentions that. Their road struggles are finally starting to get some attention.
The Giants seem to play better away from home. They get after the QB with the best pass rush in the playoffs and they can score as well. Sorry people but you have to look at the match ups. No one is going into Lambeau and winning a shot out. They just won a shot out with their back ups against a respectable opponent. You have to get hits on Rodgers to have a prayer.
