There is no way he will be on the bench come next season. The fans would go crazy is he was not out there leading the Broncos. He took a 1-4 team to the playoffs and then beat the defending AFC Champs in the first round (I'm still not happy about that). Not to mention his 6 game winning streak.
He also has the organizations support on his side. John Elways loves him. Coach Fox wants him to be there starter and his teammates love his fire and passion for the game. They are behind him 100%.
If Tebow isn't the starter come Week 1 the Broncos will lose the majority of their fan base.
The Book of Tebow said 01/16, 02:42 PM
No. He won't.
This team has no faith in Tim Tebow, and will trade him this offseason.
John Elway can withstand the backlash. But based off Tebow's play, and how they have responded to it so far, I can't see any possibly way they keep him.
Elway and Fox won't complete build an offense for a quarterback who completes less than 50% of his passes, and shown down the stretch to be ineffective at quarterback. Given the position he was put in (Lack of talent at WR/TE/RB, changing playbooks, media pressure, lack of confidence from coaches), Tebow did what he could, got lucky, won some games, and a unintionally created a sideshow, which allowed his W's to overshawdow the actual truth. Tim Tebow is a young quarterback with promise and intangibles this world has never seen, but also who needs lots of work to be effective consistanly.
That means building an offense around his strength, and having a coaching staff constantly working on his weaknesses. That would be nice, if he had Josh McDaniels. But he has John Fox, and John Elway, who want nothing to do with this.
Elway will take the fall for it. Denver will move on.
Tebow will start...
For the Washington Redskins. MTC
MorningWoodley said 01/16, 06:47 PM
So you say that Tebow will play for the Redskins? Really? What would the Broncos gain from the Redskins? Nothing. The Redskins have nothing that the Broncos could want. Plus John Elway will never let him leave.
John Elway said a couple of hours ago that Tebow deserves to be the starting quarterback going into training camp. Unless they draft a starting caliber quarterback, there is no way that anyone is gunna start over Tebow.
Who else is going to start over Tebow? There is no one that they can get that will start over him.
Also, Why are you arguing this if your name is the book of tebow?

The Book of Tebow said 01/16, 10:00 PM
Elway is telling people what they want to hear.
If Elway wanted Tebow, he would have started him from day one.
If Elway and Fox wanted Tebow to succeed, they wouldn't have traded his only threat at WR.
If Elway and Fox truly believe in Tebow their wouldn't have been rumors about Brady Quinn just 2 weeks agaon.
Elway and Fox see the production (or lack there of) on the field. Tebow has the highest trade value at this moment, because of record and the intangibles. The league is full of teams with questions at the quarterback position.
Do I believe an exec, who up until a month ago, had no endorsment for his young quarterback, and a head coach, who up until 2 weeks ago, was going to pull his QB for Brady Quinn in a playoff game? This is the same team, who reportedly deligated Tebow to 4th string before the season. How much do they really believe?
I say the Redskins. One because Redskins love star power. Two, They need a quarterback. 3 Shanahan went to war with Grossman and Beck. Imagine what he thinks he could do with Tebow.
I expect Denver to move Tebow before the season next year. Big mistake, but I expect it
I'm not sold on Anyone word in January.
MorningWoodley said 01/17, 05:00 PM
So your telling me that Tebow isn't good but he has the highest trade value? Now your just not making sense.
The Book of Tebow said 01/17, 06:37 PM
Do you know how trade value works?
Yes his production was awful at times, but what he has three things going for him. 1) His team went 8-5, while he was the starting quarterback. 2) He just won a playoff game, in which is played extremely well, and shown flashes of brilliance, which raises his potential, which at an young age with the intangibles he has, makes him very valuable, and 3) we are in a passing league where several teams don't have an answer at QB. Also how many QB's in the draft could start next season? Would you rather have the 3rd best QB in the draft or get a guy who won a playoff game and shown flashes of brilliance.
Trade value works with supply and demand. Luck is a Colt, and RG3 isn't going past 4. Matt Flynn has 2 good games, and then free agent start at the Jason Campbell range. There is a big demand at QB, and you have a 23-year old, with insane intangibles, who just threw all over the number 1 ranked D, with no offensive support, and an Exec, who doesn't want him.
Again production and trade value often don't go hand in hand. Why Carson Palmer gets 2 1st-rounders, and Brandon Lloyd gets a 5th.
Again Elway don't want Tebow. He will be gone

He will be, but the better question is should he be.

I don't really think there should be much debate as to who should open the season as the starter.
Whether or not he can last the 16 game season next year, that could get interesting.

Or maybe better yet, how much credit has Tebow built up with Denver fans?
I mean, if the team goes 6-10 next year with Tebow completing less than half his passes, will Denver fans still be happy with him?

Although 6-10 might be good enough to win the AFC West.

Easy win much? Unless they pick up another QB do they have a choice? You never know though with Peyton Manning potentially on the move....

To start the season yes............to end the season no. I also doubt he truly has Elway's or even Fox's true support.

This TD is impossible to win. I'd take it but I agree that Tebow will be the starter as they really don't have a better option at this point in time.

It wouldn't surprise me if Elway picked Tannehill or somebody in the first round.

Of course he will be but he shouldn't be.
The Broncos had a resurgence but it was against bad teams. Everyone they beat with Tebow as the starter in the regular season where non-playoff teams. The Steelers where banged up and playing with a QB that couldn't do what he does best, extend the play.
When you QB can't even throw a spiral consistently than its time to look for a new QB. Not saying Tebow can't make a difference on the Broncos but just don't play him at QB. This option stuff won't work long term. The defenses will be ready for it next year and Tebow will be lost. The playoff win vs the Steelers set this team back at least year now because people feel Tebow should get the start.

I think there are plenty of options. If Manning isn't staying in Indy and is healthy I think Denver would be an attractive place for him to come play. Good WRs, good defense and a running game. Seems like there are just missing one thing and Manning can provide that. He can bridge the gap for a young QB that they draft in a later round this year or next.
Shaun Hill had a pretty good year last year filling in for Stafford. I think he can be a better starter than Matt Flynn who will get looks from several places. Jason Campbell is a better option than Tebow. I think there are options out there this year.

That is just training camp. You can still debate if the Broncos will bring in some real competition.

Well, considering he's the only QB the Broncos have under contract right now anything else is pure speculation as to bringing someone in and really not debatable. The announcement just solidifies that the Broncos intend for him to be the starter next season.
