1. Carlos Tevez, soccer nutter..
You know things are bad, when your best player runs thousands of miles away, to go play golf in argentina.. And because he is such a head case, its impossible to get decent market value for him.. No team is willing to but this nutter for 30million, which is what City are asking for.. Paris and the 2 Milans want tevez for 20million.. The only alternative, is to rot him on the bench..

2. Johnny Damon..
This one still hurts us Red Sox fans..
Back in 2007, Epstein gets in a pissing contest with the owner, temporarily loses power.
Yankees see a golden moment of opportunity, and steal Bostons most beloved player..
I had a Johhny Damon red sox jersey.. And I had to throw it away:( Thats the only time I have ever thrown a Jersey away..

3. Torres.. Beauty has its price..
Due to Liverpool unable to make the champions league.. Torres forces their hand, by demanding a trade to a contender..
50 million pounds? And he turns out to be a bum..

Honourable mention;
Peyton Manning.. Technically the dispute is going on as we speak..
This thing could get ugly in a hurry..
+
Eli Manning forcing San Diego to trade him, only to break Pats hearts..

1. Johnny Damon - I agree that that is a huge dispute

2. Lebron's "Decision" - This was very recent and a HUGE deal so i'm suprised you didnt have it on here. The way he had a special hour long TV showing to make his decision crushed the Cleveland Fans. People were burning his jersey and hate him. Then when in Miami he had a celebration down there that was very public. Lebron was pretty much an a**hole to Cleveland and now they hate him for it.

3. The Jagr vs Penguins battle - Jagr was one of the Pens best players, winning many scoring titles with the Pens and winning a stanely cup. Suddenly Jagr decided that he wanted more money and left to go play with the Capitals. This offseason, Jagr was a free agent and was talking to the Pens about rejoining the team. The Pens thought that Jagr was trying to make ammends with them by rejoining their team. At the last minute, Jagr decided to join the Pens rivals, the Flyers. Jagr not only betrayed the Pens once, but twice.

Finally, I would not view the Eli Manning one as that big of a deal because they did end up getting Phillip Rivers.

Your 2 changes were pretty good..

I kind of ran out of room, after 3, which is why I did not add Lebron..
Plus I wanted to come up with a different list, than most people..

Ok, here we go.. Allow me to Attack your opinions:)

First off.. I personally thought the Eli Manning thing was outrageously awful..
I have never heard of "DADDY" coming into the situation, and saying that San Diego is an awful organisation, bad team, bad owners etc etc.. I thought it was incredibly unnprofessional.. And unfortunately for Eli, it kind of made Eli look like a bit of a 23 year old baby.. In hindsight, I guess it didnt hurt too bad, cause they got Rivers.. But at the time, I remember, even I felt uneasy..

Tevez vs Lebron..
These are our 2 heavyweights..
In one sense Lebron's is worse, cause Cleveland didnt trade him, got nothing for him.. And when James left, their Dynasty was destroyed..
But If we are talking about, bigger headache.. Tevez is as ugly as it gets..
I cant recall a professional athlete, saying, right! Im fed up! and now Im going to go play golf in argentina! What an idiot.. I really hope this Ruins this spoilt brats career.. And Im not even a man chitty fan, ha ha..

Are you agreeing with me that the Lebron decision was worse? Because it defiantly was. The man was a complete jerk about it. Cleveland was 61-21 with him in 09-10 and last year they were 19-63. that is a huge turn around and is frankly pathetic. Lebron was there whole team, he knew that, and still left.

Also, let me clarify. I meant that Eli wasn't bad enough to make the top 3 on this list. My one and two can easily be flipped around but Eli's situation was not bad enough to make this list because it worked out decently for both sides.

Clearly Lebron is on this list and maybe even at the top of it. What he did made Eli's and Peyton's situations look like no big deal.

Torres vs jagr..

Yours was better..

While lebron vs tevez are both bad..
The tevez saga has potential to go on for 2.5years!
Tevez messed up city, now city will mess up tevez..
At least James was quick..

Elise father is unprofessional..
I don't like his agenda..
It's like he treats his kids like they are6..

What do you mean Lebron was quick? Cleveland is still hurting and still hates him. Cleveland is still not a good team or even a half decent team. You go from best record in the league to having the first round draft pick. Thats unheard of.

You said it yourself that Lebron was worse and it is/was. "In one sense Lebron's is worse, cause Cleveland didnt trade him, got nothing for him.. And when James left, their Dynasty was destroyed.."

If you agree then why are we arguing? Give me the W and lets move on ok?

I don't see the Manning situation getting to ugly but it could. I think the sides will come to the conclusion it is best for all parties to move on.

the big problem Archie had with San Diego was that for years their draft picks would end up holding out and missing all of camp and sometimes into the season before the contract was settled. he had visions of this happening to Eli and then getting thrown to the wolves a few weeks later and hurting his career. Archie has acted as an advisor to both players since high school, and why not? it's a case of been there, done that. most players do have advisors as well as their agents, just so happens it's their dad. I don't really remember the situation becoming ugly tho and it's not like he was the first...........seem to recall Elway threatening to play baseball rather than play for the Colts and was actually about to sign a contract with the
Yankees when the Colts traded his rights to the Broncos

Left saying Cleveland had an NBA Dynasty when they still has Lebron is a big stretch, isn't it?

I mean don't you need to win a title or 3 first ?

January 26, 2012  12:47 PM ET

*had Lebron

January 26, 2012  12:50 PM ET

Eli definately wasn't the first. DT is right, Elway did by refusing to play for the Colts.

Eric Lindros refused to play for Quebec. Quebec then became the Avalanche and won multiple rings in large part thanks to that trade

Oh Yeah! Forgot about that one.

Unfortunately the Sox have a made a habit of this. Pedro Martinez could be on this list as well.

January 26, 2012  01:16 PM ET

lebron has to be number 1.

pedro, nomar, manny......lets also forget that bronson arroyo gave the sox a considerable hometown discount in an extension(against the advice of his agent) because he wanted to remain a red sox for life, and was then traded a month later. very classy.

January 26, 2012  01:26 PM ET

The Cavs did trade LeBron. It was a sign and trade. Don't remember who they got, though.

January 26, 2012  01:34 PM ET

There was actually no real "dispute" with LeBron's decision. He wanted to play elsewhere and there was nothing Cleveland could do about it.
