Novel Idea, Terrible execution. Lets look how they can improve

Layout. T&R sections needs completely rebuilding and editing of so many vauge stories with no sources what-so-ever. Blogs are a mess. For those who do take time to write good blogs, they should be rewarded for thier talents. Those blogs and bloggers who write well, should be featured on this site. The community part can be completely deleted and so can the fantasy part. The Messege Boards should be moved to SI.com and be WAYYY more organized. We will get to throwdowns later.

Facebook. Everything is facebook connected. Fannation hasn't gotten the Memo. Instead of making a profile, lets your facebook profile be you. That way, if you want to get more outsides to view your blogs, throwdowns, messege boards post, or truth and rumors you have a chance. This brings in more looks, more intellegent people, more stupid people, but a bigger community, which makes a better website.

More SI.com Interration. Wouldn't be interesting to see Peter King and Don Banks in a throwdown? Or how about being able to comment on a Chris Mannix Blog? If It weren't for ad's you wouldn't know si.com had anything to do with this site.

MTC

All 3 of your improvements pale in comparison to the actual problems that are found on this site.

Who cares about the layout? I would rather the site work properly than be layed out differently.

Nobody is going to want to use their actual name/picture as their account on a site like this. The community doesn't need to be bigger. There are already 2 million "users" on this site.

And it says right under the Fannation link at the top of this page that it is an "SI Network Site", so I think everyone already knows.

On to the real problems.

1. Lag - Sometimes it takes a hour to even log on to the site. Certain things work, certain things don't. And the dreaded spinny thing when commenting and white screen when changing pages also need to go. Infuriating, to say the least.

2. Multiple Accounts - There has to be some sort of verification process put in place when someone signs up that only allows one account per user. Dupes/Alters run rampant on this site and basically ruin the TD section.

3. TD Voting - Don't allow voting until after 2 arguments are already in. A simple fix that will leave most TDers appreciative.

P.S. - Arnie

Multiple Accounts would be fix through the facebook connection. Also you could still have a profile and all your information hidden from those you didn't want to see it.

Throwdowns. Awesome atrraction to this site.

A way to fix these is simple. Better regulations, Better Voting, Si.Com participation, Better timing (some last 3 days), Better Layout, and Prizes. I don't mean cash or anything but recognizition for those who are the best, and possibily organized tournaments.

Regulations and Layout: Catorgorize these things by sport. Have Pre-made topics that are regularly updated (who will win the Superbowl), and others that can be customized (Rastlin Td)

Voting- U say 2 argument. I say 3. Also have "registered" voters. AKA people who particpate In a certain amount of TD's

Si.com participation. Again Have writers participate, either against each other, or against fannation users

Timing: 24 hours is crazy. 6 Hours Max. Also 1500 hundred max. A extra paragragh an argument wouldn't' hurt

Prizes: Recognizing the best and featuring them on the site.

Again Improve Throwdowns, and Orginazation of blogs, and you have a concept that can grow into something better. MTC

Again, NOBODY is going to want to use their Facebook account to register for this site. Myself included.

As far as voting goes, there is no reason to have to wait until every argument is in before voting can start. Oftentimes, the average voter knows what way they are voting after 2 arguments. Why make them wait up to 6 days total before casting their vote. Voting after 2 arguments each is fine.

What do you mean "have writers participate"? Do you actually think that paid sports writers are going to want to compete against random FN users? Hell no. They already "won" by being a good enough writer to get paid for it.

The 6 hours between arguments thing is just moronic, to say the least. What if someone on the east coast is against someone on the west coast? The west coast guy could post his argument at Midnight EST, and the other guy would have to research and post his argument by 6 a.m. It's just not possible. 24 hours is a fine limit.

Lag and dupes are far bigger issues than anything you have mentioned thus far, and as Yoda said below, they are the main reasons that tons of long-time members have left the site.

The most frustrating issues come first.

I'mma lose... nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!

I doubt I will get a response from Book of Tebow about forfeiting, so I will just post another short argument.

Last thing that needs changed immediately on this site is that you have to be able to forfeit a turn. The fact that all TDs that are forgotten about end up living for months at a time.

It's ridiculous.

How can one argue against improving a site that hasn't changed significantly since 2008?

Facebook is connected with Fannation a bit. When you blog, you have the option to "publish to facebook."

Like him or hate him, but CCC is one of the finest TDers on this site.

Regardless of raw numbers (where CCC leads by a long shot), CCC has nearly a 70% win rate, and Jim has a 64%. So there's that number.
