NFL FAN CLUB- If you were Dan Marino, would you rather have Favre or Manning hold the all time Touchdown record?(Assuming Manning breaks it)

I am going to go with Peyton. He has mirrored the career of Dan, and up until last year, was in the same sentence, while talking about Greatest QB's who never won a Championship.

Peyton, 5 games into his 10th season, has 38905 yds, 285 TD's, 141 Int.
Dan Marino through a complete 10 seasons, had 39502 yds, 290 TD's, 149 Int's
Brett through 10 complete seasons, had 38627yds, 255 TD's, 287 TD's, 172 INT's.

Favre has never had a season with under 10 INT's, meaning he is more careless, and risky then both Dan and Peyton.

Peyton has the one advantage over Brett, overcoming all odds, and all NAYSAYERS, and winning the big one, just like Dan always wished he could've done. Both Peyton and Dan are great TV personalities.

Brett is a great man, great QB, and the epitome of heart and will, but what he is not, is one of the GREATEST PURE PASSERS in the game. Everyone knows and is waiting for the time when Peyton takes his place atop all leaderboards.

BTW- not a fan of this topic, as speaking for someone else and their opinions is fruitless, and can never amount to any truth. GL SC!!!

Why would Marino want anyone other than the loveable,"pure football player" who is John Madden's Man-Crush?

Why would he take Herman Munster the Robotic QB when he can have the kid-at-heart cajun...especially when that Man-of-the-South is just so darned perfectly imperfect? Face it, Favre's the People's Champion anyway. Manning is going to kick Dan's butt when it's all said and done.

Therefore, Marino asks himself if his record is going to get broken by one of them, why not the guy with the all-time INT record as well?

That's Mr. Fahv-Ruh. He tosses one pick to Washington Sunday, he breaks Blanda's 32-year-old record, and, uh...that dude played for 26 seasons. TWENTY SIX! That means Vinny Testeverde was, like, a rookie when Blanda retired!

If Manning breaks Marino's record, it hels his case as the best QB ever. Favre's charm, combined with gun-slinging mentality make him a fan favorite. But he doesn't make the fans forget Marino. Peyton does, however.

Having a QB who has a current streak of 14 consecutive seasons throwing 13+ interceptions break his record can't bother Marino too much. Manning already has him in the individual season record (49-48).

Neither. Vinny Testaverde

Vinny T!!! Hillarious!

I literally LOL'd when I saw he was signed.

He will never retire. He will live forever.

I'm not sure why Marino would really care. In fact, I don't think he does! No offense.

Just like Clemens. Roger will be 75 years old with a sign in his front yard reading "Rent a Pitcher: $20+ Million For Every Half A Season".

If I was Dan Marino, I would care.

Wallace, you now know how I feel.

Why would you care who broke your record. You would care if someone broke it but not who, There is exceptions for those kind of things:(If they cheat like barry bonds)

Favre

Manning is more likely to have an inflated ego because of it....Favre is as down to earth as the average Joe

Report Offensive Comment

dj - not true. I asked Peyton for an autograph and not only did he sign, he came over and mowed my lawn. When I asked Brett, he spit in my face and kicked my dog.

Wait Favre is like an average Joe then.

Vote to cooz.

I'd say Marino would rather have Favre have it. I think Marino knows Favre got there on some less talented teams over the years. Peyton really hasn't had a bad team since coming into the league.

I like Favre, but I think Manning is a better QB overall. I don't see Manning breaking the soon-to-be Favre record for most interceptions. You will be hard pressed to find a more mechanically sound QB who makes few mistakes than Manning. (Brady is a close second).

If you lived in N.O. or Indy you would see what a down to earth guy Peyton is. He just had a new Children's hospital built, among other things. He carried on a lot of the Reggie Miller Charities when the Reg stopped playing. There is more to tell but not enough room too tell it. I like Favre too, but P. Manning is a true student of the game. Peyton did play on bad teams too. that is how they got pick #1 for him and picked Edge the very next year.

JUST IN CASE YOU MISSED IT PACKBREW, Peyton's team, WITH MARVIN HARRISON, was 3-13 in 98, picked him first overall, were 3-13 in 99, and PEYTON turned them around to 13-3 in '00

Get this whole Marvin harrison was good before Peyton out of your head.......Marvin LOVES Peyton, and OWES Peyton everything.

Was this Week 4?

Marvin Harrison was good when he got a good QB, and not one season before.
