I pick the raiders. At this moment of time they are in first place by a half a game. But my main reason is that the raiders have a playoff defense and the raiders's o-line has really improved from last year when they were awful.Lamont Jordan has had a great year.He is 2nd in the nfl in rushing yards.Daunte looks like he is back from the knee trouble with 3 rushing TD but he does need to throw it more efficent then 7-15 aganist the dolphins.Curry has been a solid wr target for there qb.Remeber that they could be 3-1 if it was not for mike Shanahan's time-out scandal aganist the raider's kicker.I will argue more tommorow evening school so you have to wait

Id have to say the lions, they simply have the weakest division, the raiders have the chargers, who may have found their groove again and the titans have the colts, who will win at least 13 games this year

have you seen the lion's defense aganist philly and the redskins and you still have the packers WHO are talented. The raiders have a solid team with a good running atttack with lamont jordan and now rhodes is coming back which meaans a better running attack. The lions don't run the football and Kitna will make mistakes so they won't win there division

the packers have talent, but the lions when healthy have one of the best offenses in football, kevin jones will come around and when calvin johnson is healthy the offense will be better than martz's greatest show on turf in st.louis, as for the raiders they have 3 qb's therefore they have none, mccown is unreliable, and without randy moss culpepper is useless, and jamarcus russell wont be ready until next year

But how many teams have 2 solid qb thought so. Yes but there defense has struggles aganist the eagles who had 7 points aganist the giants. The lions offense is great don't get me wrong but there defense sucks that is what there defense is.The raiders have a great running back with jordan.Daunte and Josh are solid qb both can win games for you

oakland is a solid and surprising team dont get me wrong, but theyre in the same division as san diego, probably the team with the most talent in the league, LT, Gates, Merriman, Rivers, Williams, Neal, only the patriots and colts have a more solid group of core players, i just believe detroit has the best chance out of the 3 teams because of their weak division, green bay has no running game and that will catch up with them quicker than detroits lack of d

Not even I could've seen the Raiders leading the NFL in RYPG by over 25 YPG

"and without randy moss culpepper is useless"

I just saw this.

WOW, what a dumb statement.

October 11, 2007  11:11 PM ET

howd he do in minnesota after moss, miami, did he throw for 100 yards his first start with oakland

ahh thats right

October 11, 2007  11:14 PM ET

He attempted 12 passes you dumbass.

October 11, 2007  11:18 PM ET

that almost hurt, and yet CULPEPPER IS STILL OVERRATED WITHOUT RANDY MOSS

October 11, 2007  11:19 PM ET

Plus we put up 299 Rushing Yards and 3 TDs (all Culpepper) on them.

Besides, Culpepper threw for >100 yards in his debut against Cleveland.

October 11, 2007  11:21 PM ET

idunno i just dont think culpepper is that good

October 11, 2007  11:22 PM ET

So you're basing him on a year where he had. . .

1) 2005 - No receivers at all. They consistently dropped passes and couldn't get open. There was also NO running game, plus he blew out his knee.

2) 2006 - Miami just sucked, that is all. He was sacked 21 times in 4 games, and never had a chance. His knee wasn't fixed and Miami rushed him back WAY too early. He really only had ONE bad game though.

3) 2007 - Ah, 100.3, only been sacked twice. Rushed for 3 TDs. He's healthy and will be great.

October 11, 2007  11:23 PM ET

Oh, and how can the Lions have a better chance when they play the PACKERS twice!?

GB could easily hang a 50 burger on DET, possibly a 60 burger

October 11, 2007  11:24 PM ET

Not to be a downer but none of these have a chance at their division or the wild card. The Raiders at best will be 3rd in their division behind SD and Denver. But in reality the Raiders will be last.
The Lions will finish behind GB and Chicago. I like Kitna but sold on the coach or the rest of the players. Slim shot at the wildcard.
Redskins have a good chance to finish last. The Cowboys, Eagles and Giants are all better.
As long as Titans have the Colts in their division they have no shot. The Jags wil also finish ahead of them.

Dont think the Raiders will but of those teams, Raiders....

Slate is an idiot

Washington is gonna go 7-9 but their D shut down the Lions who may go 6-10 or 7-9
