Easy. Chael Sonnen vs Anderson Silva 2. The 1st fight was amazing. Sonnen dominating Anderson for 4.5 rounds before succumbing to a leg triangle with under 2 mins left in the fight.

The smack talk from Sonnen heading into that fight was epic. The smack talk has been raised a level by Sonnen and rightfully so. He knows he kicked Anderson's ass all over the octagon that night.

On the other hand Anderson believes injuries slowed him down in the fight and believes Sonnen cheated by using PED's.

Now the 2nd fight is targeted to take place in Anderson's backyard, Brazil. Sonnen will be Brazil's most hated man that night, and its a fight I'm looking forward toi most the rest of this year.

If you believe there is a better fight watch this and tell me that with a straight face. Good luck to anyone who accepts this TD.

Much as I loves me some Chael, The Fight I most want to see is . . .

JDS vs Overeem

K-1 Champion who stuffed Brock vs the guy who squished Brown Pride in 64 seconds

Here's the Problem with Sonnen/Silva

We saw it.

Sonnen is going to try and take him down, Silva is going to work submissions on his back, and beat the snot out of him standing.

Rinse, repeat for 25 minutes.

Now JDS vs AO?

What happens? Does JDS try and pull guard? Does he try and clinch? Does he use kicks to force distance? Does AO try and go all Jason X on JDS? Does he work inside and bust him up?

Is the second fight going to live up to the first?

How many MMA rematches have been better the second time around? (Other than Chuck/Randy)

Not to mention the fact that if the Sonnen that showed up on FOX shows up in Brazil?

Silva's gonna kill him.

JDS vs AO is a fight I want to see too. But it just doesn't carry the same epic nature of Sonnen vs Silva.

Lesbe honest here. People love feuds. They love bad blood. They love rematches. JDS vs Overeem has none of that.

Will JDS vs Overeem be a great fight? I don't think it will. It's a fight I want to see but I don't think seeing one guy get KO'd in a round constitutes a great fight. Someone is probably going to sleep quickly in that fight.

You seem to have a lot of questions about JDS vs Reem. My question is why? You really see someone pulling guard? HA! Both guys are going to stand there and trade until the other falls. Its pretty simple.

There are more questions about Sonnen vs Silva. Can Chael impose his wrestling once again? Can he ground and pound while avoiding sub attempts? Will Anderson keep the fight standing now that he's healthy and finish Chael with strikes?

MMA rematches have shown to be great fights. See Edgar-Maynard 2 and 3 for examples. Those were epic fights.

Add in all the trash talk from Chael, and the fight being in Brazil with the stuff Chael has said about Brazilians. It all adds up to the biggest and most anticipated fight of 2012.

How many Title Rematches have the UFC has that were worth it?

Timmy vs Arlovski
Henderson vs Cerrone
Chuck vs Babalu
Matt Hughes vs Trigg
Randy vs Rizzo

Heck, even Anderson had a rematch with Rich Franklin- how great was THAT fight (If you like one-sided arse-whuppins)

Even the best fight in UFC history- Forrest vs Bonner was awesome- rematch? Not so much

Title rematches are no sure thing.

Even though I am a huge fan of the smack-talking and the build, the fight STILL is the thing.
(See Ortiz,Tito vs Forrest rematch)

Sonnen on his BEST Roid-ridden day COULD NOT DO IT.

I personally think BISPING won that fight, and Bisping's striking is FAR behind Anderson. Whom is 100% (UNLIKE last time), Anderson will be fighting at home, with the crowd totally behind him, plus a TON of tape on Sonnen to watch. Anderson has done nothing but hang out with Segal, and in-between watching Under Siege 1&2, developing his wrestling.

So your entire 2nd arg focuses on why Sonnen-Anderson will not be a great fight. Well it might not be a great fight, but its definitely the fight I'm looking forward to the most.

Using the 1st fight as a template, I'm banking on the 2nd fight being a great fight. There will be people who believe Sonnen has the blueprint to beat the unbeatable Silva. There will be Silva fans pointing to injured ribs and roids as to why Sonnen did what he did, and expect Silva to destroy Sonnen.

There is also evidence to the Overeem-JDS fight ending in the 1st round. 10 of Overeems last 11 fights have ended in the 1st round. 12 of JDS 15 fights have ended in the 1st round. I'm going to go out on a limb and say their fight will end in the 1st.

Smack talk is a big part of selling a fight. There is so much hype surrounding this fight, much more than Overeem-JDS.

The way the 1st fight went down, the way Sonnen has continuously disrespected Silva, and the the fact that the fight will be in Brazil, and the fact that the best MMA fighter now, and maybe of all time is involved time makes the the most anticipated fight of 2012 by a longshot.

Give me Silva-Sonnen over Reem-JDS anyday.

I did not mention one UFC Title rematch that also involved bad blood. One that is one par with this one

Mir vs Brock

Just like today, the closeness of the fight (Timewise) and the fact that the first one had a stunning end gave the rematch a build that resulted in a record setting buyrate

The Fight itself? Ended up happening pretty much as expected

Am I fascinated by this fight? Yes
Am i anticipating this bout? Absolutely

Do I expect to see anything different than last time? Not really

I'm looking to see Anderson try and blast Chael, who shoots as much as possible. Only Chael is going to be slower from the top to try and not get tapped

Sorry. I grew up in the era of Ric Flair and Roddy Piper. I've heard the best

I care about what I see in the fight

This is a HEAVYWEIGHT fight
This is a true title clash between champions

This is a fight between two guys that are on a combined TWENTY fight winning streak

You don't know whats going to happen in that fight
You only picked an early finish. Heck, who knows?

You even admit "it might not be a great fight"

Sorry, the fight I'm looking for- Is the one that could end up as a GREAT Fight

Can't argue against it.

I'm just arguing that this is the fight people will be most looking forward to in 2012.

But I'm definitely taking Sonnen. And unless Jim has had a huge change of heart, he is too.

Taking Anderson, pulling for Sonnen

February 29, 2012  04:34 PM ET

Anderson may not be able to shut Sonnen up, but he will ugly him up. A pissed off, with something to prove Anderson Silva is going to be unstoppable.

Except when Sonnen puts him on his ass and keeps him down. I'm sure when Sonnen wins, Anderson will have an excuse. Maybe his ribs will be hurt again.

I'm not a big MMA fan at all, but there's now way I'm missing the Silva-Sonnen fight. I don't agree with Sonnen and his berating of Silva, as Silva is the champ and has the credentials, unlike Chael. This will be an epic fight.

March 1, 2012  03:07 AM ET

Both these fights are ending in the first round. Silva by MDK and JDS by TKO. Just saying. ;)

Fighting Silva in his own Home? oh yeah, that would be worth watching.

Didn't some foreign boxer just recently get assaulted by a pissed off crowd after beating the hometown fighter? Will Sonnen survive a trip to Brazil and will he make it to the cage?

it's kinda funny....the amount of effort that the UFC is putting into hyping Jones/Evans, having fake injuries to allow anticipation to build(you notice, every time a match is delayed and the fighters go off and fight other people, the fan demand for the fight only gets louder...) and no one seems to care that much....Jones vs Evans wouldn't have mattered so much right off the bat because Jones would have just won the title but not yet defended it, and Evans had been waiting for his title shot....NOW, Jones has beaten down 3 former champs and solidified his credentials and the fight matters a lot more....If Evans were to beat Jones, he wouldn't be beating some new guy that might have gotten lucky against Rua....he'll have beaten a real champ that had dominated the best the division has to offer....If Jones wins, he'll get the same benefit to his resume that he would have had before....

Anderson Silva complaining about being disrespected is hilarious to me.

March 1, 2012  08:33 PM ET

Nothing huge on the boxing schedule so Silva-Sonnen II for me.
- Silva looking to solidify GOAT status against the only guy who has given him a big fight in the UFC
- Soccer stadium show

I think David chose the right fight to argue against it (especially since GSP-Diaz is off the table) and I liked the Piper/Flair comparison to discount Chael.

Yeah, the delays were annoying but at the end of the day, both these guys are going to make much larger PPV payouts because of it.
