Jeremy Lin.
Last year: 2.6ppg, 1.4apg, 1.2rpg, and 1.1spg while shooting 38.9% on FG's, 20% on 3-pointers, and 76% on FT's.
This season: 14.4ppg, 5.8apg, 2.8rpg, and 1.5spg while shooting 47.1%, 33.3%, and 76.6%.
The Knicks started the season 8-15 and were playing some horrible basketball.
He stepped into become the starter when Melo and Amare were missing games. And he promptly took New York by storm. Lin has been some excellent basketball as of late. The Knicks have gone [I]9-3 (including 7 straight wins) [I]since Lin was inserted into the starting lineup.
Lin-sanity will be the most improved player this season when all is said and done.

After taking Some time to look through some players i have come to my IMPROVED PLAYER!!!!
GREG MONROE!!!!!
Last year He didn't do As Much as people expected him to do since he was a Top 10 Pick, But this season he's Turned it Around and has been better in every facet of the game...
He's Averaging a DOUBLE DOUBLE with 17 Points and 10 Rebounds A game.... he's also improved his assist totals and Has been the main reason the pistons have won as many games as they have....
His FG% might have took a Dip but he's been scoring more and he's still managing to keep his Percentage Above 51% Plus, he's Improved his Free throw % GREATLY!!!!
Not to mention He Led the pistons to Win 7 of 9 before the all-star break....
In a League where Centers are Becoming A Rarity he's shaping out to be one of the Great Ones in the League....
BRING THE PAIN!!!!

Good choice, he was somebody I briefly considered. I like Monroe and think he is a future star.
But, right now Lin has captured the bright lights of New York and rallied them back from a horrible start. They are just 3 games out of first place in the Atlantic Division and the Sixers have lost 8 of their last 12. Again, the Knicks have won 9 of their last 12 games.
Meanwhile, the Pistons are still mired in last place and trail the Cavs by 3 games for 4th place.
He has improved, no question about that, but Lin has been a catalyst to his team and they are a lot better for thge switch at PG.
Last night was a perfect example. Lin made 6 of 12 shots (including 7 of 9 FT's) for 19 points, 13 assists, 5 rebounds, and had just 1 TO. Against a more hyped player in Kyrie Irving. The Knicks won easily, 120-103. That's the type of game NY would have lost before Lin was inserted into the starting lineup.

The Most Improved Player Award Is Award To The Player that Improved his Production in All Facets of His Game.... Monroe Has Increased His production to where He's Averaging A DOUBLE DOUBLE to help his Team.... Even though they're still struggling...
Lin is A great Player, No Doubt he Can Score and Pass the Ball Extremely well.... But his One Flaw is His TURNOVERS!!! of course he Kept them down against Cleveland Last night.... But Let's Go Back to the Game against the Heat Where He Had 8 TURNOVERS!!!!! Great teams like the heat will take advantage of those mistakes and Take over the game.....
Greg is A efficient player, and he can bang with the best centers in the League and He has so much skills and Potential and he's not letting them go to waist......
And there's still the Talk of have we seen the Real Jeremy Lin???? He Hasn't Even Played A Full Season of Basketball Yet.... So there's still a lot of time to see whether he'll keep up his Play or if he will Fade out....
As For Monroe He has the Skills and Potential to be in this league for a while.... and his improved numbers show it...

Listen, no player is perfect.
He is averaging 9apg (3rd among starting PG's) to 5.3 TO's as a starter. The TO's aren't great, but he didn't have Amare and Melo when he broke into the starting lineup. He was having to do a little too much.
Again, Lin made 6 of 12 shots (including 7 of 9 FT's) for 19 points, 13 assists, 5 rebounds, and had just 1 TO. Lin played some pretty good defense also. Irving made just 8 of 18 shots (4 of 4 FT's) for 22 points, 7 assists, 3 rebounds, and 4 TO's.
And they are now 10-3 after last nights win. They are winning despite his TO's.
Melo and Amare coming back should give him some better players to pass the ball to. The TO's will drop as Lin gets more comfortable running the offense. Last night was a great example.
Lin's having a bigger effect on his team because the PG runs the offense. And this is exactly what the Knicks needed when Iman Shumpert and Toney Douglas failed to live up to expectations.
Lin's play has had a direct impact on NY winning and re-emerging as a serious threat to win the Atlantic.

When He's started he's averaged 9 assists per game but overall He is Averaging 6.1 ASSISTS Per Game To 3.5 Turnovers Per Game..... And i Think there is more pressure on him to succeed since he's lead the Knicks back to relevancy and he might crumble under that pressure if they don't win like people are hoping....
Monroe is on a terrible team that he is shining on.... there are no expectations for them to go to the playoffs so He can keep on developing his game and He will become their main piece in rebuilding the pistons... He will be the leader of this team in the future and will help them return to relevancy.
and like i said he's Averaged a Double-Double this season with 17 points and 10 rebounds a game.... while keeping his percentages high and improving everywhere else....
There are More good PG's in the NBA today than their are GREAT CENTERS!!!! Without Howard In orlando they Lose their Low Post scoring and Inside Defensive presence that Makes them tough... same For LA and Bynum.... He provides scoring and defense Down Low
I would Take A Center with the Chance to be Great Over A PG that can run the team anyday...

Prophecy, I'm glad you made that point. When I first read DJ's argument I assumed this was a slamdunk and there was no way someone else could compete. Then I read your viewpoint on the technicality issue, and I agree with it.
As far as who would be a good alternative.....hmmm......this is tough, nobody stands out to me......maybe Ryan Anderson, maybe Greg Monroe
