This should be fun...first TD and with someone who has over 800 TDs under their belt!!
I guess I will argue more who should be in the list rather than the order. List first, argue second?
If we define super stars as not those who necessarily are great at their sport or not, but those who have a popular appeal, or is more prominent, then I have three changes:
Chad Ochocinco in Dice-K's place
Vince Wilfork in Branch's place
Stephen Gostkowski in Carl Crawford's place.

Dude, ochocinco is a benchwarmer..
i sit on my ass all day, maybe I should be on this list too..
oh how the mighty have fallen..
Dice k.. His first year was freakin nasty..
he was one of the main reasons sox won in 07..
no regrets there.
plus he is one of the few japanese that has a ring..
and he doesnt dress like a weirdo like ichiro!
Branch is one of bradys favourite recievers..
hes worth his weight in gold..
hes a great target with excellent hands..
Crawfords contract is so huge, I had to put him on..
epstein the genius saw something..
he will rebound im sure..

Ochocinco is past his prime, I don't think anyone would argue that. He hasn't even remotely resembled what he used to be. With that being said, he is still popular, and that can qualify as a superstar. One example for comparison is Shaq when he was with the Celtics.
He sucked, to be honest, always injured, but he still got attention, he still made Sportscenter, he still was a star, even if not the biggest on his team. That is Ochocinco, who I think should be on this list, based on personality and history. He is still a big name, even if not a big player. Ochocinco has 3.3 million followers. Dice-K has 0.
Vince Wilfork - 4-time Pro-Bowler, with over 120 games played since '04 for the Patriots. He is one of the most consistent defensive players for NE, a 325 pound monster and a fan favorite. One of the best NT's in NFL.
Stephen Gostkowski has done more for Boston than Crawford has and cost much less. Regardless of contract size, till Crawford starts producing, you can't put him on the list over Gostkowski, even if he is just a kicker.

wow, Ocho cinco is popular?
Chad is arrogant, lacks respect from his opponents and the game, is a complete clown, Cinci had a massive party when he left town..
I know ochocinco is not as bad as Terrell Owens.. Or, to a lesser extent Randy Moss..
But popular? ish dont think so!
And to top off all that, he plays 30 secs a game!
Dude should retire immediately..
Better to crash and burn than fade away..
I stand by Dice-K.. One ring in 5 years.. I would take that every time, IN ANY SPORT...
Dice-K was a big piece to the puzzle back in 2007.. I have no regrets signing him..
While he may not be popular in the States.. He has rock star status in Japan, and the Red sox get a ton of cash, from TV japanese revenue, cause they televise ALL of his games in Japan..
Plus his contract was not too bad.. We gave 50mil to the Japanese ball club, and then we gave Dice K 50 mill in a 6 year span.. The way the deal was set up, we got a break in taxes, so it wasnt too bad..

Everything you said about Ochocinco doesn't contradict or negate what I've said about him. He being who he is, his personality is why he should be on the list, even if at the 20th spot.
Meanwhile, you omitting Vince Wilfork is unforgivable for all he means to that defense and that franchise.
Since you didn't argue either Wilfork or Gostkowski, I guess there's not much more I can say. Maybe this year Crawford explodes and starts earning his contract, but as of right now, Gostkowski deserves it more.

I think an all-time debate on this topic would make for a good TD. You could get some pretty interesting arguments debating the ranking of Orr, Williams, Russell, Bird, etc.

Yea, I wasn't sure if the argument was supposed to be the rankings themselves because there are a lot of things I'd change.

Yeah i dont care how well Rondo is playing. Pierce is still the superstar of that team.

Well said. This TD is flawed from the start. I won't even get into left's list....

Your Dice-K argument is wrong. It is the same argument you used in my TD of the same subject. Dice-K sucked in the 2007 post season. Do a quick google search on Dice-K's career stats. His lights-out year was 2008, not 2007.
