Van Gundy is too good of a coach to be fired from the Magic. In the four seasons as the coach in Orlando, he has led them to the playoffs in those 4 years, getting them to Orlando's 2nd appearance in the NBA Finals in their history along with a playoff appearance each year. At least let him finish his contract before letting him go.

Why not fire him? What have the Magic done since he got there with the best center? Not a lot.
The players don't seem to respect him for whatever reasons. Main reason why gundy should be let go is this video.
what kind of coach comes out to the reporters and tv cameras and tells everyone whats going on with the team and also pointing the finger at Howard?
He also said that if he was fired that he would be more then fine with it and find something to do. I say the Magic should work a deal with Howard so he stays for more years and the Magic will agree to fire Ron Jeremy.

What HAVEN'T they done with Howard? Without Howard, it'll be Shaq's split with the Magic all over again. BUT this isn't a Howard argument.
Van Gundy would be ok with going, but i think he'll also be ok with staying. sure, his players don't respect him, but i bet as soon as they win a title, he'll b a little more respected. Look at the Lakers: barely anyone respects Mike Brown, yet they're still winning. Look at Miami: not a whole lot of the players respect Erik Spoelstra, yet they're poised to win the championship.
It'll be a little time, but once the Magic win a championship (NOT saying they will, but if they do) Van Gundy will be one of the most respected men in Orlando.

You said as soon as they win a title Gundy will be respected? That is funny.
Why would any one respect a slob like Gundy, who likes to say things to the media instead of keeping it all in house? You don't hear other coach's do this like Greg Pop. When he is asked about fines and stuff with players, he tells the media its non of there business.
You cant win if the star player doesn't want to play for the coach. Was there a good reason why he told the media everything was true in the rumor mil and that management told him Howard wants him fired? No good reason except to look like a turd.
the Magic will not go past the first round of the playoffs with Gundy, and need some energy, like what happened with the Knicks when Woodson took over. Too bad Lin got injured or else they would have more wins with Woody.
of course he will be respected if they when a championship. but they won't sorry.

First off, im just saying, IF he does.
Secondly, yea, he's a slob, and yea, he's not like Greg Pop, but if Pop was like him, they'd give him some credit AS A COACH for getting the spurs to be four-time champ, not AS A PERSON.
Yea, Howard's a turd, but he's also a good b-ball player. That why this WHOLE DRAMATIC **** HAPPENED IN THE FIRST PLACE!!!
They might, but only if A) The WHOLE team shows up and plays some REAL b-ball and B) they don't play any great teams (miami, chicago, MAYBE philly or atlanta)
But even a championship say its not gonna happen.

Its not working in o-town, and the Magic need to do something to shake things up before the playoffs. They will lose in the first round with what they have right now.
Howard is the best center in the NBA, and you have to make him happy. Keep Gundy around and he will have a reason to leave the team after next year. That Ron Jeremy lookalike doesn't seem to care if he is the coach or not from the video i posted. Wouldn't a real coach say that he wants to be the coach on the team and nothing else is acceptable? Instead, he says that he will find something else to do if he gets fired and that he will be fine if he is the coach or not.
Since he will be ok now that we know, give him the ax and let one of the assistant coaches handle it and let the team run. I was sying that Gundy is a turd, not Howard.
Make the change now and get rid of this goofball.
