I think the New Jersey Nets make the most sense.
New Jersey is set to lose Deron Williams to free agency. He most likely is headed to Dallas this offseason. The Mavs have been clearing cap space to make a run at him since he is from Texas.
The Nets are moving to Brooklyn and need a player to represent the team as a face of the franchise. Amare may not be the player he once was, but still put up some good numbers as recently as 2010-2011. After being signed as a free agent from the Phoenix Suns, Amare averaged 25.3ppg and 8.2rpg.
But, the Knicks dealt for Melo and the duo of Melo and Amare hasn't worked out like they hoped for.
This season Amare's numbers took a bit of a hit, but he still managed to average 17.5ppg and 7.8rpg in just 32 mpg. And he is still capable of putting up 20ppg if he gets enough FG's.
Melo and Amare's games are too similar for them to be effective together. Melo seems to play better when he is playing the PF position and Amare can't play center since they signed Tyson Chandler. And bringing Amare off the bench isn't likely to happen.
Disagree???

Hey DJ! Just play that song keep me dancing all night long!
I am going to have to say that the only team foolish enough to pursue Amare would be my very own beloved. GS Warriors.
There are multiple reasons why you will see this topic on T&R after the end of round one of the NBA playoffs.
1. The "new" management over there in Oracle Arena are desperately seeking a big name to come over and put butts in the seats. Amare is the type of big name superstar that all B-ball fans would be able to recognize and this is something that for one reason or another management really covets.
2. NYK and GSW have been willing trade partners in the past a la the David Lee trade. Being inter-conference they don't have to worry about the player coming back and torching them. I don't see this luxury with a trade to the Brooklyn Dodgers er Nets.
3.Also GSW should have two first round picks in the upcoming draft. Plus anybody on the GSW roster could be moved according to management. GSW is open for business. They know that they cannot attact top notch free agents and there only hope is to either develop a top tier player through the draft or trade for one - the got pieces to deal.

Interesting choice, Twiz. Never even considered them and here's why:
Golden State just traded Monta Ellis for Andrew Bogut basically (since they got rid of Stephen Jackson).
I don't know if they would want to add another big man who could get injured. Bogut hasn't played more than 69 games since 2007-2008. I don't think they need to trade for Amare. Plus, they already have David Lee. And Lee is a solid player for them. It doesn't make much sense to add another PF.
New Jersey has an upcoming free agent in Kris Humphries. He is a nice player, but Amare is a better scorer and a star player when healthy and playing well. He is a big name and will attract the fans. Especially, since he has already played in New York.
New Jersey is so far under the salary cap they can afford to trade a few players and not have to send them the normal requirement of contracts within 75% of Amare's contract. They can absorb his salary fairly easily since they have Williams (16.4 million), Humphries (8 million) coming off the books.
And Gerald Wallace could opt out of his 9.5 million deal.
The Nets are going to be waaaay under the cap.

"The Nets are going to be waaaay under the cap"
This is great news for the Brooklyn franchise. I don't however understand the pertinence in regards to a possible trade. Trades have to have salaries match within a certain percentage so ANY trade partner that would be available would need to giveup about about equal salary.
GSW could possibly send someone like, Andris Biedrins a player of Latvian descent and a skilled big man that is in desperate need of a change of scenery, to the Nets and their russian owner for Amare. They could possible package Lee in or a different player. Like I said before no one on the GSW roster is "untouchable"
"I don't know if they would want to add another big man who could get injured."
Frankly any player "could get injured" look at D-Rose in Chi or even look no further than Steph Curry. These are smaller players that have been struggling with injuries as of late. With the 4 and 5 being in such demand why wouldn't any team really given the opportunity acquire a bevy of skilled big men.
It makes more sense for the Knicks to deal with GSW as GSW has chips in terms of good young players at multiple positions and draft picks.

If he gets traded he'll be fine as long as he goes to team that doesn't expect him to play D.

Hey if multiple teams have given that lunatic Metta World Peace a chance someone out there would gamble on Amare.
