Anywho, I saw this on mma live the other night, Frank MIr a top 5 heavyweight, mma history?

I say no.. but not by a long shot, still no..

Mir's a submission guy, not really the type I roll with.. He's got W's over big time opponents, but I think he lacks a solid chin..

I think is on the outside brink of the top 5, i will include my top 5 next round.


I'll beat you to the punch here.

1. Fedor
2. Big Nog
3. Cro Cop
4. Couture
5. Mir

Mir has 14 wins in the UFC. Most all time by a heavyweight. Of his 15 wins, 13 have come by finish, 11 in the 1st round. He became the youngest UFC HW champion ever when he snapped Sylvia's arm in half at the age of 25.

He's a two time UFC champion and this Saturday will be his 5th title fight.

He's the only man to ever KO Big Nog, #2 guy on my list. He's also the only man to ever submit Big Nog.

He probably has the best ground game of any HW in MMA history.

There is no doubt in my mind Frank Mir is a top 5 MMA heavyweight.


Yeah, Frank Mir might have beat Brock Lesnar by luck and in-experience, but Brock beat the dog poo outta him the 2nd go 'round, and i don't even consider Brock a very good mixed martial artist..

Either way, Big Brock was the cash cow.

So you don't have Mir top 5 because he's lost some fights? Great argument. You must not have a list then because every MMA fighter loses fights.

I'm sure you have Fedor top 5. Just lost 3 fights in a row.

Couture. Has 11 losses and was another guy who lost to Lesnar by TKO. And has some bad losses on his resume. Enson Inoue? Terrible.

Big Nog. I'm sure he's in your top 5. Lost twice to Mir. Once getting pummeled, and once went home with one arm.

Crop Cop. Another guy who lost to Mir by KO. Has 10 losses in his career.

Every fighter has losses. You can't sit here and say Mir is not top 5 because he's lost some fights. That's a terrible argument.

And its hilarious when a guy gets in a motorcycle crash and his life starts spinning out of control. Do you laugh at people who are sick and dying too? Jesus man.

So why don't you actually try and argue this like an adult instead of just writing garnage.

My top 4 picks are all the same, Jim..

I would just like to say, you can't put Mir in front of someone that completely demolished him. Yes, I'm going with my 5th pick, the short lived, and probably the most hated, Big Brock Lesnar.

My reasoning:

yes, Mir's beat Big Nog, very credible, Cro cop? Not as much as his pride days, Cro Cop hasn't been on his A game in the octagon, lets be real...

Brock Lesnar's demolished Randy Couture, and frkn Shane Carwin..

Carwin rocked Mir's "front top mullet".. hahah

Anywho, i said i was not giving you a legitimate guy, but i am. Lets not look at what happened at the end, lets look when these two were comparing, Mir and Brock, squared off. Like i said, Mir's got a split with brock, 1-1, but Mir got KILLED in the rematch. Brock Lesnar had one of the worst chins, but we can't forget about his agility in the ring, it was unreal. His bare strength in the grapple, NO, he wasn't the best fighter ever, but he did prove himself faster than anyone I've ever seen. 4 FIGHTS, then here comes the strap, a.k.a UFC heavyweight title.

Mir said he didn't care if Brock died, remember the illness Brock had, another thing he overcame.


Sorry but Frank Mir is a better MMA fighter than Lesnar ever was. He has better striking, better BJJ, and a better overall game. Say what you want about Mir but he is a true mixed martial artist.

He has also accomplished much more than Lesnar ever did. I've stated in my 1st arg what his resume looks like. No other HW as accomplished what Frank Mir has in the UFC with the exception of Randy Couture.

And Mir was a finisher unlike Couture. Randy grinded his opponents down. Mir snapped limbs, he put dudes on **** street. He finishes.

Lets also not forget Mir is fighting once again for the title this Saturday. Lesnar is off playing make believe because things got a little difficult for him in MMA and he quit.

Yes Brock did have a serious illness but he took care of it and still quit. Mir was told he might never fight again, but fought to comeback and worked his ass off to get back to a title shot.

Brock Lesnar was 5-3 in his MMA career and quit when things got difficult. Frank Mir is most deserving of top 5 alltime status. Lesnar, no way.

Especially since I don't even think Jim had him that high when we TD'd it, and he hasn't fought since.

I can't see Mir being top 5, but Lesnar is even worse to argue as a top 5 all time.

Igor, Josh for sure are higher than Mir in my mind for sure.

I thought of Tim, but not for long, and i was VERY close to Coleman. I know Brock's not the 5th best heavyweight ever, i was just exposing how soft Mir is, and was.
