yankees and red sox are at the bottom of their division..
could you imagine a playoffs with both teams missing?
2 of the most popular franchiaes in the country..
it would be a massive mind fu_k_c..
Sucky baltimore leading al east..
i follow baseball, and cant think of one guy on their roster!
do they still have derek lee?
i know their manager is buck showalter.. But that is it..
and their closer used to pitch for the marlins, gregg somethin..
Angles..
with pujols in their line up, they were suppose to be the next powerhouse..
now?
8 games behind the leader..
As the al stands,
Playoffs could be rangers, indians, orioles..
Blue gays knock off rays for wc..
ra.gers road to ws would be cake..
What happened to the tiger?
the addifion of fielder was suppose to make them nasty..
Apart from dodgers, (whose division is cake)..
i have nothin positive to say about NL..
Philies have been an immense disappkintment..
with pujols gone.. It was suppose to be their year..
While i admire the cardinals for not falling to pieces..
someone else should have said,
"the divisuon is mine! Take me to your leader!"

How can you say that? Oh! I see...since two teams NOT named Yankees or Red Sox are at the top of their division then it is a down season.
NOT HARDLY>
We have already seen a No Hitter by Weaver as well as the Perfect game by Humber.
Matt Kemp started out on fire and then Josh Hamilton went completely NUTSO. I mean , c'mon man, he has a .389 BA with 18 Homers. The two of them have an amazing OPS+ of 221 and 219!!!!!
The Braves are contending again along with EVERY team in the NL East. The Orioles leading the AL East is FANTASTIC.
The Dodgers with their new owners are dominating again. No Giants in the west.
And WITHOUT Pujols or LaRussa the Cards are showing they still have the make up for a winning team.
I can understand why many might feel disappointed that the Angels are not competing for the west title but it still makes for great discussions.
There is plenty to speculate about for the rest of the season.
Will the Tigers finish strong and win the central
When will the Indians fold like a lawn chair
How many of the Pirate stars will be traded before the deadline
Just how bad can the Cubs get
When will Bobby V blow a gasket

While i admit hamilton and kemp are having a season for the ages..
and humber/white sox, were fantastically lucky,
(that last wild pitch could have gone anywhere)..
not that there is something wrong with abit of luck..
You can not debate the fact, that, almost 2 months into the season..
its been wild..
and i have a bad feeling the good teams will not emerge..
Last season..
while it was fantastic last 2 weeks of the season..
will the red sox make it?
the WS was one of the worst i can remember..
i did not watch a single game..
part of it was cause i was burnt out on going to sports bars,
and watchin red sox play every night..
but
like i said in my basketball td..
we need the marquee teams doing well..
not on life support..
cj wilson, was the only guy i could name on either cards/rangers pitchin staff..
is carpenter still playing?
i fear this season will be random too..
If it wasnt for the extra wc, i would have lost all hope..

I can understand a Red Sox homer NOT watching the WS last year, but it was far from being the WORST ONE EVER.
I mean, how can a 7 game down to the wire series be bad? Oh, I keep forgetting, it DID NOT include your Red Sox.
Trust me when I say last season had some disappointing moments. As a Braves Homer I felt cheated out of an early Christmas present but I still enjoyed the playoffs and WS.
IN FACT, I thought it ironic that the team the Phillies helped put INTO the playoffs were the same ones that knocked them out. Cool Huh?
And where do you get , I have a bad feeling the good teams will not emerge?
Last time I checked the Good Teams ALWAYS emerge. Now if you are saying the Red Sox might not make it to the playoffs this then I have a question for you:
Why do you call them a good team?
They may have some good players but they obviously ARE NOT a good team right now. There is more to the game of baseball than having a bunch of sluggers.
Now, they did look pretty good against the Phillies this past weekend but don't go buying playoff tickets based on just that series. Remember, that was a battle of the two division BOTTOM teams.

Yea, just because historically good teams aren't doing as well doesn't make for low quality. It means the parity has improved.

I'm not anti Red Sox or Yankees, but I'm very glad to see Baltimore playing well and at the top of the division.

Fans get spoiled with success way too often.
It is good that the "also rans" have their day in the sun. That is the beauty of Baseball.

I caught a foul ball at a Rockies game, and the quality of the baseball was amazing. Stitching was perfect.

I was just going to say "maybe they outsourced the manufacture". But here you are attesting to the high quality still to be seen in baseballs...

Last season's World Series was ONE OF THE BEST in recent memory, not sure how you can say it was the worst.
So far baseball has been great, surprise division leaders, traditional powerhouses struggling, the Yankees and Red Osx, 4th and 5th in the AL Central, the Tigers, who were supposed to run away with the AL Central are under 500, and the Phillies are in last place.

If you didn't watch the World Series, how do you know it was the worst?
It was extremely competitive. Hell, the Rangers were one strike away from winning it, and the Cards came back.

Just because the Red Sox and the Yanks are struggling does not diminish the quality of baseball. If anything, it makes it more interesting to me.

How can you follow baseball and not know a player from the Orioles roster? Any reasonable baseball fan (or anybody who watches sportscenter) knows at least one player.

if left, as a red sox fan cant name a player on the Orioles, a team in his division, then he should prolly renounce the claim that he follows baseball

"Last year's World Series was one of the worst ever... I did not watch a single game."
7-game series. 4 games being decided by 2 runs or less, an extra inning game, two games in which one team scored double didgits, and 4 games in which neither team scored 5 runs... Oh yeah, and the winning team was a Wild Card team, who had home field advantage throughout.
So, you had some pitchers duels, a few offensive explosions, and quite a few close games. But because neither team was from the East, it was horrible. Makes sense to me.
And now, this year, in the middle of may, it's already apparent that this season will be even worse. Yep... That's smart. You must be a hell of a fan.

Baseball is best with drama and storylines, and most of all when teams are not out of it. it is early and there are few teams with no hope.

If you think the Phillies will not be there at the end you are crazy, they still have one of the best pitching staffs in the bigs and they are missing a 30+hr 100+ RBI guy and a 20+ Hr and 80+ RBI guy in the middle of their line up and of as of today 4.5 games out... that divison is not going any where. No one in it knows how to win big games when they count.... for example what did the braves do last year and oh the Nats just won 6 in a row for the FIRST time in franchise history...give me a break for real....
