Wisconsin would have a better chance of joining the tournament of undefeateds because they lost to a better opponent. Illinois has some weapons on their team and are very close to being undefeated. stanford was a bad loss because they hadn't been doing that great until their win against USC.

Even if Wisconsin had not lost to Penn State in such fabulous fashion, they would have less chance than USC to join the tournament of unbeatens (whatever that is!)

The Illini are no better than Stanford, as their meager 6-10 loss to Iowa proved. If they had talent they would have scored more than that against a division foe.

USC has both their starting and back up QB's injured. So they are not playing up to par.

USC has Wisconsin beat on several fronts:
On Offense:
Pts. Per Game- USC: 34 and Wisconsin: 27.7
Total Yds./Gm.- USC: 430 Wisconsin: 416

On Defense:
Pts. Allowed-USC 19.3 Wisconsin: 25.9
Total Yds. Allowed- USC:266.7 Wisconsin: 378.6

USC by sheer virtue of their game play is more worthy than Wisconsin despite the fact that both USC QB's are injured, while Wisconsin struggles with a healthier roster.

i really dont know what i'm supposed to argue now that wisconsin isn't a one loss team now. i think this td was supposed to be done by this past week so i don't know if it counts anymore.

Let's finish this as if it was before Wisconsin lost to PSU.

USC's only loss was with a smaller margin 23-24 to Stanford. A simple safety or field goal might have won it for USC which would have kept them in the top 5 to this day.

That's one razor thin point compared to Wisconsin's 26-31 loss to Illinois which would have required more than a 2 point safety or 3 point FG to overcome.

USC's loss was a greater upset only because of Stanford had three losses at the time.

However, those three Stanford losses were to very difficult ranked conference opponents such as UCLA, Oregon, and AZ State.

Stanford was a more difficult opponent to USC than Illinois was to Wisconsin.

i disagree that stanford was a better team than illinois because illinois is very explosive on offense. mendenhal, juice williams, arrelious benn. plus they have one of the best linebackers in the nation in j leman.

wisconsin's loss was on the road where as usc was at home. usc's quaterback is out which brings their offense down a notch and their defense has been giving up points. wisconsin has too though.
it comes down to usc having a worse loss than wisconsin.

The truth is that USC's QB's WERE injured. But now Carroll can choose which player to put in.

USC's defense is far better than Wisconsin not because of their name or players, coach etc. but because of the product they put on the field.

USC's D holds opponents to 19.3 pts. a game and 266.7 yds. a game.

Wisconsin on the other hand gives up 25.9 pts. and 378.6 yds. a game.

USC's offense 34 pts. a game and 430.2 yds a game which means they average more points on offense than their defense gives up.

Wisconsin? 27.7 pts. a game with 416 yds. a game which means they're playing far too many tight games where either the defense or the offense may not be able to carry the team to victory.

I would like to think this is true but the media only looks at schools names which is why USC was so overrated in the first place.

We need to continue it for the tourney. I'll make my next argument. Just argue it as if Wis. hadn't lost it's 2nd game.

well, i tried. you gotta admit that i didn't have much of a chance arguing wisconsin against usc.

You put up a noble effort. My only suggestion is not to waste one of your 3 arguments with a comment. You can do that down here or use fanmail.
