Simple TD here, come up with a top ten list of sports related things to do in an average person's lifetime.
1. Coach a kids' sports team: Everyone should do this once. Helps you develop a bound with your kid, and a respect for the parents that volunteer their time.
2. Go to a day game at Wrigley Park: The Cubs have sucked for years now, but the fans are loyal, and a great atmosphere for pure love of the game.
3. Play a round of golf: One of the easiest looking sports. Take a club, and hit a small ball that's not even moving. Piece of cake! There's a reason why people either swear a lot while playing it, or drink heavily. Some even do both.
4. Tryout for the Nathan's hotdog eating competition: Those guys are ridiculous. If you can eat a 1/4 of what they consume and not choke, kudos.
5. Attend the Kentucky Derby: Most people are not horse racing fans, but they at least know of this race. Plus, unlike NASCAR, the race is done in minutes not hours, and it is encourage to gamble on.
Will post my remaining 5 in the second argument. Good Luck and have fun!

The average person has SOOO many opportunities in today's sports world. The average sportsman can develop a doo-able bucket list.
Here is what I think would make for a great bucket list.
1. Attend a Super Bowl. The NFL has captured the heart of America and is the biggest draw for a sporting event. Everyone should attend at least 1 SB.
2. Attend a World Series game. I'm still a big baseball fan. It does not have to be your favorite team. Just get into the stands.
3. Go after a Boone and Crockett White Tail Buck. Been a deer hunter all my life. I have seen some big bucks but that elusive one is still not on my wall. But the chase is great!
4. Catch that double digit Bass. Ten pound plus Bass is a heart stopper!
5. Attend the Grand Daddy of all races, the Indy 500.
6. Attend the best NASCAR race ever, the Daytona 500
7. Visit the big three Hall of Fames, Football, Baseball and Basketball (I have two of three already)
8. Take a kid fishing. Just something about seeing their face with their first catch.
9. Hold a football for your kid to kick
10. Play catch with your kid/grandkid.

While technically, the average person may be able to afford the ticket to the Super Bowl. My average income couldn't justify the $1,000/ticket it costs. This is not an exaggeration either. I could so many better things with that money.
6. Attend a World Series game: The cost for these tickets are way more practical than the SB, and equally intense in my opinion. So I agree with you on this being on the list.
7. Take a kid fishing: Again I agree with you on this being one of the best things you can do. Some of my fondest memories as a kid and as a father.
8. Go deep sea fishing: You think a double digit bass is a heart stopper... try hooking into a tarpon on a fly. It is also equally as intense as hunting for deer. You have to stalk the fish, and get 1 maybe 2 casts to try and catch one.
9. Play wiffle ball with kids: Playing catch is a great bonding moment, but you also need to teach the kid to hit. Wiffle Ball is an essential in teaching baseball basics.
10. Haggle over the price of scalped tix: This is a capitalistic country, and buying tickets from a scalper is a part of the American sporting experience.

While haggling over a scalped ticket might be exciting it is also illegal so I will steer clear of that one.
Wiffle ball is fun, however if takes from the the serene setting and the conversation one might entertain with their kid. You don't have to be so serious and use so much concentration in a simple game of catch. Its those times when a young lad takes the opportunity to ask, Dad, how did you and Mom meet?
While chasing tarpon with a fly rod is exciting, the average joe can go fishing in any state in the union for Bass (except maybe Hawaii, dont know), last I checked, you pretty much have to find salt water to catch tarpon.
I realize that I placed a couple of things on my list that does take a few extra coins to make happen. Heck, in the movie the Bucket List, Morgan Freeman would not have been able to do any of those things had Jack not been rich. However, this is a Bucket List of things to do before one's life is over, so if it is important enough, anyone could save thru the years enough to manage all of these at least once. And that is the key, at least once.
I still like my idea of the Hall of Fame visit of your favorite sport as well. That's a must.

Great List, and thanks for making this an enjoyable TD.
Yes scalping is illegal, but it is a common occurance. I'd rather have my kids aware of the things going on around them (to a certain extent... I'm not going to teach my kid how to score smack).
Plus I have been on both sides of scalping transaction. Where for some reason I have an extra ticket trying to unload, or missed out on-line for tickets.
Which brings me to your consideration of going to the Super Bowl. Having lived in two SB locals (Miami and Tampa), the odds of you getting a SB ticket legit is very difficult. They don't just post it on ticketmaster, and first come first served. You need to know someone, or use a scalper... like Stub Hubb making Scalping legal since the internet became popular.
I realize fishing for tarpon is not an easy thing to do, which is partially why I put fishing with a kid. You don't want to take a little kid fishing for tarpon. They'll get sea sick, and bored. This is where your bass, trout, pike, etc. fishing comes in.
I've been to some HOFs. I respect the past, but would rather live and enjoy the present.
Great TD.

Your statement regarding obtaining SB tickets the legit way is so bogus. The last three SB's I was able to find all kinds of tickets available on Tickets.com and other sites that sell sporting events tickets. Lesson here is don't wait till the last minute.
The reason for the Hall of Fame visits is simply to help in the appreciation for what we have today. There is not a single fan out there that played as a youth that does not like to remember back when. The HOFs help us all to do that.
Let's talk just for a second about those events of mine that you have completely ignored. The Daytona 500 and Indy 500 is a must for any fan of motorsports. These races are so rich in history and tradition nostalgia floods the blood stream just walking through the gates. And when the engines fire up and the average fan feels the percussion of those monsters vibrating on their chest it is truly a marvel to behold. Mix in beer and scantily clad big breasted women jumping up and down and the sites in the stands are not so bad either.
There is still nothing like catching a glimpse of white bone above the underbrush and waiting for that moment he steps into the clear. Heart Stopping!
Good TD

Not True! But you just fell into my clumsily laid trap!!!
I never said whether Cleveland fans not being average was good (above) or bad (below) just that they weren't average.
I love it when a plan comes together!!! <Waves lite cigar in air after putting feet on desk>
