The creator of MRT has returned.
Little different.
I'm going to name 2, then you name (only) your 4.
Then its my turn.
In this instance. UFC 146 and beyond DO NOT Matter
For all we know, Dave Hermans gonna win his next 15 Fights.
Heavyweight - ANY fighter who goes 205 and beyond for the MAJORITY of their MMA career
My 2
Nog (Corner)
Randy Couture

I don't really get what's going on. Haha. I guess I'll pick 4 besides your guys.
Fedor Emelianenko
Cro Cop
Frank Mir
Josh Barnett

I wanted to take MIR, I'm one HUGE Mir fan. I almost took him as my #4 guy.
But.
Barnett? Really?
My 4
Fedor (bookend)
Randy
Cro-Cop
Nog (bookend)
So we are looking at Mir/Barnett vs Nog/Randy
Here is the problem with Mir. While guys were killing each other in Pride, Herring, Cro-cop,Fedor, etc etc.
Mir was trying to rule the UFC. Fighting guys like Tank and Wes Sims.
Nog has lost to Mir- twice, but
Mir lost to Ian Freeman, Cruz and BRANDON VERA (as well as Carwin and Brock)
BY KO.
Let's see Nogs list.
Fedor x2, Barnett, Hendo, Cain,Mir x2,
Any Scrubs there?
Look at the list of guys he's BEAT.
Randy Couture, Mirko Cro Cop, Dan Henderson, Fabricio Werdum, Mark Coleman, Josh Barnett, Tim Sylvia.
Mir matches Cro-cop and timmy, adds Brock and Nog.
And . . . Nelson? Kongo? Pete Wiliiams?

I'll start with Mir vs Nog. While Nog is certainly one of the all time great HW's in MMA history, I have a couple of issues with him vs Frank Mir.
First off, let's just go straight to Mir's two wins over Nog. Mir became the 1st man to finish Nog via strikes when he defeated him for the UFC interim HW championship. Mir totally outclassed Nog everywhere, and knocked him down multiple times.
In the second fight, Nog was able to catch Mir alongside the cage but Mir regained his composure long enough to snatch one of Nog's limbs. The rest is history, as Mir locked in a Kimura and snapped Nog's arm in half.
Mir's losses to guys like Cruz and Vera were the result of his motorcycle accident. Doctors said he might not ever fight again and he was hooked on pills.
Mir's two wins over Nog go a long way in the discussion of who was better. Mir also owns several UFC records.
He owns the record for most finishes by a HW with 11. Most 1st round wins with 9. Most wins with 14. Most subs with 8. He holds almost every UFC record at HW.
Add in his two title wins and 5 title fights, all the records, and Mir's two wins over Nog and its hard not to say Mir is not better than Nog.

Dan Severn has over 100 wins. The fact that Frank Mir holds several UFC HW records is, for the most part a product of his era, if took all the fights of the early UFC as HW fights, as most fighters would belong to that range, Royce would hold it.
Keep in mind Mir also was fighting in the number 2 promotion in the world, FAR behind Pride. Look who your top HW at that time in the UFC, Buentello, Timmy, Arlovski, Gan McGee etc.
Mir never even defended his title.
Nog, on the other hand beat Heath Herring (who possibly could have beaten anyone in the UFC save Mir) and some guy named Cro-cop - back when that was nigh impossible (Cro-Cops first loss- he came into the fight with 3 first round Knockouts )
Barnett has beaten Severn, Randy (should be a NC)and splits with Nog and Rizzo. After that who? Yoshi? A CLEAN Barnett is almost a gatekeeper to the Hall of Fame. He beats the lesser, loses to his betters
Randy has topped Vitor Maurice Smith,Randleman (back when that meant something) Chuck, Tito,
Finally, even YOU admit you took the 5&6 fighters.

Listen, I love Randy as much as the next guy but lets be honest about a few things. He didn't have the most spectacular record. 19-11.
Record isn't the most important thing in the world, but its a factor in the discussion. Lets dig into his record though.
Almost half of his fights were in the light heavyweight division. He was 13-7 in the HW division with no wins over an all time great. His best wins were probably against Sylvia and Rizzo at HW.
He has wins over guys like Steven Graham, Mike Van Arsdale, Tony Halme, and James Toney, which was a joke.
The majority of great wins you listed for Randy were against light heavy weight fighters. This is a Heavyweight TD.
Barnett on the other hand has gone 31-6 in his HW career. He has wins over Randy, Big Nog (so 2 of your top 5), Monson, and Kharitonov.
He was a former UFC champ, and a former Pancrase champ. He was runner up in the Pride GP tourney, and the SF GP tourney. He continuously has fought the very best at HW throughout his career.
Of his 31 wins, 26 have come by way of finish. Barnett is a model of consistency in the HW division and deserves top all time HW status.

again, left having problems with his own rules....Randy was a LHW for MOST of his career....and he certainly wasn't anywhere near the top of the HW division....he took advantage of an undeserving Tim Sylvia, came out of retirement because Sylvia being a champ is so offensive...and then he promptly lost the HW title to a guy that 3 MMA fights....and Nog is getting destroyed now that he's been fighting the top HWs rather than playing games in Pride...when you leave a company that allows rampant roid use as well as fight fixing, and then you suddenly start to lose, it isn't age that got you....
