Will they win more than 7 games? Vegas says no.
I say yes.
Stanford Routt and Chris Johnson were sent out the door by new GM Reggie McKenzie, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.
The secondary allowed several 2nd half leads to be blown and cost Oakland at the very least, 2 games, Buffalo and San Diego (a win would have given them the AFC West) most noticeably.
Shawntae Spencer and Ron Bartell will be the new starters at CB and may not be better than Routt and Johnson, but they were overpaid and didn't perform up to expectations after losing Aso to free agency.
On offense, the Raiders lost Michael Bush, but they picked up Mike Goodson to provide insurance for often injured RB Darren McFadden. Goodson didn't play much last season for Carolina, but in 2010 he ran 104 times for 452 yards (4.4ypc) and 3 TD's. He also caught 40 passes.
More to come, David.
BRING THE PAIN, MY FRIEND!!!

You asked for it.
I see them winning @SD due to a coaching mishap. But losing to KC and Cincy.
Cincy has a better QB (with a full offseason) and the Ben-gals will be looking to improve that draft pick by dinging the QB who quit on them.
I don't see KC having a bad year, they might not be very good on offense, but that D should carry them to a serious shot at the playoffs.
My biggest issue with Carson is his Int% it was almost DOUBLE Jason Campbell's even in this crap div you can't win like that.
The Raiders have a very uncertain running game- and as a Panther Fan, I wasn't exactly weeping when you signed our 4th? String back.
Bush might be crippled by the time you read this, and McFadden is getting gunshy in the trenches.
Sorry RaiderFans, but at least there is hope in 2013

BS. I am not waiting till the morning to argue.
"My biggest issue with Carson is his Int% it was almost DOUBLE Jason Campbell's even in this crap div you can't win like that."
Palmer didn't benefit from a training camp last season. He came in and had to learn on the fly. McFadden wasn't available for him to hand the ball off to. Thus, Palmer was forced to throw too much. He threw at least 40 passes in 3 of his last 4 games.
That is not want the Raiders want to do on offense.
Not to mention, DHB, Denarius Moore and Louis Murphy all missed games due to injuries after dealing for Palmer.
Despite throwing those INT's the Raiders were in line for a a playoff spot if they could have won the AFC West.
It wasn't a great way for Palmer to debut as the Raiders starting QB.
I don't see Kansas City sweeping Oakland and I definitely don't see Oakland sweeping San Diego. Rivalry games bring out the best in a team.
Uncertain running game? McFadden is making a good recovery and will be just fine. Be sarcastic all you want, bu Goodson is a very capable RB. You know this. Taiwan Jones is expected to get more carries this year.

Palmer didn't benefit from a training camp last season.
Great point DJ, just an awesome point.
But how then, do you explain his INT% is TWICE Jasons Career?
Not to mention Carson's YPA was over a yard more than his career best.
Think maybe he's trying the deep ball and Ocho aint pulling his fat outta the fire?
Let's also not forget Palmers Completion % was lower than his rookie year.
Or his QB rating was the third lowest of his career.
I know I know. Its all theno offseason camp and what not. Because every other team in the NFL got a full camp.
How about his TD% being the LOWEST of his career? (Excepting his injury year when he played 4 games)
But explain this to me.
That's his CAREER record.
Next. Let me 'slpain something to you. I like Goodson.
But you will never say:
McFaddens injured AGAIN? Its ok, we got GOODSON!
Now let's talk defense.
I know that how many points you average with Luke Walton on NBA2K12, but that's also the Raiders AVERAGE points ALLOWED.
Almost 4 TDs a GAME.
They didn't draft a defensive player till pick 34 of Round FOUR

Can the freaking sarcasm, David. Known you long enough to know you're trying to patronize me, but the fact remains, the man missed the first 6 games of the regular season and wasn't expected to play last season. The Raiders made a bold trade when Jason Campbell went down with an injury and they didn't feel comfortable with Kyle Boller at QB.
DHB was benched by Hue Jackson for a few games and no Raiders fan really know why. Moore, Murphy and Jacoby Ford missed a combined 16 games.
McFadden played just 7 games because of a freakish injury. Palmer doesn't need his top 4 WR's and best RB? Ha, sure.
You realize Palmer spent 7 years in Cincinnati when they were still called the Bungles, right? Come on, David. You're smarter than this. Or maybe not, because as of late, NC David's TD's are very similar to PCH's, minus the lmao and boi.
50-56 on a normal franchise would be bad, I agree. But, in Cincinnati during the timeframe he played there? Those are practically reasons to CELEBRATE.
The Raiders offense averaged 22.4ppg last season and should be even better with a healthy RB and WR corps.
splain or explain.
Bloggers Needed said 06/08, 09:01 AM
Ok. The Bengals are called the Bungels, and it has NOTHING to with Palmer?
Don't you think that Palmer is a good CAUSE of that?
A QB is the ONE player that can change a franchise, thats why they sometimes get a sixth of the entire CAP
I know, I know, thats just WAY too much for one player David.
How were the Saints before the coming of the Drew?
The Bengals have been in the Supe- TWICE, the Saints won ONE playoff game before the coming of the Drew.
How about Schaub? How about even in DETROIT? What about Arizona?
Saying 50-56 isn't Palmers fault is just a silly statement.
Lets Splain something
The Raiders gave up almost 4 TDs a game.
The Chargers gave up FIVE points less.
The Chiefs? SIX points less.
The Broncos three points less
-- By the way, If you take the 11 Tebow games, the Raiders gave up 5 points more than they did (yes the Broncos 2 less points that run)
But as we all know, the QB means nothing.
5,5,6 more points in that division. Yes, I know they went .500 in there
They added VERY little to the Defense, and Drafted ZERO blue-chippers.
