1. Tebow..
Yeah, he can run..
But it wouldnt surprise me if Jeremy Lin could throw the football better than this bum..

2. Vince Carter/Ray Allen..
ooooh remember when carter used to attack the basket..
Now, they are both shooters, shoot first ask questions later..
And as we have seen with Allen, the shelf life for a pure shooter in the NBA, sets faster than the sun..

3. Adam Dunn..
Swing for the fences, and if you dont hit them, then you are still on top of the world!
Actually, you are not, you strike out..
Does anyone have a stranger home run to strike out ratio, than this bum!

4. Chapman..
We all know how great his fastball is..
But does he have anything else in his repetoire? NOPE

5. Rondo/Kobe Bryant..
dr jekyl and Mr Hyde
One can shoot and not pass..
The other can pass and not shoot..

6. Roddick.
Great server.. Lousy groundies

7. Brandon Jacobs, the one yard specialist!

8. Joel Zumaya, Detroit tigers..
one fastball pitch..

9. Kerry Wood..
Once he lost his heater, he lost his career..

10. Nadal..
Unstoppable on clay..
Very very vulnerable on other surfaces..

11. Adebayor.. The tap in specialist!

Odd that on a top 11 list,

You have 13.

Scared of Jason there?

Speaking of.

1. Jason Kopono

3 point guy. Can't defend me going to the rim from half court.

I'll give my rest next arg, but had to do the Jason Joke.

Now for your list.

Tebow seems to throw the jump pass pretty well, and at Florida he sure seemed to pass ok. During the 4th Q, his passes look ok.

There have been PLENTY of one pitch guys in the majors, Kerry just one of the best.

Kobe.

One trick pony? REALLY?

9?? NBA All-Defensive First Team (2000, 2003???2004, 2006???2011)
3?? NBA All-Defensive Second Team (2001???2002, 2012)

5th in Steals per minute.

One trick pony?

You better make a list
or
i wont like that

Manute Bol - Three Pointers by a 7'7 guy is an unstoppable weapon

Dennis Rodman. Getting both Carmen and Madonna, back when that meant something. (For you younguns, think Kim Kardashian and katy perry at the same time.
- oh and a pretty good rebounder.

N'ique- could be anyone in a game of one on one, but woule also beat Stephen Hawking 21-17, caise he couldn't stop his drive either.

Ichiro - baiseball hit veddy good

Sammy Sosa - what was higher, his slugging % or his feilding percentage?

Any Nascar driver- All they do is left turns.

That was better..
im having difficulty rebuting..
your choices are ok i guess..

More one-trickers

Drexler- never really developed a shot.

Bruce Bowen - defense

Joey Chesnut- can he even dribble a basketball?

Matt Hughes - couldn't KO those shatty Tapout kids

+10

I've always said he was just a better verson of Guga...

June 11, 2012  03:33 PM ET

Nadal is dominant on other surfaces too. He beat Federer at Wimbledon and usually makes the semi-final in the other slams.

June 11, 2012  10:39 PM ET

I would have mentioned Tim Couch or J. Russ over Tebow. At least TT wasn't the # 1 overall pick.

June 11, 2012  10:40 PM ET

Jason Kapono...Trajon Langdon was worse.

June 11, 2012  10:41 PM ET

How aboput AI? Had he been willing to PRACTICE maybe he would have won a ring. Doubt it though, he was a lousy teammate.

June 11, 2012  10:42 PM ET

Brandon Jacobs...NO, how about Ki Jana Carter?

June 11, 2012  10:46 PM ET

Speaking of NBAers (current or former) how about Trajon Langdon? Sharp shooting CBB hoopster who couldn't throw the rock into Lake Erie if he was given three chances.

Huh? Dunn had an all time awful year last year, but a one trick pony? He's 2nd in HR's, 3rd in RBI, has an on base % of .369, is tied for the most walks in the majors, and sees more pitches than anyone in the game. Offensively he does everything except hit for a high batting average...how is that a "one trick pony" exactly? I don't care if he hits a single, gets hit by a pitch, or draws a walk...getting on base is getting on base and Dunn does it quite well on top of the power numbers.

Consider what Paul Konerko has done this year and thank Adam Dunn for a big chunk of it. Between seeing several pitches before coming to bat and consistently having runners on base in front of him (meaning more RBI chances and more fastballs) Konerko is having an MVP type season.

Ichiro is often considered one of the best hitters of this generation, but Dunn is a "one trick pony"?

That just tells you how over rated batting average is.

Sure, Suzuki has a career .324 BA thanks to being a slap hitter with speed, but his career on base % is just .367. Adam Dunn is "only" a .243 career hitter, but HIS on base % .374. He actually gets on base more often than the "great hitter" in their careers. Thing is, Adam ALSO hits a **** more HR's and drives in a lot more. Even runs scored, where you would expect Suzuki to have a HUGE advantage hitting lead off with tons of speed...he only averages 11 more runs per 162 games than Dunn.

I like to look at RBI + runs scored to measure offensive productivity. For Dunn, it's 189 per 162; 160 for Ichiro.

David check this out...

Kobe: 16 years-1,722 steals (never hand a single season w/ 200+ steals)

Look at the all time NBA steals leaders and what Kobe has done so far is not impressive at all.

That's a good metric and illustrates just how over rated batting average is to offense.

Great point

Compared to Cy Young. All your favorite pitchers are SHAT.

Kobe is 5th on the active list.

June 12, 2012  02:59 PM ET

Dammit the lag is awful today.

June 12, 2012  03:02 PM ET

Actually I thought Kobe was lower on the all time steals list than 16th.

HA-HA-HA, what does Cy Young have to do with the NBA? So he's 5th on the active list, big deal. Where does he rank all time?

See my # 17 comment.

Due to changes in mechanics that have slowed his fastball, Aroldis Chapman has been shown to throw a devastating slider in 0-2 counts very often, rather than strictly the fastball, as the left insinuates. He also has a curve and a cutter, so I guess he's not a "one-trick-pony" at all.
