Frog, not a bad start:
1. 2004 - When Jerry Rice was traded to the Seahawks in 2004, he asked Steve Largent for permission to unretire #80.
2. October 2007 - Marion Jones admitting to taking PEDs in winning her 5 gold medals at the 2000 Summer Olympics.
3. August 2007 - Michael Vick pleading guilty to the dog fighting charges.
4. June 2008 - Brett Favre, after tearfully announcing his retirement in March, asked to return to the Packers creating one of the sorriest soap operas in NFL history.
5. 2002 - Joe Paterno was told of Jerry Sandusky's actions in the shower room and reported it to the Athletic Director; however, he never followed up on it as he felt that he had done what he was supposed to.
Although I tried to list in timeline order, I listed Paterno last only because it wasn't brought to public attention until November 2011.

he always thought he was a gangster,

vick always hung out with bad people..

I'd almost agree with you on that but, let's face it. We don't know any of these people to have any idea of who they are. We only know media representations. They are all products of PR.
Agassi and Meth - let's see. Nobody ever heard about this until after he released the book. Helped it sell. Did he really? Can't say it helped his image but by saying it happened in the past and look at all the good he's done since then, I tend to think it was put in there to boost sales.
Tiger Woods - this was a tough one but only because we knew nothing of him other than the golf course. He may be the biggest dickweed around. As much as I've enjoyed watching him play, I didn't have an image of him otherwise.
Lance Armstrong is a legitimate one if you care about cycling. That's not me knocking it. Other than hearing about another Tour de France win, I knew nothing of the man. Oh yeah, he lost a nut.
Brady is the epitome of having a good PR team. It's Moynahan though. This blew over relatively quickly though.
A-Rod. Nothing surprises me about this egocentric jerk. You talk about Vick not being role model material. A-Roid, seriously?

I think you are being abit harsh on A-Roid..
To me, he comes across as a quiet man, a man of few words, who kind of likes to be kept to himself..
I actually met him once in florida.. I saw him at my gym, and then I saw him at the beach with his ex wife..
Judging by the way he talked to his personal trainer, (he talked in such a low mumbaling voice), I gathered that A-Rod, was not as bad of a person, as I thought of him..
I am a red sox guy, so naturally I had a low opinion of him, ha ha..
Maybe A-rod is not the smartest, sharpest tool in the shed, but just because he lacks brains and common sense, doesnt make him a bad person..
ps
my parents friends, bought his house in miami..
They said a-rod had 27 TVs in his house, (alot were in his private gym)..
Mostly because he was a big sports nut, just like us!

Rice - such a perfectionist in this position that I expected him to have that respect for others throughout the league. By asking Largent to unretire #80 tells me differently.
Jones - strikes at the heart of patriotism. She was not just a pretty face for the sport; she was the face of the sport. She was that decade's Bruce Jenner and it all ended with a doping admission.
Vick - despite everything out of college, he brought respect back to a flailing franchise making them legitimate again. He gave Atlanta as a whole something to believe in again. He took that all away with the dogfighting scandal.
Favre - the retirement fiasco only started off what became a character demolishing chain of events. Seeing him suit up in another uniform and then even worse, a division rival uniform merely to get back at a franchise that gave him everything. Then, add the scandals with Jen Sterger and the Jets masseuses.
JoePa - a man that is in charge of character building (because that's what our coaches are supposed to be) didn't have the character in himself to follow up on such allegations. Not an issue that you can just say, it's your problem now since I told you.

I just know there are lots of butt-ugly Victoria Secrets Models, right? It's not like they have standards for a woman's appearance being above a certain quality or anything. But everyone will think you're cool if you say someone very attractive is ugly. Sometimes you even get to be the cool kid in class for a few minutes. I bet you think Kim K's butt is too big and Cindy Crawford was ugly becuase of her mole and Kate Upton's breats are too large.
