Worse fad that athletes love(d): making it rain or the lens-less glasses?

Making it rain.

The glasses are horrendous but Pacman Jones once made it rain in a La's Vegas strip joint and three people wound up getting capped.

Getting capped is a whole lot worse than looking like Urkel. By a fairly wide margin.

Making it rain wins in a land slide.

That is all. Good day.

I LOVE making it rain. I love doing it and I love being there when it's done, though I try to avoid it around people who carry guns.

Getting shot may hurt, but it can't be much worse that these atrocities of fashion being paraded before our eyes during press conference. It's like combining the clothes of Urkel and and doughy white serial killer.

I think whoever is behind the lensless glasses look was probably also responsible for The Decision. Whether that's Gabrielle Union or Wade's personal stylist, they have to go.

Bad enough that they lose and trot out lame excuses in their press conference. Do you really want to lose the NBA finals dressed like this?

Here's the thing about making it rain. You're throwing money away. Which is pretty stupid, considering we all hate our jobs and the only reason we force ourselves to get up for work every day is because we need money.

After all that hard wok, why would one want to go toss bills away like they're worthless?

Or I guess some people make it rain for show, with the intention of going back and gathering up all those lonely tewnties after it stops "raining". Such was the case with Pacman Jones. Dude made it rain but when a stripper tried touching his stacks he blew a gasket and confronter the poor girl, which was how the gunfire started.

If Pacman had simply wore those stupid Urkel glasses instead of making it rain, the stripper wouldn't have got her feelings hurt when Pacman took his money back; the bouncer and the two other guys wouldn't have got capped; and Pacman wouldn't have had to kiss Goodell's pasty butt cheeks just to get another chance at an NFL job.

Look at LeBron and Russ Westbrook. What do they have in common? Three things; the dorky glasses, they DON'T make it rain, and they're both in the Finals.

Pacman made it rain and all he got was fired.

Well, if you make it rain, you need to make it rain. You can't go gathering up all your little raindrops and not expect to get shot.

And really, who better than athletes to make it rain? Who else has tons of disposable income that they are going to lose anyway (bad investments, loans to friends, partying). Now, not everyone can afford to make it rain, but professional athletes are uniquely suited to it.

In terms of the glasses, I think it's a leap to make a connection between the glasses and making the finals. Yes, Wade has been wearing the glasses, but he's been terrible in the playoffs. And besides, one of these teams has to lose, meaning either Westbrook or LeBron/Wade is going to lose wearing Urkel glasses.

Even worse, someone is going to show up at the press conference after WINNING in Urkel glasses, and we'll be subject to everyone wearing Urkel glasses next year because they think it leads to championships.

Since Pacman got shot, people who make it rain leave their raindrops alone, making it much safer.

On an related note, some of Lebron's shirt decisions are even worse than the glasses. Combined he looks like a dork lumberjack.

Wearing the Urkel glasses is dorky; making it rain is potentially dangerous and if nothing else shows bad financial stewardship.

That pretty much sums up my entire argument.

Good TD, mikey. I look forward to more in the future. Oh, and good luck in the voting (if anybody decides to start voting at some point, haha)

Good luck

I've been semi-retired from the "Making it Rain" business and only go there for business or Bachelor parties or even after a round of golf. But you will never catch me wearing Urkel lens-less glasses.... not even for Halloween. It's a shame what Garielle Union has done to the Miami Heat (fake glasses = flopping), sure Urkel had his moments but lets not forget that Family Matters was a sitcom. Just like the WWE it was scripted.

I would rather still be "Making it rain" and helping out students that need financial aid, you are giving back to society if done the correct way. Every man before they get married has made it "Rain", just don't "Hog" the meter all night long. Don't be greedy, let someone else help in financially assisting students that are working hard.

Leave the Lens-Less Glasses behind and Make it Rain MFer, you know you want to.

I hate these glasses. They've bothered me for a while now. I don't understand the fascination.

My theory is that they make people feel smarter, but somehow that just makes me think they are dumber.

I hope mikey and I can keep you entertained! :)

I'm willing to do a whole TD on LeBron's shirts, too.

I detest the glasses..Wwwww...sorry marlins..

I detest anyone with money showering others with their fortune in a display of blatant disprespect for those around them. After all, that is what they are doing.

Marlins I applaud you taking the unwinnable position :) but this is ridiculous.

As someone who had no choice but to wear glasses for 30 years (thank God for Lasik surgery), I simply can't think of a single reason anyone would wear them voluntarily. And as a fashion statement at that? puhleese.

On the other side, why do you hate hard working single mothers and College co-eds?? What straight, red blooded male WOULDN'T love to be able to shower these upstanding, underprivileged ladies with desperately needed cash once in their life? It's got to rank among the most philanthropic forms of entertainment on earth!

Yeah, yeah, bring pacman into it. That fool could ruin a wet dream, though. Pac is the exception, not the rule. Don't try to take the money back and you won't have a shoot out.

Yes, because strip joints are otherwise very respectful places...

Haha no doubt, but why not just load up the dancers' g-string with ones instead of randomly showering the club with twenties?

'Cause if you are throwing twenties at her she's gonna lose the g-string altogether?

oh...I mean...how many school books can you buy with a fist full of ones?? :)

I once made it rain in a strip club. Trust me, using silver dollars and 50 cent pieces is not a good idea.

And to think I spent 3 grand so I don't have to wear glasses.
