ideally, i would like to taste both..
like being a pitcher for the indians from 95_00,
then being a yankee from 01_08..
then staying in chicago, till the cubbies won..
If i had to pick one..
it would have to be big market, in particular new york..
Although i am a utilitarian at heart..
and winning a world series title would mean more to the people in a place like cleveland..
(cause lets face it, theres not much to do in cleveland, except watch a baseball game on a monday night)
New york is too good to turn down..
1. With that batting line up, you would get tons of run support as a pitcher..
2. The night life, bars and clubs, are one of the best in the world..
3. The restaurants, are the best in the world..
Plus, if i lived in the middle of nowhere..
i would probably get depressed and drink too much..
i have really high standards in life, and if i feel they are not being met, i get upset..

Obviously, it has to be the small market team.
Take a team like the Pittsburgh Pirates. They are a small market team are not in the middle of no where.
It is a much more rewarding feeling to build a team up from scraps with a very small and tight budget. As Buck Showalter famously said last year, "How smart would Theo Epstein be if he did not have an abundance of money."
The truly great GM's are the ones who operate under small market circumstances and make an underdog a favorite by drafting well and dealing with what little money they have.
Being the GM of the Yankees, is just like Fantasy baseball to a point, oh you want Josh Hamilton, well wait till he is a free agent and then offer him 30 million a year (10 million more than anyone else) and you got him. Oh you want CC Sabathia? Just wait till he is a free agent and pay him royally.
Being a small market GM is a much harder task but a much more rewarding finish.
