I am going to be bold so brace yourself.

Step1: Resign Derek Fisher. He is a great mentor and veteran leader to a very young team.

Step 2: Here is the bold part, Trade James Harden to the Portland Trail Blazers for the sixth overall pick and a guy like Jamal Crawford.

Step 3: WIth the 6th overall pick, draft the best Point guard available, either Damien Lillard or Kendall Marshall.

Step 4: Transition Russell Westbrook into a shooting guard. He is an excellent talent and a great shooter but he is not a pure point guard. A guy like Marshall or a guy like Lillard can help distribute the ball between him and KD.

Step 5: Do not resign either Nate Robinson or Nazr Muhhamed, that frees up about 7-8 million under the cap.

Step 6: Use that money to sign Brandon Bass.

There lineup would look like so:
1-Kendall Marshall/Damien Lillard
2-Russell Westbrook
3-Kevin Durant
4-Brandon Bass/Serge Ibaka/Kendrick Perkins
5-Serge Ibaka/Kendrick Perkins/Brandon Bass

And then coming off the bench you have, the 3rd big man, Derek Fisher, Jamal Crawford, and Nick Collinson.

This tea can be scary good.

Just a few things:

Derek Fisher isn't coming back. Not with a healthy Eric Maynor returning next season. The only reason the Thunder signed Fisher was because Maynor was hurt.

Lilliard wouldn't make much sense anyway since he is a scoring PG and he and Westbrook both need the ball.

Nate Robinson plays for Golden State. So, they still wouldn't be able to afford Bass. Not to mention, they don't need Bass with Collison on the bench. He is a serviceable player on the 2nd unit.

Ibaka and Harden are both restricted free agents after the 2013 season and they can't afford to re-sign both of them.

Here's what I would do:

Nothing.

This is a team that has Harden who is 22.

Ibaka is 22.

Durant is 23.

Westbrook is 23.

Kendrick Perkins is 27.

Sefolosha is the old man at 28.

This is their first time in the NBA finals together as a team.

I realize that Ibaka and Harden are restricted FA's next summer, but they will have options then and I will address those later.

There is one major miss in Aminkoff's team setup.

June 18, 2012  12:12 PM ET

which is?

Do nothing.

First Finals appearance, the Thunder will only learn from this experience.

I want to wait until DJ posts but there is a players on the roster that was missed that would change everything on rights team.

They should like their wounds after coming so close but not being able to defeat Miami.

My fault, I was looking at their cap position prior to the season when they had Robinson, my mad do not know how that one slipped my mind. Well with the cap increasing, and they still lose Muhhamad's 3.75 million dollar contract they should be able to sign Bass. So doesnt make that much of a difference. And I dont think that Reggie Jackson or Eric maynor or Royal Ivey are good enough to assume the starting PG position.

They should enjoy their trophy. Send pics of it to Seattle. Love -Stern.

Nate Robinson?

Also, for a young team that's in the Finals, I wouldn't dare change much.

Continue developing, tweak role players and that's it.

I'd think Miami did what they needed to do to win home field advantage with their upset in game 2, so this think probably won't make it out of Miami. If Oklahoma keeps faltering against the Miami defense, they can't win in Miami anyway. So its probably a good idea to start thinking about offseason moves.
