Part 1
Of the six teams that made the playoffs in the AFC last year, (they are...)
New England Patriots
Baltimore Ravens
Houston Texans
Denver Broncos
Pittsburgh Steelers
Cincinatti Bengals
Which team is LEAST likely to return to the playoff this upcoming season?
Part 2
Pick the team that did not make the playoffs that will most likely replace them.
Picks 1st. Arguments 2nd and 3rd.
I think that the Cincinnati Bengals will not make it and they will be replaced by the San Diego Chargers.

When I look at the AFC I see these teams making it in:
AFC East - NE
AFC North - Baltimore/Pittsburgh
AFC South - Houston
AFC West - Denver
Which leaves Buffalo, NY Jets, Maimi, Cincy, Cleveland, Indy, Jax, KC, SD, and Oaklnad vying for 1 WC spot.
I only see one team out West making it. So eliminate SD, KC, and Oakland.
Jax and Indy are terrible. Eliminated. Cleveland is terrible, eliminated. Miami, QB issues, eliminated.
That leaves 4 teams. NY Jets, Buffalo, Cincy, and Tennessee.
I would've picked the Jets but bringing in Tebow was just an awful move. One pick from Sanchez and there will be a QB controversy if there is not already. Too much pressure on this team to have any faith in them.
Buffalo is Buffalo. 8-8 would be a good season
I expect a sophomore slump from Andy Dalton, and I also don't see 3 teams from the same division making it in again.
That leaves the Tennessee Titans. Per TD rules I will explain why the Titans are the choice the land the last WC spot in my 2nd and 3rd args.

According to your argument I think that we both agree that Cincinnati will miss the playoffs this season so I won't waste too much time arguing that point.
I don't see it with tennessee though. Who is your quarterback? Over the hill Matt Hasselback or unproven Jake Locker? Not too good to pick a team that already has a quarterback controversy going on.
My pick has no such trouble. With Phillip Rivers I'm getting a multi time pro bowl quarterback who's taken his team to the playoffs multiple times. Antonio Gates was injured for a good part of last season but he returns healthy this season.
The Titans are in a division surrounded by teams that are getting bad. The colts can't possibly be as bad this season as they were last and i'll argue that Luck is an upgrade over either of the titan qbs. There is no way that Houston won't win the division again because they are leaps and bounds better then the Titans.
I can't see the titans grabbing a wild card over the better team, the chargers (or broncos, whoever doesnt win that division). Pitt or Balt will be a wc team.
San Diego has a much better qb and their defenses are about the same.
Chargers > Titans

Hasselbeck is a solid veteran QB. He was middle of the pack or better last season in QB rating, completion%, yards, and TDs. I think he will show improvement as this will be his 2nd season in the offense. Locker showed flashes last season.
Rivers is coming off a bad season by his standards and threw 20 INT's.
But the playoffs will not be made or lost based on one position.
The Titans offense boasts one of the top backs in the NFL, Chris Johnson. They are deep at WR with Washington, Britt, and Wright. Cook at TE is solid. They have good weapons on offense. Hutchinson was signed to play guard which improves their interior line.
What proof is there that Indy or Jax are getting better? They are both terrible and I expect the Titans to rattle off 4 wins right there.
SD on the other hand plays in the tough AFC West.
But where I expect the difference to be made is in the coaching department. SD has steadily regressed under Norv Turner, and I expect the trend to continue this season which will finally result in his dismissal.
Mike Munchak guided the Titans to a 9-7 mark last season and carried momentum down the stretch. Look for that to continue this season.

I love the Jets (im a jets fan) but i think there will be a quarterback controversy 5 minutes into the preseason and there is nothing to show this team wont be a PR nightmare like it is every other season.

I think the same six teams, realistically, but Pittsburgh takes the division and Baltimore is the first wildcard. Cincinatti is the weak link, but looking at the rest of the AFC I don't see who beats them. San Diego should be the best choice on paper, but they just don't have the killer instinct to win when they have to. Tebow-Denver beat them last year, and I don't see where they're going to improve.

So you're saying that your and Dave's opinions are the only ones that matter? I don't see why you can't have 6 of the same TD topic with 12 different people arguing and come up with good repartee in all 6 TDs.

As long as the Chargers have Norv Turner as coach they will never play to their potential. I'm surprised that they didn't fire him after last season.

I automatically vote against any argument based on putting down Tim Tebow. So vote left. He only carried the Broncos to the 2nd round of the playoffs on his back, that's all. But hey, why let facts get in the way of ignorance.

And that's the vote of a fool actually believing that was all Tebow. Motivating, yes, actually a good QB, no. Lay off the Jonestwon punch.

I agree. All you said was bringing him will create a QB controversy. That's true and isn't a slam on Tebow.
