You don't have the 76ers or the Hawks making the playoffs? And you have the Bucks and Cavs making it? Although the Hawks traded Joe Johnson, they still have a good solid core with Jeff Teague, Josh Smith, and Al Horford. They've also added a good scorer in Lou Williams, and that's a playoff team right there. The 76ers also had a good run in the playoffs last year, and aside from the lost of Brand, they still have a good, young, solid core, way better than the inexperienced Cavs and Bucks.

The Cavs have added some VERY good young players, and if Thompson does ANYTHING to justify that draft status, they could be a 45 win team. With Irving playing like he is- he could be an All-Star with Rose out.

Josh Smith and Jeff Teague? That's going to lead you into the playoffs? I love me some Horford, but saying they are better than Jennings, Ellis and Henson?

The Hawks gave away Joe Johnson, and were not exactly fighting for homefeild WITH him.

You do understand the Sixers lost Elton Brand, while not what he was, was an above average PF. They also lost Lou Williams, who was only their leading scorer, Iggy averaging two points LESS.

Of course they did replace all that with. . . .

The immortal KWAME BROWN

The Cavs, a 45 win team with all the inexperienced players they have? All they have is Irving. We can't assume that Thompson will play well, and from what we saw last year, everybody was right how it was a very weak draft. They are still probably 2-3 years from even making a run at the 8 seed.

Yes, Josh Smith, an all-star talent IMO and an all-star Horford. Jeff Teague is steadily improving and is already a solid PG. They also added Lou Williams. And a perennial playoff team like the Hawks are definitely better than a Bucks team that is very inefficient in offense even with BJenn and Monta. Don't even mention Henson, he has yet to play a single game in the NBA.

The 76ers can easily deal with the loss of Brand with the continued improvement of their young big Allen and a healthy Hawes. They also got a hot shot shooter in Nick Young and have most of their young, and still improving core.

I CANNOT SEE CLEVELAND AND MILWAUKEE MAKING THE PLAYOFFS

Well, lets see if we can't look at these points one by one

Yes, Josh Smith, an all-star talent

== This is a player who has NEVER gotten player of the week, not ANY MVP votes, and other than blocks has never been top 10 in ANY STATISTICAL PER GAME AVERAGE.

EVER

Josh rolls 18.8 PPG, 9.6 RPG and 3.9APG

19th in NBA in scoring, and 13th in rebounding.

Let me know when that knocks

Carmelo Anthony
Chris Bosh
Andre Iguodala
LeBron James
Joe Johnson
Paul Pierce

Out of the Forward Spots in the All-star game

As for Jeff Teague- the guy that averaged 4.9 APG last season is one of the "great young PGs?" 4.9APG to go with 2 turnovers per game. Nice.

NEXT

Sixers were the EIGHT sed, this isn't picking the Heat to miss the playoffs here- this is picking the 8 seed to miss.

They have to replace TOP Scorer, #5 scorer, Top Shotblocker, AND top rebounder? Not to mention the guy that got to the line the most? By over a shot a game?

Much as you seem to hate youth, you are putting a lot on a 23 year old who's never cracked 14PPG

I think you both under rate the Bulls.

I think the Bulls, minus Rose, are still than the Knicks and Celtics.

I honestly think that the Bulls can go 50/50 in terms of performance. How will they handle not having Rose at the start of the season? You really can't be sure, but I still have them making the playoffs, and giving the Heat a tough fight in the first round

They already played without Rose and finished with one of the best records.................................overrating the Knicks as contenders...same for the Pacers.....to me it's Miami, Chicago, Boston, Brooklyn.....of all the teams under the first 3 Brooklyn would be the most complete, Deron, Joe J, Gerald Wallace, Khris, Lopez....that lineup is better then the rest of the east

They had THE best record last year in the East. Only San Antonio had a better overall record.

David, do you think the Raptors will be so bad that they won't even qualify to be placed in the standings? lol
