Nah.

Not saying he's technically bad for the Bears but I don't think he's good for them, either.

He is talented, or at least he's blessed with a cannon for an arm. He does have a strong arm, I think we can all agree on that.

He's not accurate. Never has been. He's completed under 61% of his passes for his career. And he throws a lot of picks; 91 INTs in 80 career games.

But he has a strong arm and he can whip the ball around the field and he has good size and NFL people love that **** and so people think he's better than he really is. He's sort of the anti-Alex Smith in terms of attitude, skill level, and of course reputation.

He's also a bit of a malcontent and he seems to have a constant bad attitude. He doesn't have a reputation for being liked by his teammates. He doesn't have a reputation for leading by example, either. He's known more as a trash talker/whiner than anything else. Also there have been questions regarding his toughness, deserved or not.

So he probably isn't helping the Bears' chemistry, and he sure hasn't won a SB or anything of note.

Meaning while he might not be bad for the Bears, he isn't good for them either.

Last season Jay Cutler got injured. Things were going great for the Bears, even with Forte injured, they were playing great football. But once Cutler got injured, they got derailed.

Bears 2011 record with Cutler: 7-3
Bears record without Cutler: 1-5

Through 10 games of the season, the Bears were well on their way to the playoffs. But after Cutler got injured, things completely fell apart. In the 6 games without Cutler, the Bears offence scored 21 points once, and scored less than 20 in each of the other 5 games, and only averaged 14 points a game. 14 points a game was good for 29th in football. And they weren't playing strong D's, they played 3 games against the bottom 10 D's in football.

With Cutler, last year the Bears averaged 26.8 points a game, nearly two more TD with him than without him. 26.8 points a game would have been 5th in all of football last season.

Now consider what Cutler has been given in Chicago. He has played two games with a good WR in Marshall, before that his best WR has been Earl Bennet. He has the worst O-Line in football, and led the league in sacks in 2010, was leading in 2011 before he got hurt, and has been sacked 9 times already in 2012.

Well, yeah. Cutler is a good player. I know that; we all do. That's a given. Or at least I thought it was.

But what I'm saying is despite the fact that he's talented, he's not worth the headache in Chicago.

I hope that's clear.

Obviously the Bears are going to have better odds of winning games with Cutler playing QB then say, backup Jason Campbell. Or Caleb Hanie. Or whoever the hell else the Bears have used at QB in recent years. Orton is another guy I forgot.

Obviously the Bears are better with Cutler. I'm not disputing that.

I'm saying Cutler isn't good for the Bears.

Reasons include his attitude problems, a perceived lack of guts, a tendency to publicly berate teammates, even if that means putting his hands on a player.

Culter breaks almost every unwritten Bro-Code rule amongst the NFL fraternity.

You don't publicly berate teammates, especially not over and over.

You don't lay your hands on another grown man.

You don't add unnecessary pressure on your team by calling out the Packers, for ****'s sake.

You don't biich publicly about coaching schemes.

Not unless you're winning SBs, at least, and Cutler hasn't won **** Chicago.

He is not worth the headache? Really?

How big of a headache is the guy? He is no TO or Randy Moss. He yelled at an O-Linemen for terrible blocking all game, but in the same game Aaron Rodgers tore into James Jones for running the wrong route, which was just as bad. It wasn't even close to the screaming match Tom Brady had with one of his coach before. Not that big of a deal.

Calling out the Packers D isn't a big deal either. In rival games, this happens all the time. How about the time when Ray Lewis called out Tom Brady? Or how about Lovie Smith adding pressure to his own team unnecessarily by saying this is the best team he has ever brought into Lambeau.

With Jay Cutler last year, the Bears were sitting pretty only behind the 49ers and Packers in the NFC before his injury. In 2010, the Bears finished second in the NFC, won the division, and came within 7 points of the Super Bowl. If Jay Cutler doesn't get injured, they probably go to and win the Super Bowl (coming from a Packers fan!).

"Obviously the Bears are better with Cutler"

So how exactly would they be better off without Cutler?

The Bears could not win Super Bowls with anybody.

They choose to not win with Jay Cutler, and if reports are true that Cutler isn't liked and that he pushed a teammate then Cutler isn't good for the Bears. Again, I'm not saying hes hurting them on the field but more specifically in the locker room, and he may be hurting Chicago's status as a free agent destination as well.

Either you understand the semantics or you don't, and that is all.

You make it sound like he slugged his teammate and had a big fight. There have been many bigger fights in Bear practices and training camps this year alone.

Nobody likes him? Says who? Brandon Marshall is known to love the guy. Brain Urlacher came out and defended Jay after the NFC Championship loss. When if he didn't like him he could have just remained silent and let Jay get blasted in the media all off-season.

Urlacher on Cutler:
"He's tough as hell. He's one of the toughest guys on our football team. He doesn't ****. He doesn't complain when he gets hit. He goes out there and plays his ass off every Sunday. He practices every single day. So, no, we don't question his toughness."

I don't know how you think he is hurting them in the locker-room. You aren't in there, and there is no indication that he is, and it is not showing on the field either.

Hurting the Bears status as a free agent destination? They signed one of the biggest name free agents of the last decade in Julius Peppers. Brandon Marshall all but demanded he wanted to go to the Bears with Cutler. And has anyone on the Bears asked out? No.

Cutler is the best QB the Bears have had in nearly 3 decades!

Donnie Mac is still available. Sure he wouldn't mind giving up that TV money for another chance to be talked about again.

They have Jason Campbell, but I don't think they should quit on Cutler.

If he comes out and plays like he did agains the Colts (1-12 to start the game) and Packers he shuld have two to three weeks max before Campbell comes in.

I'm gonna say YES

And I'll argue it

Jay Cutler is only good for whoever is playing the Bears...

If the Bears want to win they'll have to play Campbell instead of Cuntler.

But is he good for Chicago? He is as good A's Romo is to the Cowboys, in a yo-yo Ridesalot-way.
