this trade happen just before the trade deadline, this gives philip rivers a veteran WR to work with, this is good news because the chargers passing game is missing eric parker. chambers has 31 receptions for 415 yards and no touchdowns, compare that to the chargers leading receiver Vincent Jackson, who has 20 catches for 320 yards and two scores. this offense just got better a lot better this is going to be a dangerous offense with Chris Chambers L.T. and Antonio Gates. expect to see the chargers offense to score more and produce more total yards

Help them how? Super Bowl? Playoffs? Win next week? The Chargers just don't seem to utilize the WR very effectively. They prefer to pass it to Gates or Tomlinson. I think he will probably catch a few passes from them, but I don't know what you mean by help. Look at David Boston a couple years back, he put up huge numbers in Arizona and signed a crazy contract with the Chargers, his production dropped off and he was traded several times, and now he's out of the league. I'm not saying this will happen with Chambers, but I don't see him making a big impact.

they trade for him because they plain to use him, they wouldn't just give away a draft pick to just thrown to him a couple of times. i expect him to become the primary receiver to philip rivers, they will find away to give him the ball but make sure that gates and L.T. still get there share of touches

I know they're going to use him, I'm just saying that I don't expect him to put up amazing numbers because the Chargers like to get the ball to other players. And you still haven't answered my question. Help them how? Obviously when you add a skill position player it helps you. I don't think Chambers will help them win a Super Bowl or anything like that.

they don't have a key receiver to throw to, gates and l.t cant carry the hole team on there backs they need anther player that can catch the ball help stretch the field and take some of the load of gates and l.t.s back

Ok. So you're obviously not going to answer my question. Anyway, Chris Chambers isn't exactly a star receiver. He's only Had more than 70 catches once in his career and only gone over 1000 yards once. He's not a threat in the red zone, he's only 5'11". The Chargers have taller receivers who will be utilized in the red zone. With Norv Turner at the helm, personnel doesn't really make a huge difference anyway, he sucks.

Makes them team to beat in AFC West and way LT is running.....Chargers just became relevant again......Chambers is better than WR SD had.....

Well duh they don't use their receivers effectively, THEY STINK!

October 16, 2007  08:13 PM ET

in 2005, he made 82 catches for 1,118 yards and 11 scores, Miami cant find a way to give him the ball,

As a Dolphan I am LMAO. Even though we Hav'nt had a QB in years I'll take a #2 pick any day for this under performer. Best move Cam has made yet! He will get some yards with the sorry defenses in the west though.

Yes CC will help them. Just give him a minute ........ anyways..... I LOVE WAKE!!!!!!! GO DEAC'S

He most definately will help the Chargers. The best receivers the Chargers had before the trade played TE and RB. Didn't David Boston "juice" up when he went to the Chargers. He must have weighed 260 lbs.

I do think that the Chargers gave up a little too much for him but an NFL's "window" for a championship opens and shuts quickly so I agree with the trade.

Oh, well, as long as YOU expect him to be their main target, Wake...what a crock, dude. The Dolphins said he was going to be their main target this year.

Considering they really can't lose more than two games the rest of the way, I don't think a WR is going to help them out a whole helluva lot.
