Alright im really bored so im starting this
beckett vs. sabathia - probably a better matchup than game 1 but becket will come out on top
schilling is so clutch
than you got game 3 which is anyones game
Steelercooz said 10/17, 07:20 PM
For me, I'd rather see Beckett a second time when my team has all the momentum than to see Sabathia in his first start after a loss when my team's bats are cold.
Nothing against Josh Beckett, but Sabathia has the mentality, the arm strength, and, amazing considering his waistline, the stamina to do exactly what Beckett himself is best known for: closing out a team with an enormous payroll whose fans already penciled in as champions.
The Indians are playing perfect October baseball. They're making plays defensively, hitting in bunches and are getting huge performances from role players. Even with a nice cushion, they know exactly what you said, Beckett is a great pitcher, and they don't want to see Schilling in Game Six - lest the media overrun us with stories about The Sock again.
Boston is a great team, and like the fate of many other great teams, just cooled off at the wrong time: the same time the weather did. Playoff series can't be won by one or two guys. The Indians are playing with eight, several quality performances on the mound, and a deep bullpen.

I doubt it!
The Tigers have a better shot than them now!

The Red Sox won't take it. The Indians or the Rockies will take it. I am going to say that the Indians will take it. If they can beat the Red Sox then they can beat the Rockies.

Always fear the team that isn't supposed to be there...Brownie cookies are good...
By the way, the last sentence in my argument is a tad awkward. I meant eight guys in the field, nine hitters, great starting pitching and bullpen help.

The Rockies are going to have an eight day layoff. That will be what cools them off. That, and the fact that they will finally play a real team. I'd give the Rockies a better shot against Boston(If they manage a miracle) than against the Indians. Boston has many holes in the lineup and rotation. The Indians are prime and ready for a WS victory.
Anywho, GO SOX!!!

The layoff will destroy them. The only thing (outside of a punch to the mouth) that slows down momentum is time off.

Down two games, the chances of Boston making a comeback are slim. Everyone other than Ortiz and Ramirez are not hitting, and everyone other than Beckett are pitching horribly.

Here's a fun thought, Sox fans...Dice-K or Wakefield in Game 7? hmmm...it was nice to quickly leaf through a Bill Simmons column to see that he's finally stopped patting himself on the back, and was actually talking trash to the announcers yesterday.
That's when you know you need to sit the next few plays out. TAKE THAT, TIM MCCARVER, YOU 95-YEAR-OLD B@STARD!

Iron Curtain sees Indians vs Rockies in thy WS. The Indians are so pesky. And their clutch hitting has been fantastic. Getting all the big hits. With that said, I think the Red Sox will win game 5. Beckett is incredible in big games and C.C. has struggled this postseason.
And I'm not counting out the Rockies. They have been just as clutch, just as solid, and just as textbook as the Indians.

And "ugh" to Bill Simmons.

I just remember how funny it was when he wrote 4,500 words on how fantastic Dice-K was when the Red Sox bought him. So ironic, considering that Dice-K's rise and sharp fall was so similar to that of Hideo Nomo's, Simmons would have been leading the nation in jokes about his demise had he not been signed by Boston.
And who says ESPN doesn't show bias toward Boston? They just gave Simmons something like 500k a year for the next few years.

Bill Simmons won't friggin shut up about Boston teams. I mean, c'mon, the guy works for ESPN, and he's the most biased guy out there. Not saying this as a Yankees fan, unless a Yankees fan/writer works for the NY Post, he should still talk about other teams at least close to as much as the Yanks.

Simmons has gotten past the point where he's in awe about what he does. Now, he is so incredibly impressed with himself he's lost touch with the exact audience that made him who he is. He got a huge contract, and has basically cut out any form of interesting writing he used to do, pukes back up the same BS about the Patri-Red-Tics and takes home far too big of a paycheck.
I bet he fights dogs, too.

Bill Simmons makes me throw up slightly. It's like the lady in Young Frankenstein, whenever someone says her name, wolves howl (except I throw up).
