Johnny Football, duh.

Your turn.

Manti Football!

the Manti ray

the praying Mantis

Manti the Panti raider

Manti the Polynesian pounder

ok so he doesn't have a cool nickname (unlesss one of these treasures happens to stick)

but he deserves the Heisman!

aaaaaand GO!

I like Manti. I think he's a great player and he seems like a stand-up dude, and honestly I haven't heard even a rumor or anything negative. Seems like a great kid.

He shouldn't be winning the Heisman, though. Two reasons why.

Reason 1, Teo hasn't had a "Heisman"-type season.

It's true. Teo has had some really outstanding games but it's not like he was a difference maker, week in and week out. He's a great LB (albeit a MLB, one of the easier positions to fill) but he certainly hasn't been the most dominant player (or even defender) in college football.

ND finished first in the BCA and had an outstanding defense this year. Teo is the best player on the team and therefore is sort of the figure head of ND circa 2012. That, combined with his painfully moving personal life (lost grandma and girlfriend within like a week or two of each other) has elevated Teo to a lofty standing that his on-the-field play hasn't quite warranted.

Reason 2, Johnny Football.

This dude, on the other hand, straight up brought it this year. 4,600 yards, 43 TD's. For a FRESHMAN quarterback playing for a lowly regarded A&M team in their SEC-cherry popping season.

Heisman-ish.

There is a reason I stopped doing throwdowns... Every time I do, it seems, I get called away on business. Good TD Marlins. While I still believe Teo "Deserved" the Heisman, I do also believe that my extended absence calls for my forfeiture. Again, Good TD Marlins.

This is clearly an easy win attempt.

it wouldn't offend me if Te'o won because he is clearly one of the reasons Notre Dame is where they are. but without Manziel where would the Aggies have been this year? He seems to have that ability, that everyone references but so few truly have, to raise the performance of everyone around him. remarkable young man. still truly hate saddling him with that nickname tho

After what Manti Teo went through this season? With losing his Grandmother and girlfriend within **

24 hours and still be the emotional leader that also set by example on of one of the most if not the most storied college football team in America. A team that faced Michigan, Stanford, BYU, Oklahoma and USC and came out of it undefeated.... Teo and Johnny football both had an amazing season, but I'm leaning toward Teo to earning the award and yet it will be hard to vote against a stud like Johnny Football.... Roll Tide [ don't really care for Bama winning, just wanted to say it, damn commercial ].

Heisman candidates suck this year.

It should be Marquise Lee, perhaps the greatest college receiver ever. However, will he get any first or second place votes? Nope.

Not really. Johnny football will probably win an sec title next year, or the year after.

Te'o is great defensive player, but I haven't really heard of him totally taking over a game like Suh did @ Nebraska. Johnny is electric, but he's a "freshman", they don't like to give freshmen the trophy. He really should win it, But it'll go to Klein.

Look out for Yeldon next season. That kid is unreal.

No. Because everytime he has a turnover, Saban punishes him and sits him down too long.

He's a true freshman...

But, Gurly>Yeldon

ND loses at least 3 games without Te'o in the middle of their D. Besides, Manzeil will have his shot next year, Manti is a senior.

Does it really matter that the best player is a freshman?
