Odds are that Mike Piazza will not make it into the Hall of Fame with the nominees currently being considered.
Statistically there is no case not to allow him into the Hall of Fame. He had no arm but he blocked the plate well and called a good game. He is however the best offensive catcher in history. The only argument that will be used will be steriods and PED's.
He is not mentioned in any leaked information of those who tested positive. Mcnamee and Rodomski have not mentioned him as a client and he appears on no Federal reports and was not been investigated when Balco was.
I don't believe you need the smoking gun to keep a guy out of the Hall. I wouldn't vote for Clemens or Bonds at this point and there are no definitive failed tests on them either. However, Bonds and Clemens had some of their best years at ages when most are winding down or already done. There is a mountain of evidence in the book "Game of Shadows" against Bonds and of course Canseco called them both out.
But where is the evidence...any evidence against Piazza? Should just the suggestion keep him out this time around?

Clemens never tested positive!
show me where he did?!
Also, Bonds def. used, but damn, his ****'N #'s, 7 mvps, 700 something homeruns.
So I def. disagree with you on that POINT.
If I had a vote, I'd vote for Clemens and Bonds.
Everybody gets all excited about the 'roids, but like John Kruk said last night, "you can't erase the era".
Bonds without steriods, probably woulda had Frank Thomas like numbers.
Clemens, cy young king, the "rocket", he might of juiced, but the tests say he never did.
Took this td, because everybody was soooo scared. Piazza is a hall of famer in my book, but some of your points arn't right, bottom line.

You've completely missed the point of my argument. It is a fact the writers did not vote in Piazza, Bonds and Clemens due to PED's. You can't statistically say they aren't H.O.F.'ers. It doesn't matter if I agree or not.
Clemens never tested positive but his personal trainer who was with him for years and his former best friend Andy Petitte said he did them. Look at Clemens #'s in 1999 and the first half of 2000. Horrible. McNamee is on the scene and now he's a beast again and ends up beaning Piazza and then throwing a bat at him in the World Series and remains a beast into his 40's. Enough evidence for me.
Bonds had an entire book written about his usage. It's backed up by Conte from Balco, his ex girlfriend and his trainer goes to jail for over a year for contempt rather than testify against him. And he went from 30 HR's a year to 80 and becomes a monster in hhis 40's.
Once again, enough evidence for me.
Where is any evidence against Piazza? Shouldn't there be at least something before not voting for the guy? He was a shell of himself at 33 like a catcher is suppossed to be. He got progressively worse as he got older.
