STATS:
12 ppg, 3 rebs. 2 assists, possibly 1 steal a game.

Since this is all speculation and opinion I'll give it a go.
First, Mike celebrates his 50th birthday this month. There is NO WAY he would get the minutes to average 12 ppg. He would still sell tickets, or at least he would until the fan draw diminished due to his lack of PT.
Because of his limited PT, the only rebounds he would grab would be the occasional one that bounced straight to him. The 1 steal a game; no way he averages that through the season.
There is no way he could still guard guys Westbrook or any of the other top guards in the league.
I was a huge MJ fan and I for one still believe he was the best ever. However, age takes its toll hard beyond the 40 year mark when running against the young guns. Fifty is absolutely brutal.
Would I choose MJ in a pick up game, absolutely. Would I start him on any team in the NBA at the age of 50? No way.

.06 up on the steal average, homie.
How old is Bernard Hopkins?
haha jk diff. sport
MJ is 50, but we have to admit, he's a FREAK. I get that basketball's a running game, but I think he could still partake.
Also, could you imagine the young bucks in the league, how could theynot resist passing to their idol?
It's very rare, very rare. But I think Mike could pull this one off. I also think, giving limited minutes, and his age/legs of course, that he would def. be relying on the jump shot. We all remember the "push". Being an avid fan of basketball, and playing here once every two weeks, in this part of my life lol, I think it's hard to lose a good jump shot when you've got one. That's something that never leaves. You lose your quickness, agility, strength, lungs (running), but you never really lose your shot. You throw the rock for some years, you form traits to your game.
You have to know MJ still plays a LOT. Also, i know last year, he was going down and playing the players. I could quote a lot of people word for word, even one nba player said this past week, MJ could still average double digits. Don't you think they know better than us

Okay PCH, you have to understand, MJ running the floor in a pick up game for 40 minutes or more , against scrubs, is no grueling grind like an 82 game NBA bump and bruise season.
MJ averaged less than 20 pts per 36 minutes in his last season and that was one of the main reasons he retired-retired. That and the fact that injuries were becoming more and more frequently and more prolonged. He missed close to 20 games the next to last season and did not start in 15 games his last season. His PT was becoming too limited even on a team he ran.
And now, ELEVEN years later you think he is going to get enough PT to average 12 ppg for 82 games or are you saying he will play three games and have 36 points during JUST those three games?
I say there is no way he scores 984 pts for the season. You have to be one of the featured players on a team and be highly active every single game. I don't see him being able to do that.
It is fun to think about. And again, since this is fantasy just exactly where do you see him finishing in minutes played?

Are we discrediting Michael's brilliance, and, AND, WORK ETHIC?50 or not, he wouldn't play that much, so the "legs" wouldn't be tested like people think. MJ still has game, best believe. Look at these two interesting readings.
Let's crunch some numbers. JumpUSA.com lists Jordan's standing reach at eight to 10 feet while noting that you need to be able to touch four to six inches above the rim to dunk a ball. So we can calculate (estimate) that Jordan has, at minimum, an 18" vertical leap. Pretty solid given that he is pushing 50 years old. In case you were wondering, the site lists his highest measured vertical at 43".

AND
???I wouldn???t doubt that in the right situation with a LeBron (James) on his team or with a Kobe (Bryant) on this team, he could get you about 10 or 11 points, come in and play 15-20 minutes,??? said Antawn Jamison before the Lakers played the Bobcats on Friday. ???I wouldn???t doubt that at all, especially if he was in shape and injuries were prevented and things of that nature.???
That???s saying a lot, considering Jamison has Bryant on his team, and only averages 8.1 points per game in 20.5 min.

He would be far worse. He is 50 and his body has a lot of wear on it. Would be surprised if he could start more than 30 games. He has also probably lost a lot of step. He wouldn't be beating guys off the dribble or even off screens anymore. His legs wouldn't have the lift he had even when he played in DC. He probably wouldn't even make a team and have to be rejected out of the league Jerry Rice style.

His legs are gone, but shot?
No way. He'd rely on the jump shot.

I'm pretty sure the ememy of all active people (arthritus) will have gotten Jordan by age 50, especially his knees.
All those years of running on a hard wood floors can't be good for the knees later in life!

Trust me. As much as MJ shoots in his spare time, i doubt his jumpers gotten worse. It's probably damn perfected. 70 or not.

The Heat could sign MJ. He would only have to play the final minute of close games (replacing LeBron).

So some blogger plays fantasy and makes a baseless claim and you think that is an argument? MJ was great, the greatest but the key word is was. He would only embarrass himself.
