Patrick Ewing vs Dwight Howard..

*in their primes'

mono -e- mono

To 10 by one's.

I have Ewing, 10-8.

Ewing at least had a better jumper. Could easily body up with Superman.

I disagree.....I don't think it would be that close

Ewing had too much offense and was great on defense on Howard. Also, he was a true center and would have swallowed whatever Dwight tried to do on offense.

Ewing is up 6-1 and Howard leaves the court complaining about his shoulder, back or whatever.

haha

I doubt Dwight acts like a b8tch in the footsteps of greatness.

*Also, don't forget, Ewing was Dwight's centers coach in Orlando.

I see this being really competitive.

Let's agree that Dwight doesn't quit, however, I don't think it will be that close

Ewing is listed as 7'0 240 and Howard at 6'11 250

Both have the same height and weight which is important. This means that it will come down to skills.

While it's fairly obvious that Ewing was the far better offensive player, he also was a great defender.

At the height of his career, Ewing averaged 28 pts, 11 rebs and 4 blocks
If were to look at Dwight's best yr thus far, he avg 21 pts, 14 rebs and 3 blocks

In a game of one on one, rebs aren't that important.

What is important is scoring ability and being able to defend, i.e. block the shot

Ewing can score both in and outside of the paint and even put the ball on the floor.

Howard on the other hand is a statue w/out the ball and needs to get it in post spots

Presuming they are checking the ball at the top of the key, Ewing would have the obvious offensive advantage

Howard on the other hand would have difficulty because he's very weak at dribbling and also taking an outside shot.
He's not bigger than Howard, so he can't try to back him down

The dynamics of a one on one makes Ewing the easy winner

that's great. So you agree with me? Or are you going with your intial statement? "6-1" Ewing.

I personally think Dwight's still raw, to sum it up. I mean, he's won some defensive player of the year awards. I don't neccessarily think Ewing would abuse him. That's why I went with Ewing 10-8.

Of course Ewing was .. wait... more "polished".

Dwight is making Shaq chuckle every 2 seconds.

Sh8t, that made me chuckle.

Anywho, I made this td to get at Dwight a little bit. I mean, it's obvious. You have a blowout, I say Dwight doesn't do half bad. Ewing wins a close one, Dwight can't block his jumper so easily. Hey, thanks for your great statistical breakdown. You pretty much agreed with me. We didn't even really need stats. Anybody that knows anything about the NBA knows that the center positition is weak as hel* right now. Arguably the 2nd best center in the league's getting hurt bowling for God's sake. haha Ewing had a lot of compeition, he's the seasoned warrior.

I say Ewing wins 10-4

Howard is in his 9th season, so I say he no longer fits the "raw" category. In fact, if we look at the general life cycle of an athlete, once the get a major injury is the time in which they start to decline.

Howard is 27 yrs old and has been dealing with major back and shoulder problems, so we can arguably say that his best yrs may be behind him.

I don't think it would be close. Howard has almost no offensive game out of the boast and by suggesting the matchup would be close, I don't think it will.

Ewing would completely dominate Howard

I think Ewing would win too but 10-6!

Hey PCHY!

Did you hear about Swagger getting a DUI after the Smackdown taping Tuesday night/early Wed morning. Hwe was alos charged with marajuana possession and speeding. Think WWE will pull the rug out from under his push now?

And if so, how will they explain it storyline wise???

February 21, 2013  01:36 PM ET

i think it'd be ewing about 10-2 cuz dwight just don't care

February 22, 2013  05:12 PM ET

Didn't hear about Swagger. Yeah, he might have the rug taken from under his legs.

It looks like instead of suspending Swagger WWE is having Zeb and Swagger go after John Beck instead.

Only in the WWE!

Overall center and strong jaw line, I have to go with Ewing IMO. If Howard develops his offense under the Hakeem the Dreams coaching in the near, than I'd give it to Howard.

If you included free throws then it would be Ewing by a landslide over DH IMO.
