Pick one athlete per argument whom you would be most unhappy if you found out that they were using PED's. This is a pretty dumb debate but FN has taken a complete nosedive off a cliff anyway, so... is it really a dumb TD if it falls in the forest and nobody notices?

Exactly. Touche, my dear Watson.

Ok, enough with the mixed metaphors; time to go burn some water off a duck's back!

My first athlete is LeBron James.

I absolutely hated LeBron when he first was drafted into the NBA. I hated him until I realized that virtually all of my hatred was simply misappropriated jealousy. I didn't like him because he was younger than me and at the same time much, much, much, much, much more financially successful than me.

Once I realized that I was able to simply watch him as what he is - an insanely freakishly talented once in a lifetime phenom. That word is used a lot, phenom. But LeBron is one of the very few true phenoms I've actually ever seen from his professional genesis until the present time, and that makes me hopeful that his achievements were/are pure and untainted.

I will never see another LeBron, and I would be disappointed if he was dirty.

Don't take my #2!

Its only a matter of time before the truths start surfacing about the NBA. We already know to a 100% degree of certainty that the referees alter the outcomes of games. Its currently in progress with Tennis, a recent SN article pointed towards it (there was even a graphic of a racket with a syringe for a handle). At the end of the day, were gonna have to accept that most of the sports heros for people in their 20s and 30s today were using PEDs.... Lebron is likely no exception.

That said, The athlete I would be most disappointed in would be Chipper Jones. Why? Because he is the bright spot of a very tainted era in baseball. He was the best player on the best team in the NL for a decade. His legacy to date is one of the few greats from an era of the Great American Past Time who's performance was not enhanced by illegal drugs.

If it turns out that Chipper was partaking there is nobody left from one of the greatest eras on the field in baseball history.

Dude.

Mike Trout.

Just joshin, Frank. Good TD.

Back to Trout, this kid is basically the epitome of everything we as fans love about baseball.

Young guy gets the call up (odd how I hated on LBJ for being young but not Trout... at least til you consider the difference in rookie salaries for the two, although to be fair Trout's $480,000 salary in 2012 was still significantly higher than my own) and right off the bat (another pun? Sigh...) he demonstrates a prodigious level of talent in every facet of the game. This guy can literally do it all.

After being called up up on April 28, 2012, Trout went on to finish his rookie season batting .326 with an OPS of .963.

Not to mention 30 homers, 83 RBI and 49 (out of 54) stolen bases.

Add in Trout's defense, which was highly rated by both traditional scouting and stat-based research, and you have one of the most complete players since Lord knows when. I've heard some smart baseball people make Mickey Mantle comparisons, and that's exalted territory indeed.

Sure hope he's clean.

Kate Upton's boobies.

I'll be pissed if those aren't real.

Chipper was a great choice, although for some reason he hadn't popped in my mind yet. Which means my number two is still available.

Hint : he's an Angel.

February 24, 2013  12:19 AM ET

Outlaw would be devastated if Chipper ever was pinched.

The PED debate is always interesting in terms of where do you draw the line? You can walk into a GNC and find thousands of supplements. Some are legal in professional sports, some aren't... but eventually will be, etc. There's a thin line that's drawn which remains in perpetual motion.
