I agree with Mel Kiper, Jarvis Jones is the best on the board.

I get that he didn't work at the combine, and his pro date's late March.

First off I'd like to say, I've seen this man all season long. Resident in Georgia, obviously, and big UGA fan. This guy, Jarvis Jones, won two HUGE games for the Bulldogs this year, nearly single-handidly.

vs Missouri..

vs Florida ...

courtesy of wiki, and I def. didn't get my idea from this. lol

He played an integral role in wins over Missouri and Florida.

2011 stats: 70 tackles, 13.5 sacks, 2 forced fumbles

2012 stats: 85 tackles, 14.5 sacks, 7 FORCED FUMBLES

Jarvis Jones is a machine. 6'3, 240. Kiper has his 40 projected @ 4.5.

Jarvis Jones made crucial forced fumbles in both the Missouri game and Florida game. When UGA played Florida, UGA was ranked #10, Florida #2. Could be off. Jarvis attacked the qb, sealed us the dub. (WIN)

Look at his 2012 stats. he incresed in every statistical category, and led the Georiga Bulldogs a game away from the national title, in the horrid Sec. Jarvis Jones is more athletic than Manti T'eo, that's for sure. lol

Quick note: when Jones came out of HS his 40 yard dash was timed at 4.65, so we'll see about that 4.5 flat. Regardless, I'm not gonna try to convince anyone that Jones doesn't have the talent to be proclaimed the best player in the draft.

Here's why: he's a FREAK of nature. Von Miller 2.0. Not Von-lite, but the second coming of Miller. He is an absolutely terrifying pass rusher and he's good against the run and in pass defense, as well. Athletically speaking, Jones is as good as they come. And he has the game film (from the SEC, no less) to prove that he's not merely a workout warrior.

Just off talent, Jones is every bit as good as you say, PCHy mon.

But...

He also has spinal stenosis.

For those who are uninformed, spinal stenosis is an abnormal narrowing of the spinal column. It's only supposed to happen in really old people, unless (like me, and more than likely like Jones) you have Degenerative Disc Disease, which can leave a 25 year old man with the spine of an 80 year old. Trust me on this one, it's something I deal with every day.

Jones' spine is shot and it's never gonna get better. You can't fix spine injuries.

His condition lowers his value.

That's interesting. Had no idea. I'm sure the scouts know about his condition. #still #NUMBER_1

No no no! Jarvis is horrible. Every team need to pass on him until he reaches the Steelers at #17! ;^D

I agree that JJ is a beast. I can't believe Mel Kiper has the insight to see it............

I want to see the Steelers shore up their OL once and for all. This makeshift-slap-together OL is killing them. IF JJ were to still be available at #17 (which he will not be) then yes, for sure take him. Other that Jarvis Jones, Dee Milliner, Bjoern Werner, Damontre Moore or Shariff Floyd, they need to pass on D men the first round and gets some help on the OL.

Don't forget Tank Carradine. People are sleeping on him, big time.

I'm kinda going out on a limb here and I realize that, but I feel pretty confident in saying that Carradine is hands down the best pure pass rusher in this draft, with the possible exception of Jones, who is not purely a pass rusher. Jones is great at rushing the QB but he defends the pass pretty well, too, and he's pretty good against the run as well.

Carradine is more of a pure pass rusher, in my opinion, and a darn good one at that.

Off topic, but how bout San Fran going after Darrelle Revis?

As if they needed any more top notch players...

How about a Giancarlo Stanton/Brian Wilson trade, straight up?

I can't blame you, but I will say this:

In a vacuum, that move wasn't so bad. Those were marginal, expensive players that contributed to a 90-loss team. Had it been anyone other than Loria to make that move, it would have gone off without a hitch. His history is costing him here, but it wasn't a bad move. The team sucked.

You're probably right, but in the short term it's really hard to swallow.

The Tribe had their biggest offseason ever. We got Nick Swisher. Hold on a sec while I go pull my pud.

And they raped Arizona for Trevor Bauer, and they have some really nice young pieces in Santana and Chisenhall. And even Drew Stubbs, I thought, was a great signing for the Tribe.

Honestly I really like Cleveland's current roster. If Jimenez can ever regain his Colorado form the Indians might just be a force to be reckoned with this year, and for several to come.

I think they've already done that with 4 top picks (1st or 2nd round) in the last 3 drafts. They have bigger holes at (in no perticular order) RB, WR, OLB, ILB, & S. And if they can't resign Keenon Lewis, CB.
