Brief recap of the Eagles offseason.
-released DE Jason Babin midseason 2012
-replaced several assistant coaches/front office personnel, including midseason 2012
-replaced Andy Reid with Chip Kelly as HC
-released CB Nnamdi Asomugha, DT Cullen Jenkins
-drafted OT Lane Johnson, TE Zach Ertz, QB Matt Barkley
-signed QB Dennis Dixon, SS Patrick Chung, DT Isaac Sopoaga, CB Cary Williams, S Kenny Phillips, RB Felix Jones, undrafted FA WR Russell Shepard
-engaged in a QB competition, presumably amongst Michael Vick, Nick Foles, and Matt Barkley
Lots of changes, with the biggest obviously being the decision to replace The Walrus with Chip Kelly. The million dollar question is, how will Kelly's pace/offense/culture/etc translate to the NFL. We don't know, and that makes predicting the Eagles' season nearly impossible. The QB competition is the proverbial nail in the prognosticating coffin. This TD is pointless.
But I still want to try, so here goes.
People are expecting something extreme. Extreme pace of play, scoring, underachieving, whatever. People are expecting a spectacle, for better or worse.
I say they're extremely average.
