1. 1986 maradonna wins the World Cup by himself!
No one has ever seen this before and it hasn't happened since..
It's one of the hardest things to do in all of sports..
Virtually impossible..

2. 1989..
Michael Chang a 17er wins the French open tennis style..
Against Lendl he serves underarm, returns serve from the service line and fights off cramps!!!
It was the stuff of ultimate fiction..
Chang never won a slam again:(
Guess he used up all the magic..

3. Joey Montana..
Bags his 5th Super Bowl..
No one, and I mean no one has come close since..

4. Hulk hogan wins 4 championships in a row..
Beating big fat Andre the giant and randy macho man savage in dramatic fashion..
As a 5 year old, he was my first true sports idol..

5. Larry bird vs magic Johnson..
We haven't seen a rivalry as good as this since then:(

6. 1986 mets vs Red Sox..
Greatest series of the decade by far..
We hadn't seen a series like that since 75, reds vs Red Sox..

7. Wayne Gretzky..
Would be higher if I was a hockey guy
OR
if he had stayed at Edmonton!!!

1. I guess you've never seen "Miracle."

2. I guess you've also never heard of Boston College and Doug Flutie.

3. You've got Joe Montana at #3 so I'll keep him there. The only difference? My Montana moment actually happened. "The Catch."

4. "The Play"

5. Michael Jordan. I don't think I can choose just ONE moment. Scores 63 against the Celtics. The Bulls still lose. Larry Bird calls him "God disguised as Michael Jordan." Or his dunk from the free throw line. Or his shot against the Cavs. Etc., Etc., Etc.

6. Mike Tyson's KO of Michael Spinks.

7. Jack Nicklaus, 46-years-young, wins the Masters.

8. Mary Lou Retton. All-around gold.

9. Bo Jackson. Like Jordan, do I really need to pick a single moment?

10. Pete Rose. Has there ever been such a bittersweet decade for a guy? 1982-Sets the all-time record for hits. 1989-Banned from baseball for life.

I'm down by 12..
I surrender!!!!!!

HCF,

I'm a hugh wrestling fan but it is high time you realized that Hogan never best Andre. Andre allowed him to win. No one could beat a 7 foot 4 inch over 500 pound man unless he let's you. Hogan himself has said many times that going into WrestleMania III he didn't know for sure if Andre was on board with the plan and if Andre didn't want Hogan to win there was absolutely nothing Hogan could do about it.

That being said the 80's was a fun time to be a wrestling fan. A time we will never see again for many reasons.

Steelers cement their dynasty by winning their 4'th Superbowl in 6 years.

Chang was okay but the Borg-McEnroe Wimbledon Final was probably the best tennis match of all time.

Of course no one else came close... even Joe Montana didn't win five Super Bowls.
