PEYTON MANNiNG Incredible season last year, an unfortunate overtime thrilling loss to the SB champs.

Peyton maybe before his injury, now he's taken a backseat even to his little bro. its not tom brady, aaron rodgers, or any qb for that matter. its not even a damn player. Its Roger Goodell and you know that's a fact. he's made sure of it.
If stern wasn't retiring it'd be tempting to say him as well. But this is Lebron's league right now and every one knows it.
Good luck PCH

dana has made mma what it is today. there is no brand name that is more well known world wide in the sport than the ufc. before dana took over (with a lot of help, I know) the sport (at least in the western hemisphere and particularly the US) was about to collapse. they were a novelty act.
look at where they are now. dana was the sports biggest fan and he made sure that people realized that this was more than just a bloodsport. he made it exciting and got people (and athletes) to buy into what he was selling.
the ufc is making about $10 mil per ppv (link in comments) and that is because dana has made it exciting and relevant. now i'm not saying i necessarily agree with the way he's doing it and feel that at times he's trying to force himself into the celebrity status, but dana is easily the most recognized guy that's still active in the sport right now because he forces it to be that way. dana is always the first guy to give the sound byte, often times at his fighter's expense.
love him or hate him, white is the face of the ufc right now because of all he's done and continues to do.
jones' full stardom will come if he can be more controversial. he's yet to bloom

BONES JONES IS THE BEST MMA FIGHTER IN THE WORLD?
ONE DEFEAT, BUT WHO BEAT 'EM?
Lets be real...
Anderson Silva just secretly passed the torch to Bones. Bones has not only won matches against, Shogun, Machida, Rampage, Rashad, and Ryan Bader, he literally beat the **** out of 'em.
Bones Knows, seen Nike's campaign?
Bones IS the man now, we all know about ole dude.

So we're giving him the face on mount rushmore for being "currently"the best fighter in the mma? shouldn't the face of a sport be someone established and there for the long haul? that's why dana is the obvious choice. he was there before Jones (and helped make him what he is today) and he will be there after jones (promoting his successor and new "currently the best fighter")
I think Jones' stardom is still on the rise right now. he needs a headliner type knockout in a fight where some trash is talked so that his name is drug into the limelight a little more. right now I have no dispute that he's the best, but he sadly doesn't have any rival to destroy to make his name glow brighter.
