1. Pete Sampras..
When he got to 10 grand slams.. He had to wait 3 years before getting to record breaking 13..
That's everyday for 3 years wondering if you are going to break the record..
He finally broke it in his 30's.. And then was never the same player..

2. Patriots tying dolphins undefeated regular season..
The last 7 weeks were like play off games..
The pressure of chasing something impossible..

3. Spain's next World Cup..
They have been unbeaten since 2008 euro cup, in major tournaments..
How heavy will their boots feel in brazil?
It's impossible.. 6 years of an impossible reign?

4. The Yankees going for their 4th straight title back in 01..
They finally cracked in the bottom of the 9th..
Every year the pressure got more and more intense..
And then they ran into the greatest one two punch, randy and curts..
They took care of schilling, but Johnson was too much..

5. Jordan going for his 6th ring..
Had he lost to Utah.. His legacy would have been destroyed..
Probably why he retired afterwards..
Now he still has that aroma of invincibility..

First off- The Pats? No. Thats like winning the 100 meter dash and tripping 4 feet short.

I'd give you Jordans game 6, "flu" and all- but he did have game 7 to go, and destroyed his legacy? Guess who lost his last finals appearance- MAGIC, yup, he sucks.

Then you go with a loss from the Yankees.

This belongs on a list of cracked psycological feats. Or "choke" to use the term

1. Eric Gagne,
Consecutive saves converted

-- He has to not only pitch well, but has to rely on his team getting the run support to win.

2. Casey Kotchman
Consecutive fielding chances without an error - 2,379

-- Whatever you do, don't screw up.

3. Drew Brees
Consecutive Games with a TD pass.

-- Wasn't touched by Manning, Elway or even Marino or Montana!
You gotta go back to Unitas for this one. Plus you have to do it for weeks on end, vs defenses geared to stop you.

I don't know how to argue this?!?!???!

Jo Jo Reyes' 28 game long consecutive starts winless streak from June 2008 to May 2011.
