Prearranged TD....

I am not sure whom my opponent will select as the winners but here are the games selected this week followed in bold are my predictions

Arkansas at Alabama ... Bama by 21 look for the razorbacks to take another trouncing

Washington State at Oregon... Oregon by 23

FSU at Clemson...FSU barely

Iowa at Ohio State... Buckeyes

LSU at Mississippi...LSU

UGA at Vandy...UGA

Auburn at TX A&M...Aggies

UCLA at Stanford... Stanford (wanted to take UCLA in this one but just could not pull the trigger)

Miami at UNC...Miami

SC at Tenn... SC

UF at Mizzou ...UF Mizzou takes 1st conference loss this week.

Washington at ASU...Sundevils in a close one

USC at ND...ND

Clemson over FSU.

To me this game was a tossup. These are 2 really good teams, but I went with the home team Tigers because Death Valley is a tough place to play (they are 19-1 since 2011 and as long as Boyd has been the primary starter).

Oh, and I like Taj Boyd's big game experience (he had a huge game against at the time #5 Georgia and a win over LSU in their bowl game) vs the freshman phenom that is James Winston. This will be the biggest game in Winston's short career.

Regardless, these teams won't come close to tallying the 86 combined points they did last year.

UCLA over Stanford.

I'm actually torn on this one, another tossup. Stanford hasn't faced a dual threat like Bruins quarterback Hundley who can run and throw the ball very well. And he will need to be very effective for UCLA to hand the Cardinal in their first loss at home in a while (Stanford has a 12 game home winning streak).

The Bruins already have one huge road win this season when they knocked off Nebraska, 41-21, on September 14th.

Lets goooooo!!!!

there are two main reasons I took FSU over Clemson in this game.

FSU is 3rd in the Nation in scoring and they are also 3rd in the Nation in Defense. That combination from both sides of the ball makes them one of IF not the best team in the Nation IMO.

While I do love when the Clemson Tigers are powering their way thru the season I just feel the FSU shutdown defense will keep points off the boards.

The Tigers on the other hand are 10th in points against but are only 18th in points for.

If that Seminole defense keeps shutting them down you can look for that high powered offense to break through against the Tiger's D. You put any defense on the field for too many plays per quarter and they WILL wear down.

As for the UCLA and Stanford game, I have to be honest, I almost eenie-minnie-miny-moed that sucker. But in the end I went with Stanford for thinking that they feel they need to avenge the loss at Utah last game and there is no better way to accomplish that than to beat a conference rival at home. Their last minute goal-line failure against Utah left a bitter taste in their mouth and they look to right the ship this week.

I guess this is called a hunch.

GL

FSU's defense is ranked 3rd in the Nation, but guess what? Clemson's defense isn't too shabby either. They are ranked 10th, allowing just 16.2ppg as opposed to FSU's 12ppg. 4 ppg isn't a huge difference. Both teams can play some defense.

Not to mention, the Tigers faced a much more potent offense than FSU has. The Tigers beat the Bulldogs (#28 in scoring offense), 38-35 earlier this season. The Seminoles haven't faced an offense ranked higher than 56th (Maryland) all season.

That changes this week.

Avenge a loss? The Bruins lost to Stanford twice last season. I think UCLA's offense is going to be too much for the Cardinal defense.

The Bruins are #7 in scoring (45.7ppg) with Hundley leading a potent passing attack (17th with 323.6ypg) and 21st in rushing yards with 223.4ypg.

Stanford is vulnerable against the run. They allowed 176 yards last weekend to the Utes in Utah's 27-21 win. And Hundley is a lot more mobile than Utah's QB TRavis Wilson.

Okay again, I got it with the Bruins and Cardinals game. I understand the stats coming into this game. However, in this game its like many others going into a great rivalry game, throw the darn stats out the window, strap on the pads and let's get busy.

All the stats and indicators in the world predicted OU to beat Texas last week by 14 points. But in the Red River Rivalry Texas came to play and sent OU to their first loss of the season.

My first instinct with this game I just felt like Stanford is waiting to burst that UCLA bubble.

In the FSU vs Clemson game I don't put much credence into lesser competition so far for FSU because all the games they won big they took their their foot off the gas once it was a blowout. Winston did not play but .04 seconds in the 4th quarter against Maryland and the Seminoles still scored another 3 touchdowns using their backup offense.

Where we agree is that FSU has NOT faced the type defense they will see this weekend in Clemson, however, neither has Clemson.

Secondly, Clemson has NOT faced the prolific offense they will see in Winston and his Noles this weekend.

One thing for certain, its THE BEST game on the schedule this week

OU-Texas is a much bigger rivalry than....LOL, UCLA-Stanford. The UCLA-USC game is the biggest game of the year for the Bruins, not the Cardinals, Archie.

C'mon, you're grasping at straws.

There is no bubble to be burst for UCLA. They are a legit team, much better than last year when they had to outscore teams to win. This year, their defense is actually capable of stopping an opponents offense when they need to. Last year, Hundley had to throw for 300 yards, 2 TD's just for them to have a chance to win, even with a RB like Jonathan Franklin.

True, Clemson hasn't seen an offense like FSU's, but lets not forget....Winston is a freshman. And he'll be facing the best defense of the season. He's looked excellent, but the best defense they faced was Maryland and they ranked 32nd in the Nation. And the Terps hadn't faced any good offenses.

So, the Tigers defense is going to be all over Winston and he'll seeing pressure he hasn't seen this season. He'll be eating dirt and we'll have a better idea how he candle adversity. Playing in Death Valley for basically the ACC title is a big deal and I think Clemson wins, 24-20.

Sure you do. That's why you never comment on the NCAA T & R's, message boards or any other NCAA TD's (until Canuck recruited you to vote against me in all my TD's).

although I guess I do sort of understand, if I was having to resort to hanging in the hockey T&R I'd be looking for every excuse to get out and communicate with real people too

October 18, 2013  01:24 PM ET

If UCLA was playing at home I'd give them the win over Stanford.... but I'd also like to see an upset.

Clemson has faced better teams against Georgia and South Carolina, IMO the edge goes to the Tigers.

No. He recruited people on the NHL's to vote against me, but doesn't see the hypocrisy of his actions.
