The Seattle Seahawks are better than the Kansas City Chiefs.

There is a team that resembles the KC Chiefs almost entirely.

The Seattle Seahawks.

They both have a solid defense, solid running game, good receivers (to an extent) and have a QB that makes little to no mistakes. Now, Seattle's record is 6-1, compared to a KC Chiefs 7-0. However, I am still much more impressed with Seattle at the moment than I am Kansas City.

Let's examine the defensive side of the football.

When it comes up that the KC Chiefs have the best defense in the league, I am still not completely sold. Statistics from NFL.com show that in Rushing Yards Per Game (YPG) the Chiefs rank 20th in the NFL, while Seattle is ranked 6th.

Passing Yards Per Game don't show any better compared to Seattle. Chiefs are only 3rd while Seattle is 2nd in the NFL.

And in total yards per game, on every side of the ball, Chiefs rank 5th, while Seattle ranks in 2nd.

Do these stats really show that the Chiefs are the best in the NFL?!

In FACT! The only thing the Chiefs rank 1st in the NFL in, (And above Seattle) is sacks. Which, if you average the offensive line rankings of opposing teams, they are 28.4 best in the NFL. NOT IMPRESSIVE AT ALL.

You brought up a lot of stats, that's for daaaamn sure.

You know what really matters at the end of the day? The Chiefs are 7-0 and the Seahawks are 6-1. That's what ultimately matters, wins and losses.

Are you sure you got the right stats? Because, I looked and ESPN has KC 12th in running the ball on offense. And when I looked on NFL.com, they also have the Chiefs 12th.

KC is +88 (2nd only to Denver's +101) while the Seahawks are +75 in point differential.

And the only real defensive stat that matters? PPG allowed. The Chiefs allow 11.6ppg, best in the League.

Seattle allows 16.6ppg, 3rd.

You want to know why I think KC is a better team? Coaching.

Pete Carroll was a bust in New York and New England. So much that he had to go to USC before he got another shot. He has done well since returning, but I'll take Reid over him any day of the week. Reid has been to 5 NFC title games and a Super Bowl.

Reid came in and remade a team that went a pathetic 2-14 last season. They have looked nothing like that abortion of a team.

Not only does Seattle have better statistics than Kansas City on the defensive side of the ball, but they are doing this against way higher quality teams.
The Chiefs have beaten teams with a combined record of 12-33. That is barely above a 1/3 winning ratio, only beating 1 team above .500.
However, Seattle has played a combined opponent ranking of 25-22. That is over 1/2 of wins.

Now comes my personal favorite part.. tearing apart Alex Smith

Alex Smith has one of the lowest QBR's in the NFL ranked at 30. (Even below backup QB's)
For those of you who don;t know what QBR is, it is a formula that ranks the consistency and performance of a Quarterback. It takes his performance, puts into a math equation, and ranks it. He is 30th in the NFL, soo what does that mean? There are 29 QB's in the NFL better than him.
Russel Wilson, the Seattle quarterback is ranked #12. Way better than #30.

So what makes him so "good"? There is nothing, because he is not.
His completion % is 35th best
His ATT/G is 19th
His TD ranking 14th
And His QBR is 30th.
(All of these, worse than Russel Wilson)

You got the SOS just a bit wrong, my friend.

Kansas City has faced teams that are a combined 15-33 (31.3%)

Seattle has faced teams that are a combined 21-27 (43.8%)

QBR? A stat ESPN made up? LOL.

Wilson has Sidney Rice, Golden Tate and Doug Baldwin at WR plus TE Zach Miller. That's why his numbers are better. It takes good talent for a QB to shine.

Just look at Tom Brady. He's not nearly as bad as he has looked this season. Most people would take him over Wilson in big games, but his best WR is in Denver, his best TE has missed most of the season and his 2nd best TE is in jail.

Smith doesn't have the same amount of talent at his disposal. Dwayne Bowe (just 25 catches and 11.8ypc, just 67 YAC) has been terribly inconsistent after signing a huge contract in the offseason. He's been dropping passes and run half ass pass routes. Donnie Avery (21 catches, 16.3ypc) has been the only consistent player for Smith. Anthony Fasano is a blocker at TE and useless as a receiver.

Again, the only stat that matters. KC is 7-0 and Seattle is 6-1. The schedules are bad for both teams.

Now a lot of you wonder why I used Seattle. I simply used them because I have to compare the Chiefs to something before I can claim bad things about KC. I am not shocked that KC is 7-0, nor would I be shocked to see them go 9-0. But they only really have 3 hard games this season. Unless they win one of those, they are still the same 2-14 Chiefs team from last year.

Now before Chiefs fans get all butt hurt and go "Oh no, we are for real this year."
Let's take a blast from the past.

You guys had this exact same set-up back in 2011. You had a Brand New QB (Cassel) and brand new coach (Haley) going into 2011. Your schedule was almost exactly the same, playing the same two divisions you do this year. You guys went 10-6 and made the playoffs. But then again, your schedule was easy. And the playoffs proved that.

The first round of the playoffs, you played an actual team in a 12-4 Baltimore Ravens.. and you got smacked 31-7 in the first round. (Which by the way, My Pittsburgh Steelers beat the next round Hehehehe)

Overall look at one question:

What is the Chiefs' most impressive win? If that answer doesn't impress you, VOTE LEFT.

1-Last year, the Chiefs were last in scoring. This year they are tied for 12th.

Last year, the defense was #25 in points per game allowed. This year they have the #1 defense in ppg allowed.

You guys? Check out the avatar. Raiders fan over here.

2-Andy Reid is a much better coach than Todd fricking Haley. Haley hasn't done anything significant since he lucked into having Kurt Warner in Arizona. Reid has led 5 Eagles teams to the NFC Championship game and has 1 visit to the SB. Haley has 1 visit to the SB as an OC. And he's probably going to get fired by Pittsburgh before the season ends, Roy.

3-You mentioned San Francisco was Seattle's signature win. The 49ers aren't the same team as last season. Sure, they are good but their coach is trying to turn Kevin Kaepernick into something he isn't. They aren't running the same offense (the read option) that made them as good as they were.

You don't get awarded trophies for signature wins by the way.

Thanks for the TD, Roy. It's been a while since your presence has been seen on here. How about the Raiders-Steelers this weekend? RAIDERS!!!!

To me the Chiefs and Seahawks are very similar except right now KC is better at getting to the quarterback, so in my mind the Chiefs are slightly better than the Seahawks.

Wrong.

Just can't help yourself from being way to premature.

At the time that KC faced their opponents so far this season, only one of the teams were above .500, and not one of the teams mentioned made it to the playoffs.

While Seattle has played a couple of teams that were and still are above .500, and whom both of them played in the playoffs last year. Their only lost was to a team that made it to the Super Bowl last season and a team that just manhandled the highest scoring offense and a Icon at the QB position.

As of 2 arguments, leaning heavily to the left for now. <---------------------------------XXX

What's the over/under on this TD going zombie?

Not quite sure how you would place and over/under on something that has no score or numerical value. But I'd say the odds are pretty good.

Percentage wise. For example, 74%.

Good points.

Your math is off. Both have played bad schedules.

both have played mostly poor teams. both have looked good at times, and had some struggles at times. if they were playing, i'd take the home team. pretty much a tossup for me just due to the styles being equivalent. give the edge to kc in coaching. otherwise i see them as pretty much even. will wait for more args before voting

But then again, Seattle has played way better teams. What is the best Kansas City Chiefs win? Who was the toughest quarterback? I could say Andrew Luck, or Kaepernick. Who have the Chiefs played? Romo? Mr. "Never get rid of the ball 4th and 48 Pryor? Titan's backup? When you ask the question, what is the Chiefs' most impressive win, there simply is none. You can not name an impressive win. But I think Seattle blowing out Superbowl runner-up. 5-2 49ers, is one of the most impressive wins of the season.

QBR is kinda goofy. I remember after the first week, when Peyton had like 7 touchdown passes or something, that according to QBR Manning was the sixth best QB from the NFL's opening weekend.
