Lets say that Peyton loses in the AFC championship game ( Considering how many times he's one and done- thats actually better than his norm) and on the bus ride home, a crazed TeBow fan blindsides the bus- not giving him permanent damage to the neck, but enough that he's never going to play again.

So who's career would you rather have?

Both Men walking off the gridiron for the last time, so you cannot go off the board (Peyton becomes president, Terry buys the Bucks and moves them to Pittsburgh and marries Hanna Montana, etc

Me?

I take Bradshaw.

First lets talk rings. Yes I had an all time defense, but lets also keep in mind I have 3 guys in the hall of fame that are not going to be there if not for me. By the way, how many guys is Peyton putting in? I'd like to know how many Hall of Fame Offensive Lineman I got- One, same as Peyton is gonna get.

Peyton has at least 2 Hall of Famers on Defense, so its not like he didn't have anyone there- oh and he's got a guy that ESPN is going to get in the Hall of Fame if they have to have Disney buy the city of Canton. So he should be worth 8-9 defensive hall of famers on his own, right?

Hello. Hello. Making my debut here.

Easy choice. I'll take Peyton's career in a heartbeat.

1. Net worth. Terry's net worth is about $10m right now. Peyton? over $100m. Boom

2. Personal life. Terry's been married 3 times! Wonder how enjoyable those alimony payments are. Peyton has the same original wife he started with. Smart man.

3. Mental health. Terry suffers from short term memory loss. Peyton's sharp as a tack.

4. Age. Terry's already 65! Not much time left on this earth. Peyton's only 37. Plenty of time to enjoy my $millions in blissful retirement.

Who cares about who I'm responsible for getting into the HOF, or how many rings I have? Terry can't even remember any of it!

1. Net worth of 10M? And he makes 1M a year just being goofy on Fox.
How much money do you need? Pretty sure If Terry wants to go buy a car he's not looking for a co-signer.

Tony Romo is worth 65, so I guess he's better than Bradshaw, Joe Willie and pretty much every player that ever played before 1980 combined right?

Unitas only made 4M his whole career, and was flat arse broke when he died, so even 7th rounders today have more, so I guess Sanchez + Vernon Gholston > Unitas + Lawrence Taylor (who also went bankrupt) Right?

2. And? Never heard of trading in for a new one?

3. Give him 20 years. How many people seem fine now but degrade quickly- I forget how many neck surgeries has Bradshaw had? He's a lot more mobile than a lot of players from his era.

4. Uh, said at the time of retirement. Might want to check that one.

Let's move on to career stats. My source is pro-football-reference.com.

Manning:
2nd all time in Career Passing Yards: 62,052
2nd all time in Career Passing TDs: 461

You are not exactly counting a few things that have changed.

Manning has 2 more games per year, there are also a TON of rules changes

The rules the defensive backs have to play against are night and day compared to what Bradshaw had to deal with. Almost every rule change since 1982 has benefited the passing game.

So when you throw out the Career stats you are not really comparing like games.

Let me borrow this from below (#credit) Wayne and Harrison averaged twice as many catches and yards per game than Swann and Stallworth.

Can you NAME Bradshaw's TE? But since you want to go stats.
Lets go to the PLAYOFF STATS

Bradshaw: 19 Games
Manning : 20 Games

Bradshaw: 14-5(!) 30 TDs 26 Tds 83 rating
Manning 9-11 Win Loss, 32Tds, 21 Ints, 88 Rating

Just for fun, Terry ran for 274 yards Manning? 26 yards (both 3 TDs)

SO in 1 less game, Bradshaw threw only 2 less TDs and the rating isn't that far off. Terry does have 5 more picks- but who threw a SB blowing TAINT?

Manning.

Oh, Super Bowl?
Bradshaw 9Tds and 4 Picks. - 3 of those in 1 game (4 wins)
Manning? 2 Tds 2 Picks (1-1 record)

Bradshaw got BETTER as the pressure mounted

Ok - so in your last argument, you say we can't compare stats due to different eras/rules, but then you go ahead and throw out some stats anyway. So, which is it? You can't have your cake and eat it too.

Regardless, I'd like to focus on one statement: "Almost every rule change since 1982 has benefited the passing game." I agree with you, and I think it's a great example of why choosing Manning's career is the clear decision. Why would you choose an era that has no rules of protecting the QB, is way more restrictive on WRs, AND there's no such thing as free-agency? Besides that, what about advancements in medicine and physical fitness? If you blew a knee in Bradshaw's era, your career was over. Today? You can blow your knees and come back like Adrian Peterson!

Let's move on to individual accolades: namely, League MVP. Manning: 4. Bradshaw: 1.

Nobody has won more league MVPs than Manning. Regardless of rules and eras, when you compare accomplishments within their own era, Manning dominated the league like no other player before him - resulting in four unparalleled MVPs.

So, in sum: Manning: More dominant, healthier, richer.

Thanks for your time and for this TD.

Hmm.. Bradshaw had a handful of rings but he wasn't necessarily a very good QB... it'd be hard not to take Peyton's career.

Indeed. Good point.

Who are the 3 HOFer's that wouldn't be their without Terry?

There aren't many HOFers who would be there if you took the 7-8 best players off of their team.

The real question to their great careers? Who's film career has been more successful, Bradshaw's Cannonball Run or Manning's commercials?

Bradshaw was better than people give him credit for. His stat sheet is adversely affected because he played during the toughest defensive era in league history.

However, all things equal - offensive line, receivers, running game, defense, special teams - I'd definitely still go with Peyton Manning.

IDK, Manning unfortunately has had some I likeness about him. And sometimes it's better to be fortunate in the 4th QTR than it is to be highly skilled but be prone to game altering mistakes.

Terry Bradshaw completed 57.2% of his passes for 201.7ypg, 8.4ypa, 30 TD's to 26 INT's with an 83 Passer Rating.

Manning completed 63.2% for 284ypg, 7.5ypa, 32 TD's to 21 INT's with an 88.4 PR.

Bradshaw had a great defense (took pressure off him so he didn't have to do as much) while Manning often had a less than stellar defense and he was forced to outscore the other team.

I'd take Manning.

Bradshaw also had a much more consistent running game. Manning had Edgerrin James for 5 good seasons.

Yeah, because the rule changes that took effect helping the passing game didn't occur until the very end of Bradshaw's career. It's like you have no watched a football game in your life.

I guess once you drink Four Loko you start to lose the usage of vital parts of your ****, if you know what i mean.
