Oklahoma is way better than Kansas, and the reason why Kansas is winning is because they are versing very easy teams such as Toledo and other unranked teams. They had already versed one unranked team. Oklahoma had already versed 2 ranked teams, and those teams could beat Kansas very easy. Kansas wouldn't win the Big 12.

Since your picking on Kansas, I guess that I'll defend them. While Kansas is facing very easy teams, Oklahoma also has a very easy nonconference schedule: home against North Texas, Utah State, Miami, and at Tulsa. Compare this to Kansas: home against Central Michigan, Southeastern Louisiana, Toledo, Florida International. Looking at the records, OU faced a combined record of 10-19 and KU faced a combined record of 9-21. Even schedules there. Kansas went to a ranked Kansas State, who did beet Texas a week earlier, and beet them. They also went to the same Colorado team that did beet Oklahoma earlier in the year. Kansas is also outscoring opponents by an average of 45.9 (46) - 10.1 (10). Oklahoma is outscoring opponents by an average of 44.5 (46) - 16.6 (17). Kansas holds a slight offensive and defensive advantage.

Oklahoma is way better than Kansas. Oklahoma wins by a margin of 50 points per game. Oklahoma is ranked number 5 in the nation right now. Kansas don't have a chance to beat Oklahoma even if they have the #1 wide receiver in the nation. The reason Kansas is good is because they are versing the whackest teams in the world. Who can't beat Nebraska right now. Any team could beat them. Oklahoma is the best team in the Big 12. They could beat Texas and Kansas at the same time. They could win anything.

Yes, they may have a 50 point margin of victory (actually 29 points), but if your going by average margin of victory, then look at Kansas, 36 point margin victory. If my math is correct, then thats a full touchdown plus the point after. If the big XII, the only thing that matters, OU's average margin of victory is 27.5 (28) - 21.5 (22). Kansas's average margin of victory in the Big XII is 35.7 (36) - 16. Kansas does play in the same conference and does play six of the same conference teams that Oklahoma plays. So far, Kansas has beaten the only team that Oklahoma lost to, Colorado. Look at the domino effect from this though. Colorado lost to Kansas State, who beat Texas, but lost to Kansas. Kansas State beat Texas by 20. Kansas beat Kansas State by 6. On paper, Kansas should beat Texas by 26. Oklahoma beat Texas by 7. I know that this isn't the way football is played, but hey, its fun to look at.

For the rest of the schedule, Kansas has @ Texas A&M, vs Nebraska, @ Oklahoma State, vs Iowa State, and vs Mizzou. Oklahoma has vs Texas A&M, vs Baylor, @ Texas Tech, and vs Oklahoma State.

So what Kansas has a margin of victory of 36, Kansas is not better than Oklahoma. Oklahoma could be Texas Tech and Texas A&M put together. Who can't beat Oklahoma State? They are the whackest team. Oklahoma was on the road when they had played Colorado. They had just won by over 40 points against Tulsa. They were tired in that game. I bet you if they had versed again, Oklahoma would win by probably 40 points. Kansas barely beat Colorado. If they can't beat Texas, then they can't beat Oklahoma.

They might have been tired, but so was Kansas when they played Colorado. Kansas had just came of an EMOTIONAL WIN against Kansas State. Their game was a tough, grind-it-out, classic Big XII game. Neither team had a bye week before the Colorado game. In fact, Oklahoma was fresher than Kansas was because they had just played Tulsa, and it was earlier in the season. If Kansas can remain healthy, and not lose focus, they are a serious threat to win the Big XII North, and possibly the Big XII. Oklahoma not even win the South.

Mizzou is now #13 and just SWAMPED Texas Tech who had the best offense in the NCAA and we held them to 10 points!... we will be in the Big12 Championship and I think that they have learned from the game against Oklahoma (which they were 1 single play from WINNING).

I was gonna pick Mizzou, but he was picking on Kansas, so I felt as if I had to defend them, plus Mizzou did lose to OU at home

October 21, 2007  09:34 PM ET

true but mizzou did throw the game away...we had the lead at the end of the third with the ball but the muffed handoff pretty much screwed us over...i think the jayhawks will lose one, maybe two of their games leading up to the Mizzou game at Arrowhead. I think Mizzou will win all of them, MAYBE lose one but we have been playing amazing lately. Then, at Arrowhead, Kansas will get slaughtered 66-3.

I think Mizzou will beat Kansas but either will lose to OU. Come on. Doworkson you do realize that in last 4 weeks (yes Colorado was implosion in 4th) but beat 19 ranked texas (at time) and Mizzou who was 11 at time. Not to mention they were up 17 to Missouri until a td with less than 30 seconds left in the game. Yes Iowa St was sloppy but won by 10 and obviously looking past them. It was even what Iowa State's coach stated. They will win the big 12

Agree with everything you said DO WORK SON, also let me point out that Oklahoma has a 6 point margin of victory against the Big XII

I can't even believe this is debate..They are like the rest of the undefeated teams, are yet to play the meat of their schedule. Except Hawaii...It's all gravy in the WHACK conference.

Kansas hasn't even left the state of Kansas until last Saturday.
Oklahoma has to score 70 to reassure the Sooner Nation that they are "playing to their potential" However, they did have to play 3 away games in a row. Opposed to essentially 6 home games (@ kansas state).

Kansas will lose 2 - atOklahoma state and next week atTexas A&M

Do work son... OU/Texas are incredible rivals and have chips on shoulders against each other. Although there are exceptions these games are always hard hitting and tight and Texas is still 14 or 16 depending on poll. Missouri was top 10 and OU was up 17 until final 12 seconds when scored a useless touchdown. Oh by the way turnovers are part of the game. Perhaps you note OU had them in the special teams dept in both Colorado's 4th quarter rally and ISU game. So how are turnovers legit there but not legit when OU caused them against Misssouri. OU dominated a 4th quarter against a very good Mizzou team.

Its not looking past like waiting for next game. But after big games many teams aren''t sharp when facing a team they are expected to beat easily. They won and that is what matters.

Fact is in Big games Stoops is one of the best (along with Pete Carroll). Kansas hasn't been tested bc yet to play a real good team (T-tech is solid but not good)

Cal... Oregon St 31-28 at CAL. Enough said. Then you lost to UCLA by 9. So just go discuss who is not relevant for 400pts on Jeopardy.

October 24, 2007  01:36 AM ET

Of course Do Work Son you probably know better than the Iowa State head coach on how OU played.... maybe because he was on the sideline and reviews film he knows that OU went through the motions. No team can be up for every game in a year. Its why you win those you aren't and move on. Its only when you lose them that it stings

October 24, 2007  01:43 AM ET

Missourit Tigers == Fact OU was up 17-7 and 23-10 against Mizzou. Mizzou didn't take a lead until by 1 point with 1 minute left in 3rd quarter. 3 minutes later OU regained it. OU was up 5 and had you pinned on your 12 before the fumble. You cant just erase turnovers they are part of the game caused by defensive play. Even if no fumble you would have been sacked back behind your 10 and punting out of your endzone down 5. Of course you dont address the fact OU scored again after the defensive touchdown. Please the game was 41-24 with less than 2 minutes left in game.

I don't wish to come across as any sort of ethnic-ist or xenophobic, but a working grasp of the English language should be a prerequisite for ant TD.
Just IMHO
